Pyralis studied the female in the half-life and took in her image. She was not pretty by any means but had a strange attraction to her. This woman had led him through a passage of darkness and they had emerged into a cesspool of the undesirables of Limsa. It felt like home! After her odd smile and the three things she had to share the bard chuckled for a solid minute before crossing both arms behind his back and tensing his body to show his firm frame. So the woman knew more things about him than he did about her. Things were about to get interesting. The thrill of the hunt and gamble had left the bard desiring to continue this charade and game with the miqo'te. Finally after ending his chuckling he spoke up in an amused voice, "My lady...clearly I am a man of desires. Aye I use to have lovely times with the ladies at that fine establishment. As for the three things...a warning is always nice before the dagger is placed firmly in ones back. Protection? Oh my lady, I counted at least 42 times where I could have killed you...I think I'm fine without -your- protection. As for the mischief, I am -always- interested in mischief. My offer to show you the best hours of your life stands of course if you would kindly share your name and intentions." Pyralis would give the miqo'te a devilish smirk and a wink. Yes...things were about to get interesting indeed.

Pyralis entered the shadows and tried to follow the woman. She was navigating so well she must be a keeper. Now the odds were truly against him and a single bead of sweat formed on his brow. But he kept his heart and breathing normal while following not too close to the woman. Pyralis didn't know what her end game was but he was playing an awfully dangerous game. Cat and mouse is never fun when you're the mouse. Pyralis quieted his foot steps so it was near impossible to hear and picked up the pace. He kept one hand forward as to not bump into anything and the other at his back with the shiv ready. He called out in a playful tone, "Oh sweet lady, all this anticipation has me ready to burst. How much longer till we get to enjoy each others company? "
-
Pyralis grinned at the raspy female voice and tightened his grip on the shivs. A million positive and negative thoughts were flying through his head as he considered the possibilities. It would be a big gamble to enter a dark alley with a stranger who had paid a busty barmaid to chase him out of the tavern. But unfair fights were his favorite, a little blood and pain never killed anyone, or did it? Hells why not take a gamble? It was a good day to die if any. The bard called back as he stepped forward into the shadows, “Oh my lady, do not stir up passions if you are unprepared to deliver.”
-
The bard looked to the swinging tail before it disappeared into the shadow. So was this an ally, foe, or potential scorned lover. The bard tossed the mug aside and straightened himself out showing he was clearly nowhere near drunk. He placed both hands behind his back and put on a devilish smile in an attempt to ease whoever was behind the shadows. He would gaze down at her boots and notice their poor condition. Perhaps the girl was a lady of the night? Curiosity had gotten the best of him and he spoke in a polite and inquisitive tone, “Oh really? I’ve taken many lovely women to bed dear voice in the shadows. Play your cards right, have a drink with me, and you might possibly be in for the time of your life. Come out from the shadows and I promise to reward you with a kiss and a song. Or stay in the shadows and I’ll patiently wait here and hear what you have to say.” The bard would place two hands on shivs he kept behind his back, although to the eye it merely looked like he was folding his hands.

What was it about the smell of shame and ale that always seemed to attract Pyralis to these places? As he walked in and took in the atmosphere he realized why he was attracted to it. It represented chaos and fun in a small portion of Eorzea. It was great since not only the wicked came to taverns but the good wanting to be wicked did as well. Those goodie goodies who always claimed to be so self-righteous and holier than thou would come here, get sloshed, and make terrible mistakes. Sometimes Pyralis would be there to rob them blind or bed a decent enough girl. He grinned as he saw he had caught the eyes of two women and interestingly enough a man. The looks were a common occurrence as he was a bard, a handsome one at that. As he approached his usual table a girl with a quite admirable bust approached him. The bard suppressed a grin and put on his usual soft, gentle, and inviting smile. Someone wanted to meet him outside, this he did not like. He nodded thanks to the girl before putting a hand under her chin and whispering sweet words into her ear. As she turned around and swooned away from the bard’s words he put on a serious expression. The bard began to casually dust himself off but he was really checking to make sure he had his daggers, poisons, and powders in place in case the person outside did not want just a friendly word. These days he was a wanted man by many; not in the good way either. Pyralis snatched a mug from a table he was walking by as the man drinking it was not paying attention and headed outside. He faked a staggered drunken walk as he got outside and said in a slurred speech, “Oye who’s there?”

Pyralis is totally a baddie, I swear.

The lalafell would freeze up and his eyes would dart around in a panic. Meanwhile Pyralis would run through Gridania hoping to escape via aetherport. He saw multiple wood wailers heading to the tavern at a furious pace, they clearly looked upset and ready to crack skulls. Pyralis merely chuckled as he placed his hand on the aether crystal. The tavern was a madhouse. Even the woman were joining in on the fight. Two tall highlander females were headed towards the two females watching the chaos unfold. They did not look like they simply wanted to share a word.
-
The tavern was in full swing now. As the Roegadyn continued fighting and throwing objects it hit several patrons. Other patrons began fighting and soon the whole tavern erupted in objects and fist flying. A strange lalafell shivered in the corner rocking back and forth in fear. A stray mug caught the lalafell in the head and drew blood. When the lalafell reached to touch his forehead, the sight of his own blood made him go mad. The lalafell would snatch a broom that was lying near his feet, set it on fire with a small fire spell, and proceed to run around the room screaming bloody murder at the top of his lungs. If anyone thought this was a simple bar fight, it just got real. The lalafell continued to scream at the top of his lungs, waving around a lit broom. Meanwhile Pyralis thrown off by the chaos was kneed and punched by the man he had pinned. As he rolled off and shot back up to his feet he took a look at his handy work. He would put on a look of shock and point to the lalafell in hopes to distract the man. "Bloody shite man look what you did! The place is a mad house!" If the man would look Pyralis would sucker punch him as hard as he possibly could. It not the bard would simply put his fist up and wait for an assault. If the sucker punch lands, the bard will simply step back shout to the bar, "and now my exit!" And proceed to run off to avoid the chaos.

Dresden and Pyra are best friends! But Pyra is an exile...and Dresden is a hunter....oh boy. -
The man reacted just as Pyralis wanted, although the threat of a spanking was quite odd. The drunken patrons of the tavern decided to keep their eyes on the fight unfolding. Some men even began to take wagers in the far off corner. Pyralis wasn't concerned with any of that. He just wanted to tussle, spill some blood, and take a few licks. As the man reached to grab Pyralis, the bard would roughly be pulled towards him and attempt to charge at him to take him to the floor. If successful the bard would wrestle with the man on the floor to try and pin him down. Meanwhile two rowdy Roegadyn patrons would start fist fighting and throwing objects everywhere. Who ever was in the tavern might be hit by all the objects flying around.

Pyralis saw his two targets but had trouble deciding who to engage first. The miqo'te had sat down with a bunch of boxes...on a normal day he'd try to engage her in conversation and offer her the comforts of his room. Today was not a day for pleasures of the flesh, he would be dead soon, he just knew he would be. Aside from that he had too many problems with miqo'te in his life. The Hyur male was already giving him an eye so he'd have to throw the first punch carefully maybe provoke the man first. A thousand scenarios were going over his head as he lifted himself from his stool with an ale in hand and made his way first to the miqo'te. As he staggered to her table he would roughly knock over her boxes with one hand and proceed to make his way to the Hyur while chuckling to himself. As he approached the man he spoke roughly, "Oye mate...I saw you givin' me an awful unfriendly look when you got in." Pyralis would take a long drink and with a mouthful of ale in his mouth he would attempt to spit it in the Hyur's face. If successful he'd simply grin at the man and say, "Welcome to Gridania you ugly bastard." If unsuccessful, he would be prepared to jump back from retaliation of the man.

Pyralissat in the Carline Canopy in Gridania drinking his seventh ale. He wanted tonight to be memorable in case he didn't make it...In case it all ended in a couple of days. The tavern was busy and many people were already sloshed as it was. Pyralis finished his remaining ale with one last big gulp and let out a loud burp to announce to Eorzea he was ready. If he was going to die he had to squeeze in one last bar fight. One last big brawl that all throughout the land would talk about for ages. The bard sat back in his chair and stared at the entrance of the tavern. The next person that walked through that door was going to get the fight of their life. A bar fight that they will later say was one of the greatest fights of their life. A fight so great they might become best friends after, or arch enemies. Pyralis ordered his last ale with a ting of spiciness to it. Man, woman, creature of the void...come meet the exiled bard.

Oh boy....where to begin? You'll see soon enough. -
Pyralis pushed his chocobo harder. The poor creature was not use to being pushed to these extremes, through this cold. He was finally here though, the place he faintly remembered as a child...Coerthas. The bard continued to push his mount while taking in the frozen surrounding. Memories of Kiht kicking him out of the Exiles would flash across his mind at times, she told him he wasn't one of them anymore. Pyralis refused to accept that. Behemoth's pass...I hope I'm not too late. They better be alive, he thought as the chocobo came to a halt. The chocobo was panting heavily so Pyralis left him tied to a tree and made the rest of the way on foot in a mad dash. Please Kiht....just be alive. As he was approaching he froze in place and hid behind a tree at what he saw. A Face of Mercy and a group of seven soldiers with him. They were making haste somewhere. The exiles...they're alive! The bard grinned but it quickly vanished. This group of soldiers were coming as reinforcements, the exiles couldn't afford to take another group. The choice had to be made now...take on this group and possibly be killed or turn around, walk away, and leave them to their fate. Pyralis clenched his fist and shook his head, I am NOT a coward, I owe Kiht too much. He picked up his pace while taking out his bow and notching an arrow. The group stopped to catch their breath while the Face was barking out orders. Pyralis slowed his breath and his heart beat, which was quite difficult after running for so long. He focused on the group and charged an arrow with aether to let forth a rain of death on enemy. As the arrow left the string with a snap the Face quickly looked in his direction, he grabbed the nearest man as the arrow split and formed a volley of arrows. Three of the soldiers took arrows in face and chest as they slumped to the ground without making a sound. Two had taken an arrow in the shoulder and knee and were on the floor in pain, screaming. The other two and the Face were unharmed. The face roughly shoved the unharmed human shield aside and pointed in Pyralis' s direction. The two remaining men took out their short bows and began shooting at the tree he was hiding behind. The Face took out a sword and a shield and began creeping in his direction. Pyralis hid behind the tree as arrows kept producing a dull thud sound against the tree. The bard notched another arrow and pulled back from the tree as a sword came flying towards him. The slash cut the arrow head off and Pyralis stumbled backwards as he let loose an arrow at the Face. It simply hit the man's chest plate and he chuckled. The other two soldiers were charging forward arrows notched and ready. "I don't suppose if I said sorry we could all go for a drink?" Pyralis said stepping back slowly. The Face charged forward trying to close the distance while slashing at him with his sword. Pyralis tried to keep space and block using his bow as best as he could. The Elezen had height and reach, this was not a fair fight. Pyralis tried to keep the Elezen moving and in front of him as the two archers tried to get clear shots on him. He couldn't back up forever and a couple of more whacks with that sword against his bow and it would snap. An arrow whizzed by his neck and his eyes widen. The bard risked it and pushed forward swinging wildly at the Face who easily swatted it aside with his shield. The Face went to swing with his sword but Pyralis used the momentum to move aside and charge the soldiers at the sides. An arrow took him in the shoulder while another missed him. The soldiers eyes widen as Pyralis jumped into the air and brought the pointy side of the bow down into the man's skull. A squishy sound could be heard as the other soldier prepared another arrow. The Face was turning towards him and now charging forward again. The soldier let loose another arrow that grazed the bards cheek. Pyralis began to charge him as well and throw a dagger from his side at the soldier. It hit the man dead in the eye and he fell without a sound. He lost track of the Face behind him and felt steel slash across his back. Pain immediately shot through his him as he dove forward narrowly missing another swing. He rolled forward and laid on his back as the Face tossed aside his shield and grabbed the sword with two hands for an overhead swing. Pyralis yanked his quiver in front of him as the sword came crashing down. The sword met the quiver and the Face continued to push the sword down into the quiver and Pyralis struggled underneath. He was losing blood from his shoulder and back, the pain was flaring up and it was difficult to have this power struggle with the Face. The Face continued to push down on the sword trying to cut through the quiver, as he did so he leaned down and pressed his face near Pyralis, "You will die as well as all your friends. There is no escape.Accept your death." Pyralis grunted and spoke, "You have it all wrong...mate...I'm just here for payback. Fuck the exiles." Pyralis glanced to the side and saw the broken arrowhead, his mind raced and he weighed the risk of reaching for it. If he did nothing, that quiver would break and he'd be dead. It was time to gamble. Pyralis let go of the quiver and quickly reached for the arrow head as the sword went through the quiver slightly and lodged itself into the Bard's shoulder that had the arrow already in it. The Face was shocked and did not see Pyralis grab the arrowhead and ram it into his eye. The bard screamed in pain as the sword dug in and the Face fell back howling. Pyralis quickly yanked the sword from his shoulder and would swing it down wildly on his enemy. Blood sprayed everywhere... He must of blacked out as he stood over the corpse which was a mess, hacked limbs, body parts strained about. He held the sword in shaky hands. He looked over to the two remaining men who simply stared in horror at Pyralis. They were injured and would be unable to run or fight. He would go to the men and proceed to butcher them the same way as he picked up the sword. After it was all done, Pyralis would administer first aid to himself and head back to his chocobo bloody and wounded. Hopefully the others made it out okay. As he rode back, he had a smile on his face the entire time.

The Inglorious Bardster (Closed/OOC Comments Welcome)

((Kiht, the three are still in play as they have been paid and will carry out the job till they are dead. This wraps up the story arc for Aurifort and Pyralis as well as Sarah being rescued)) They all stood away from the stronghold as it burned up in flames. There were bodies everywhere. Groans of dying men and women could still be heard, screams as well of those unlucky enough to be trapped inside with no chance to escape. Former slaves were still running out of the stronghold, towards freedom. Pyralis stood next to Yangh, Gwen, Lina, and Sarah viewing the horrors of the past and present burn up. No one spoke, they all simply stood there, bloodied, bruised, and broken watching. Pyralis held on to a deep gash in his stomach and wondered what was going through all the others minds. His own thoughts were remembering his childhood, his tortured childhood growing up in that nightmare. The payback they gave to Aurifort, the destruction of the stronghold, and rescuing Sarah had changed everything; Pyralis was finally starting to feel at peace. The tower had caused them the most problems and the massive Roegadyn was still out there; injured but out there. The group had no choice but to try and go through him to get to Aurifort. The battle was chaotic and left them all injured. Even Yangh had taken a beating from the massive giant. Eventually he was subdued and sent through a hole in the wall to plummet to the ground below. But Pyralis knew he would survive the fall, that damn creature survived everything. Thankfully they all arrived in time as Aurifort was on top of Sarah. Afterwards, they all shared a piece of their minds with the Elezen; Lina and Sarah most of all. Pyralis and Yangh shortly after set the place ablaze as they all made their grand exit. The former slave girl Lina stood taller and more confident; it made Pyralis happy to see. He knew this wasn’t the end yet, this was just the start of something bigger. The master was still out there and probably seething in anger after losing one of his most important hubs. But this would cripple him and his network. They could all breathe easier and have some peace for a while. Now was the time for them to spread out, heal up, and go their separate ways. This was the chance at a fresh start, a new life, and Pyralis was glad to take it. He finally turned and said to the group, “It’s probably best we each go our separate ways. We all need to recover and now that one of the master’s most important strongholds is gone he’ll have a difficult time finding any of us if ever.” He looked to Gwen and gave her a nod for an understanding between the two. Pyralis turned and took in a deep breath, determined to find the tower to tie up the last loose end. Afterwards, he could finally rest. After all these years he could finally just rest; just one last monster to put in the ground. -
