Well Sayuri definitely doesn't really fit the title of Mr. Right (last I checked anyway) but she's a gentle, polite soul that sounds like she might make a good friend for Sekt. Better yet, I have a friend in Azeyma's Oath so it'd be easy to concoct a reason for them to bump into each other. I certainly do try to rp with everyone on my list who seems willing to rp with me, and most nights if I've got nothing going on i find an event to go to... so why not go together!? Let me know if you'd like an add and we can cook something up.

I'm also fairly new to RP but was able to get my toes wet. I'd love to RP with you and help you out. Your character can actually be quite useful to mine. Wyznwyta is a scholar and needs either an escort to dangerous areas and/or someone to do reconnaissance. Name: R'eiya 'Claire' Hargrave Sex: F Race: Seeker of the Sun Age: 19 Rp Style: I prefer swashbuckling adventure to guts, torture n Gore. Not to say I'd 100% shy away from mature themes but would need to OOC discuss it first. Claire is a healthy dose of comedic relief, but can be serious (she can, I swear!) Rp Romance: Claire is bisexual and partial to 'right-sized' folks (midlanders, miqo'te, and female au ra. Sorry tall/small folk!) While I do enjoy romance rp, And hope Claire finds someone... she is 19. She's more apt to date around then fall instantly in love with the first person to ask her out. She also has a lot of shit she wants to do, and will spend ample time adventuring with allies and friends, so romance rp will not always be her first choice. I am fine with fade to black or mature romance. Other Relationships: Claire was raised in an orphanage and doesn't know her heritage. I know she's a Raptor, and would love to set up fellow tribesmen introducing her to her past, or established relationships with other orphans she grew up with. Let me know! Rp Combat: As I said I'm not a blood and guts person, but I do love action and combat. I'm fine with either dice or freeform, provided there is OOC communication first to ensure our styles dont wildly clash. Views on Lore: Claire is an engineer and actively seeks to push the boundaries of technology in Eorzea, which may make some people uncomfortable. But I do try to base everything on lore. Log-in Times: You can usually find me after 10pm US EST, or throughout the day Wednesday/Sundays (my two days off). I can often log on a little earlier for rp appointments though. But I would absolutely love for her to find fellow musicians to play and perform with. Rp Combat: At this time, Sayuri will not participate in combat RP. However, if there is anyone out there with extensive knowledge of the AST storyline that can help her figure out these headaches she's been having.. Views on Lore: I don't foresee Sayuri causing any lore problems.

Hrm... the first question isn't 'how much lore should I respect', but 'how available do I want my character to be'? Like all things, there is a spectrum in rp, from the super lore strict to the 'what is lore?' It's not up to anyone other than you where you fall in that spectrum, but the closer you are to the middle baseline of lore friendly, the more rp you'll have available to you. I've been in a community where there was a game of thrones themed guild as an example, and I'm sure they had fun amongst themselves and if that's what you're looking for that's great! Just realize your character may not fit into the wider community. I will say working with the established lore can seem very daunting at first, but can be very rewarding. Ask a lot of questions, whittle away the aspects of your character that don't quite fit, and strengthen the ones that make them exciting members of Eorzea. Or find a small group that's loose on lore and go crazy. Ultimately the choice is up to you! But rp is fun so dont get discouraged!

I had this idea awhile back too and thought it would be really fun. Unfortunately the character I had the idea for is no more. I do have a musician that would be interested in sharing her music this way.

@Edda; will certainly keep that in mind. As cool as it would be to have two turntables and a microphone, was definitely trying to respect lore in regards to what instruments my character would have available to them. I was leaning either piano or violin, and it sounds like they wouldn't cause too much fuss as 'is this lore accurate'

I know there is a French horn, harpsichord, cello and harp. Would it be such a big stretch to say there are acoustic guitars, violins, pianos, and traditional Japanese stringed instruments come over with the Au Ra invasion?

I once rp'd with Aya, over a year ago with a character named Claire. She was struck by Aya's good looks and Grace, and I was struck by the player's cheerfulness and friendliness!

It requires a lot of OOC communication but can be very rewarding. Personally, I've only done it as my characters family members or best friends, as half the fun of rp for me is finding out who your characters SO, adversaries, and circle of friends is going to be. ESPECIALLY if you're playing a shy character, it can be extremely beneficial to establish a pre existing friendship with a social butterfly character, who can help introduce your shy wallflower. Again, OOC communication: I'm looking for a socially active friend who will help my shy character get involved' should help you find what you're looking for.

Cool thanks. If anyone gives me flak I'm going to say Verad and Aya said it was okay. As for better than average mount, my thought was someone modifying the technology to try and push forward Eorzea's first ever magitek mech race circuit (or maybe it's not first ever)

Title. Is it totally feasible or pushing the envelope too much on what technology is available in Eorzea at this time? It's for a character concept I'm playing around with.
