Yea I've been hammering the confirm button for a good bit and nothing, I don't think the 'just keep pressing it' solution is any good. Hopefully they'll get this sorted soon.

Christ how many splits do we need? At least I can kinda understand the timezone issue for EU people, but still, Balmung has so many people with so many schedules I can't imagine there are much 'dead times'.

Hellguard, if I remember right, take more 'human friendly' names since they work as mercenaries more often. I'm gonna most likely make a Roe lady, just because someone needs to balance out the catgirl explosions.

Yea I'm expecting Musketeers to be a ranged DPS gun based class, maybe branching into a more tanky based gun class (Marine maybe?)

For my characters the class they start on will be their IC job, but I'm not at all opposed to them changing IC jobs if I like something better. For example my miqo'te will be starting off as a Lancer because I dig how that sounds but if I'm farting around on Gladiator and wind up liking it a lot I have no problem playing out him shifting fighting styles and adapting to a new concept and all.

If I ordered my digital copy of FFXIV from the Square store, the code on my receipt next to "Pre-Order bonuses" and all is what I need to enter? If so is there a place I need to go other than my profile's add a game page? It still shows me 'invalid code'.

Yea, for for both servers the bulk of the population will be new players, so just grab whichever is a better fit for you or whatever you know people on and enjoy the game!

Yea I'm sure it's, like, super hard to code to work well and not clip like hell but I'd give an arm for a special command that made Carby come run up my arms to wrap around my neck all comfy cozy. Of course I AM playing a Lala so...

I'll be RPing some of my companions, I don't think it's nuts to say there's some fairly complex clockwork toys out there.

I'll be including mine. Carby and Fairies are just normal monsters of the world, so including them isn't hard. As for the Summoner stuff I've always liked the logic that they're just aspects of the legendary creature that you give a physical form rather than the super unique stuff that sometimes gets tossed around.

I believe they said most servers were locked in the NA cluster to herd people to the new ones, your friend will most likely have to wait until Early Access or launch.

So I decided to say eff it and just mess around on another server since I'm not gonna be on Balmung until Early Access it seems. This game is great, I was really frustrated with all the server shenanigans and all, but as soon as I started (I decided to play a Gladiator just because) I was having a blast. My laptop isn't great but still everything looked lovely, the sounds were beautiful and the game just all felt so organic and Final Fantasy like, I loved it. Combat was a treat, I love games like TERA's combat systems where you have to be active so seeing an enemy busting an AoE out and being able to bail out of the way was great. The combat is rather slow but it feels...purposeful...it's not magic anime fifty cuts in one seconds and you're dead fighting. The slowness feels right because I'm a dude with a sword swinging it around at a fat little monster bouncing around me, this should feel kinda slow, you know? I've never felt bored during it, which is the key point, everything felt fun, just, ya know, a bit slow. I played back during beta and launch so I knew the core systems, but it was just astounding how much they grew and added on. I really had my doubt about how much a 'reboot' this was, I was kinda still expecting to be disappointed at this just being FFXIV's launch with a shiny new class and a coat of fresh paint, but this just knocked my socks off. I didn't get to play with crafting like I wanted to, but that's because I was loving Gladiator so much, which is amazing to me because back in the old days I HATED that class with a burning fury. Coming from FFXI it felt like they were Warrior's special younger brother, but now they really feel like...well gladiators. I'm moving around, doing cool shit, and cutting fools' faces instead of just standing still swinging my sword like an asshole. My one negative is, well this is beta, and the servers are wonky and all that. Still, if my one glaring flaw I can think of is basically a thing that will be fixed by the next time I play, I'd have to say this is a 10/10 experience, would recommend.

Yea they have, if I remember right, called this a stress test before, it was really clear when they locked creation but not login that they were funneling people around.

Major bummer, I at least hope this stuff means that for EA they'll have plenty of room added to Balmung and such.

We almost had the beta go by without a whole region of servers needing to go down...almost.

But I want it nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Yea, I'll just chill till like, I dunno, 2am before I go to sleep, I'll make my char, lock him in, then play the hell out of tomorrow and of course Early Access, in the grand scheme this is a pretty minor annoyance. But still. I want it :I

They have said this is only a stress beta thing...right?

Welp installed and got my Lalafel's looks saved...now to play the waiting game for Balmung.
