Regarding the Localization of Haurchefant in the EN/FR/DE Versions of FFXIV
Kage replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
So, your original is actually how the localization team went 'behind' Yoshi-P's back to change it. His newer, 'flirty', side was them trying to gradually bring him to how he is. Would you have preferred 2.0 Haurchefant or the fullblown flirt bordering on creep? -

To be honest, I'm not sure why you would be too concerned with the time bubble aspect as it really only applies to people who are focused upon staying within the timeline of the whole 2.0, between 2.0-3.0 or afterwards. The birth date isn't in a time bubble and I haven't met many players who actually care to distinguish what year/date/era their character is born. Most I meet just say that they've lived for about 25 years etc. I mean, your character isn't 5 years or younger right? I fail to see why the time bubble would really affect the characters birth.

Let's identify what you think is the problem and work from there and perhaps this will help you make the connections that will make you happier. 1. You are obviously not content with the RP you get. Now, questions about this. What about the RP you get now do you dislike? Do you think you are roleplaying not enough? How much do you roleplay? Then, are you dissatisfied with the type of roleplay you are getting? What are you interested in getting into? Are you looking for long plots?

Duty Finder - Duty Roulette Queues by Zhexos Once more we'd like to thank everyone for their continued feedback regarding Duty Finder matching speeds. We've been reading comments from players pointing out there may be specific issues that haven't been addressed. Using this information, and the player matching data itself, the development team investigated the issue. As a result, they were able to determine that there may be cases where the matching queue for the Duty Roulette halts under specific conditions. The conditions are as follows: When a pre-made party queues for a Duty Roulette, and their party consists of three or fewer members, there is a possibility where that group will be matched with another pre-made group that also consists of three or fewer members under certain conditions. This in turn causes an unusual party setup to be made which results in all queues behind this halting. Once the above issue occurs, all queues created after this, whether they be solo or in a pre-formed party, will be matched into a queue that is suspended which results in these long queue times. The queue that was suspended will resume under certain conditions; however, it can take a long time until this happens, causing congestion in Duty Roulette matching. Additionally, this situation has a high possibility of occurring during peak hours. Because of this, individuals may think that the queue speed fluctuates depending on the time of day that they're queueing. This issue only occurs when queueing for Duty Roulettes, and doesn't affect the Duty Finder's normal matching system. We were able to address this issue on our end, and we're currently working to implement a hotfix by the end of the week. However, we must make sure that it's properly tested, therefore we would like some additional time to do checks. We apologize for the inconvenience this and other related issues have been causing players. Additionally, we have received feedback from players requesting that we revert the Duty Roulette matching system to a pre-Patch 3.1 setup. However, the individual content matching that content in Patch 3.1 utilizes was built on top of the new matching system. Therefore, reverting the system will greatly affect these, as well as require even more time for investigation. So we're carefully addressing the issue and putting our efforts into optimizing the current system. The previous algorithm used a system where it first selected content and then looked for participants, whereas the new algorithm will first form a party as quickly as possible and then select the content. This new system was developed to provide a much quicker matching experience for everyone. We are aware that there have been issues, especially inconveniencing those trying to utilize the Duty Roulette; however, based on data we've been investigating, we can confirm the matching speed outside of the Duty Roulette is faster than that before Patch 3.1. Once more, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and would appreciate your understanding as we work to address this issue.

Regarding the Localization of Haurchefant in the EN/FR/DE Versions of FFXIV

The stereotyping would have been seen as "gay's behavior that seems very predatory and near sexual harassment keeps bothering me, the WoL. the gay is a creeper!" A lot of people still think that gays prey on the people they are attracted to. "WhAT IF THEY WANT ME? I DONT WANT THEM HITTING ON ME OMG GO AWAY GAY" So this 'problematic' behavior could have been seen as bad because it showed Haurchefant as a creepy gay guy or just a creepy guy. They started toning it down in the middle of the 2.x patches by bringing him more in line with JP Haurchefant. But I can easily see veryangrySJWtype of people being super offended by what they could have seen as creepy behavior or that a bisexual character is being shown as creepy. You can't always win. -
Thank you Chachanji and Tiergan I'm a little doopy at work but I'm glad to put Kage at work more. So much RP within 7 days of my birthday, it's like a birthday present!

Regarding the Localization of Haurchefant in the EN/FR/DE Versions of FFXIV
Kage replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
The main problem that people seem to have with the change is the reason why it occurred, not so much that there was a change in the first place. If they changed his personality because they wanted to match his 2.0 one, that's a fine reason. But changing him for the reasons that they stated has understandably upset people. This is the case, now, however the only reason YoshiP even said something or knew about it was because of the large hooplah when people found out that they were different. Some people just don't like the fact that there is -change-. The fact that he was different rustled peoples jimmies. -
Depending on the vanity mount, I'd jump. I already have my choice magitek which is why I won't leap for these but if they gave other types, hell yeah I'd buy it if I wanted it. If I could buy Fenrir I would. I'd also buy a flying tortoise. I'm perfectly happy with the vanity mounts I have now but if I got more that I liked just as much? FUCK YEAH HERE'S MY WALLET

Most of is can't quite confirm or deny other servers' RP activity. We are predominantly Balmung players, with a bit of Gilgamesh players and a smaller amount who post occassionally looking for rp/connections from XYZ servers. We can only tell you that it's abundant and thriving ok Balmung (you can practically see it all the time if you go to the hot spots, no matter the time zone). We can only say that we have seen an occasional 1-10 players looking for rp or talking about rp on the servers you've mentioned.
