  1. Hey! My character Claire Hargrave is also an archer (though not quite as adept as your character it would seem!) who's also a tinkerer/inventor who has developed a rather... interesting array of 'special' arrows. They should totally hang so she can show them off, and he can buy them (ICly of course) because she's trying to earn funds to open up her own workshop! If that sounds at all interesting to you, well.... get over that mental hurdle and contact me already! I am NA, so likely our timezones will only synch up Wednesdays and Sundays (my two days off), but regardless welcome to the rpc!
  2. Feel free to add either of my characters if you want! I enjoy meeting new folks and both are pretty friendly. Welcome to the rpc!
  3. File under Craftsmen & Merchants: one Claire Hargrave, inventor and tinkerer. Give her an idea and she will run, run, Run as far as it will take her. Modifications? Check. High grade octane explosives that may or may not leave you a pair of smoking boots? Want those in purple or pink?
  4. As a member of Guiding Light I can verify that they are small, but insanely awesome. ....as a member of Outriders I can also verify they are awesome ...and I have a friend in Oath, and everyone I've met from there has been really nice. So take your pick!
  5. My character Sayuri is also a singer, who can play the violin and piano, and would love to meet other musicians!
  6. Sounds like Claire and Ehmra would totally get along. She's not *all* there, often acting before thinking, but she's pretty smart when she can get her head out of the clouds. She's a tinkerer who... *ahem* sometimes has disastrous results from her habit of not entirely thinking things through, and I strongly encourage friendships that would make these mishaps even more commonplace.
  7. This was so much fun, thanks to Thief for running it! All the performers were great, and the male Miqo who won it seriously had one of the coolest performances I've ever seen in an rp :0)
  8. Hey Hey! Welcome to the rpc! I've got a ruins exploring Miqo or a musician Raen you can hang with. You can read about them in my signature link. Let me know if you want to set something up!
  9. I have a nice and a strange character. Happy to throw either of them your way
  10. Hello and welcome! I don't know any EU FCs offhand but Balmung is a very busy server. Hope you land a great new home and find lots of exciting rp!
  11. This both excites and frightens me. ^^; Also, welcome back to you as well. Do not be frightened. I brought Safety Goggles c:
  12. Hello and welcome back! I too have recently returned, to find the game absolutely bursting to the gills with nice people and lots of rp!
  13. There is always next time, after all if our characters ever did get lucky then we could not come to future ones! Twelve's blessing to anyone courageous enough to try and put up with Claire.
  14. Omg that is amazing, and so appropriate for St. Paddys Day! Thanks
  15. @Nebbs: could be worse. My character had no idea what was going on until the very moment she got called away to her FC. She missed out all the fun! She probably would have run away in terror once she figured out what it was anyway Edit: this was all IC confusion on my characters part. OOC it was a fantastic event!
  16. Claire Hargrave: Likes: Explosions! Technology! Beer! Safety Goggles! Kan E Senna Hobbies: Exploding things. Tinkering/inventing Drinking Spelunking Items: Tool belt Bow and Arrow Rope Bag of cinnamon
  17. My character Sayuri is an accomplished singer/musician. However... She's never taught. More than happy to meet up tho and see what happens.
  18. Interesting. This is forum rp? I'm not sure how reliable i'd be but you have one firm maybe ^^;
  19. Sayuri let the water wash over her,Grey's words running through her head; “If there's something to find, I'll find it. But I can't help if you're going pyschotic.” What an insufferable man. And yet, at the very core of his words, - her greatest fear. What if she was going crazy? Yes Doctor, I'm pretty sure I'm seeing visions of my dead husband. But I swear I'm not insane. It had started with his smell. A familiar mixture of leather, sweat, and light cologne. She lovedthat smell. Had looked forward to it at the end of each day. When he'd hold her after a performance, murmur into her ear, whisper all the lovely things he used to say. A few moons after that, it had amplified. Smell, mixed with sound. The monotone foundation of his baritone; smooth, steady, unwavering. As constant as the ocean, and comforting as rain. Every time it was him, saying her name, nothing more. But when she looked, there was nothing there. A cruel echo; a memory of another world- the world before the empire took over in a flash of violence and power the likes of which her land had been unprepared. And then...nothing. The headaches would pass, his memory would fade, take with it her determination, her resolve, her will to live. Call it pathetic;she knew it was- lots of people had lost others, but saying she should get over it was like telling a blind man to watch where he was going... they lacked the essential part of them required to perform the requested task. In her case; her heart. Her mind and body had come to Eorzea; her spirit had not. And then finally, the other day, at the edge of her vision... as things were going black; as the headache took hold- sunk it's teeth in her like some rabid jackal... there he had been. A ghost. An apparition. He reached out to her, called her name, the world had spun, and faded to black. When she awoke, she was sure it had been a dream. Had to have been a dream. There's no way he could have joined her, in this far away place, where the people were welcoming, but only if you weren't a burden. IfI could just get the memory of him out of my head...but did she want to move on? Is that what she really wanted? To let him fade, like the distant notes of a forgotten melody carried on the wind? Be adaptable; he used to say to her, because he knew she was not. She was set in her ways; liked what she liked... hated change. She frequented the same cafe's in the mornings. Went to the same tailor for her dresses... walked the same pathways going to and from rehearsals. She was not someone who liked... spontaneity. And yet she was trying. To make him proud. To change her ways. To meet new people, explore different places... walk the paths she had never before had the courage to walk. But where this was all leading her was unknown, and that frightened her more than she cared to admit. The worst part of all this... if this wasn't just some... hallucination; if his spirit really had crossed oceans just to be near her... then that meant that he really was dead. “And I don't think I can handle that,” she said aloud, the water swirling into the drain at her feet. “I know for a fact I cannot. You can wound my heart... squeeze it dry- wrench the blood from it til all that remains is a twisted husk... but if you take my hope... if you take that from me; what have I left that is worth living for?” She stared at the water, disappearing down the drain, but neither it nor the steam had any answers.
  20. Hello and welcome! Diplomat character sounds really cool. Would be happy to do with you at some point.
  21. Oh all of La Noscea's beautiful! I definitely need to think up an excuse to explore it some more. I think my favorite part of it would be all the comfy little fishing spots; there's hardly anything cozier in the game. Is your character a fisher? Sayuri is not... though it'd certainly be fun to see her try it! The whole thing would probably gross her out which is ample reason to force her into a scene about fishing. She likes ports because she likes to watch the ship's come in. She's a romantic soul and all. Claire... well she likes to use explosive bait. Not sure she gets the concept that the fish are supposed to be edible after you catch them...
  22. 'Everyone's favorite place to rp'... that's a pretty neat question. Claire has the Thanalan in her bones, and loves several locations sprinkled throughout the desert, whether it be the hot springs in South Thanalan, the Goblet, Ul'dah, or just finding a bed of rock to test some of her explosives on. But closest to home for her is the Drybone area. There's a shallow pool of water nearby, that even has a tent set up next to it. I like to pretend she camps out under the stars there, dreaming of her eventual plan to rule... er.... protect Eorzea. As for Sayuri, she's grown fond of La Noscea, particularly the port towns like Aleport and Moraby Drydocks. There are indeed some beautiful places in this game, and glad to have you here to enjoy them!
  23. I played a wandering Raen monk for awhile. Sadly, there is not a lot of lore on Raen. That's why the xpac is exciting, as well finally get a look at Doma/Othard, along with the obligatory massive lore dump from quests and the like The easy thing to do is create a somewhat generic backstory as far as it pertains to their homeland, have your character live in the present and not talk about the past much, and then fill in backstory details as you discover more during SB. Anyway, welcome to Balmung!
  24. D'aw thanks! Yuri thought Rhen was just nice as could be too! And I'm sure she's be happy to play for Mischief's!
  25. My singer/songwriter/violinist Raen Sayuri is looking for steady gigs at your restaurant or bar! Let her dulcet tones and soothing melodies wash over your guests as they enjoy their seared steaks and Amber ales. She has reasonable (IC only) rates, and is willing to put on hour long shows... either as the main entertainment or as background music. Additionally, she has decided to begin looking for a free company to operate out of, provided they are of an agreeable temperament. Sayuri is a gentle and polite soul, willing to aid in household duties, provided she has a room where privactly is respected. Thanks and hope to hear from some of ya!
