1. He cocked his head a bit, a slightly confused look crossing his face. Hadn't he given his name to her? Did she mean his other name, as she had with "Oath Judge"? Or maybe she meant....Tabart. "I'm not sure what you mean..." He wanted to be certain before saying more.
2. This. Agree completely. I love everyone's screenshots! But the second I see Clover's I get all *squeeeee!!* They are really gorgeous shots. Mine....well I struggle just to keep myself in the shot. :frustrated:
3. Sometime Later.... With the winds off the sea blowing his dark hair, Ruru sat on the docks in Limsa smiling. He'd finally settled, finally found some peace. It was a new peace, one he'd earned and while his life had changed, he knew it was for the better. He was a new man with a new purpose. He gripped the leatherworking knife and chuckled. It was a good cover business. Would allow him to make money for the two of them and also keep eyes off of his side enterprise. Moving goods or people in and out of the city would be easier behind the veil of a leatherworking shop. Kink had taught him well and he meant to ensure her lessons weren't lost on him. He'd put Ul'dah behind him, with the exception of a few memories. The city had burned him and he wanted little to nothing more to do with it. His former contacts....people he'd called friends, had abandoned him. The thought made his brow furrow in frustration and he allowed himself one last glimpse. The letters he'd sent them had been ignored....never returned or answered. The man had broken his promise to Ruru and that seething memory was one that Ruru tucked deeply inside his mind, one thta would fuel him should the two ever meet again. Standing, he pushed the thought aside. He wouldn't waste another moment on those in Ul'dah that had caused him pain. For now he needed to get to work, and needed to get back to Alulu before she worried where he was.
4. Wha....? This made me sad. This is not good news at all. Hope you come back soon Gus.
5. Things weren't going along as he'd hoped, and Nono was fuming in his room. There was no pushback against the Paladins, something fun he'd hoped for. No mass revolt against the Blades. He kicked the bed, a move an insolent child would and sat down on the mattress, cupping his hand in his chin as he pondered his next move. He was no closer to finding Ruru and it irritated him. He held his hand out in front of him and popped small bursts of flame above his palm. The dancing fire was small, just a tease of what he typically unleashed. The dark arts had always tempted him, and he enjoyed the flames. Snapping his palm closed, he extinguished the flame and nodded. He needed to get back to it, and that meant heading back to the Quicksand.
6. The arrow had nearly struck him and slammed into the carriage. Ruru froze in place knowing that wasn't a miss. He'd trained in the archer's guild...knew a warning when he saw it. He slowly raised his hands as the Ixal swarmed in. He wasn't afraid of them....it was the ones he couldn't see. The one out there in the Shroud, watching them, unseen. The ones who had fired the warning shot. They were the ones keeping him at bay. His eye darted around, taking a mental note of who was there...some of the party had gone in different directions and he prayed to the Twelve they hadn't been killed. But he guessed they might not be...at least not yet. For had the Ixal wanted them dead, from their vantage point, they would have already cut them down. So the question burning through his mind was simple: Why weren't they already dead?
7. Well yeah! You didn't kn.....oh....you're her. Uhmmmm.....hehe.....this is awkward. LOOK OVER THERE, IT'S THE MOST CUTE MOOGLE EVER!!! *runs*
8. The boy looked about making sure he was alone. At this hour the streets were generally deserted and the guilds were all but abandoned. He had been busy for the past hour, skulking about in the night hours, as he'd been paid to do; well paid. He was a poor boy, and without a roof over his head, Pearl Lane his home for some time now. And the Lalafell had paid him handsomely. All he had to do was post these notices around the city guilds and then keep quiet. It was a simple enough instruction and he was so hungry that the coin offered made up for any doubts he may have had at the curious posting. He tacked up his last one and walked away to the market, hoping to be able to get a meal for once in a long while. The posting he'd just done was near the Weavers Guild, and read (as many others did): ATTENTION BRASS BLADES Your services are no longer required in the city of Ul'dah nor in the areas surrounding the city. As your concerns are driven by the coin we have sought fit to remove your presence by force if necessary. Only last night we had to deal with one of your members outside the city. Since you are not interested in the safety of the city nor its citizens, we expect you take your people elsewhere. If you remain, your safety cannot be guaranteed. Signed, The Free Paladins of Ul'dah
9. -The following day- Nonotano looked at the dead man at his feet, the scorched armor and skin an indicator that he'd been killed in a vicious way. He knelt down and smiled. The Blade had been wandering alone in the wrong area at the wrong time when he'd run into Nono. Nono had been skilled at making himself look more helpless and childlike than he really was and the Blade had fallen for it and had paid for it with his life. "Ah but fear not....your sacrifice will reap a bounty for this game I'm playing." He limped to his satchel and pulled out a fine sword, admiring it. He'd purchased it at the market the night before. It was a Paladin's weapon...sized for a Lalafell but the make and markings made it easily identifiable. Unsheathing the blade he looked down at the dead man and then back to the blade. He swung the blade down hard, and it struck into the dead man's flesh, cleaving deeply, still fresh blood slowly pooling out. He swung again three more times, ensuring the blade was covered in blood before stabbing it into the corpse's stomach and leaving it. "Sorry friend....but dead men don't need to look all that pretty." Breathing a bit hard from the sword swings he gathered the satchel and looked back toward the gates of the city and began walking toward them and paused. His hand rose, and he summoned a blast of fire not at the man but at the ground surround the corpse. The ground erupted and the dust settled. He was confident that would disturb any footprints enough. Walking back to the city he was quite pleased with himself. Not only was Ruru in trouble, he was also entertaining himself in the meantime, hoping two institutions tore themselves to pieces.
10. He bowed himself, and smiled at her. "Nothing else at this time, Sergeant. I'd not keep such lovely woman from her duties. I appreciate the time and do hope you get the information to keep the city safe. If you find anything out about Ruru....please let me know. I miss my old friend....and I just want to help him get back on the right path." He straightened and turned to leave.
11. He watched her relax and mimicked his own posture, showing her that he was not any danger at all. "Yes...Pearl Lane, I'm confident of that. Was in the evening hours if I recall, two suns ago." He shook his head. "Ruru....I worry about him. He always talked about Ul'dah....loved the city guard...even you Sultansworn. I surely hope he hasn't brought any of those fine people over to his misguided delusions." He leaned closer and stared into her eyes. "I'm not telling you how to do your job.....but I'd watch your people. If anyone had any contact with Ruru....well...you never know." He shrugged and tilted his head a bit, as if puzzled by some unknown mystery that he knew he couldn't solve. "If we can find Ruru....then we might be able to root out any conspirators....or maybe the reverse is true..." He let the words hang in the air, as he wanted them to dig deep into her thoughts.
12. He lowered his hands slowly and smiled at the woman. "I didn't know they had women that looked like you in the Sultansworn....if I'd have known that I'd have changed professions years ago." He giggled, and shook his head. "Forgive me. I shouldn't talk that way to someone of your status." He grew serious and scowled a bit. "Ruru...the man I mentioned. He's an old friend of mine. And he's gotten himself into trouble. I was over in Pearl Lane and had overheard a Hyur woman...highlander type and a female Roe discussing something about 'hitting the city' and that their man in the city would take care of things. That's when I heard Ruru's name. I worry he's gotten himself involved in something over his head." He paused then shook his head a bit. "Tried to tell one of the Brass Blades yesterday and he told me it'd be a waste of his time without payment. That...that's just wrong."
13. He saw her from a distance, standing aloft, a symbol of the rot this city had grown over the years. A Sultansworn in the flesh. He forced his mouth from rolling into a scowl as she came closer into view and allowed himself a false smile, as he raised his hands in a peaceful manner. He limped closer and up the steps to where she was in earshot. "See? No tricks and unarmed. A simple weaver wouldn't really be able to arm himself so well I think." As he neared, he bowed, hands still showing. "I assume you must be Sergeant Crofte. I am Krell. Thank you for seeing me on this matter."
14. He nodded and began to limp away. "That's true good sir.....wouldn't want any accusations flying about. Thank you again." He limped away into the early morning streets, and with his back to the man, a wicked grin crossed his lips as he walked. Even if he didn't find Ruru, he was enjoying the possibility of widening the cracks in the city he no longer cared for.
15. He leaned in and in a low voice he said, "Ruru....while he's a good man at heart, is dangerous. But if I found him...I could take care of him." He giggled a little and shook his head. "That sounded awful...I mean I can talk him down...get him out of the place he's gotten to." He walked a few steps and paused. "Though I'd be careful. Doesn't seem to be anyone taking this threat seriously. I mean...I spoke to someone in the Sultansworn this just last evening and he laughed me off. Told me if I gave him enough coin he'd help." He shook his head. "I'd sooner trust the Brass Blades now at this point." He turned and offered a slight bow. "I do appreciate the time, good sir. Remember....please let me know if you learn anything. He's always been such a good friend and I hate to see him down this dark path."
16. Nono giggled at the comment softly, his childlike voice masking the cruel man that bore it. "I suppose so. Though it isn't really my quarry, but rather....yours?" He gestured at the man and crooked his head to the side a bit. "See....I'm clearly in no shape to defend the people here, nor my old friend, Ruru." He slowly limped around and leaned against some crates that lined the wall, sighing as he reached down to rub his knee, grimacing a bit as he did so. "My old injury....kicks up at this hour. Was run down by an Antelope in the shroud a few years ago. Ah but where was I? Oh yeah....well I'm not really skilled in much....I do a few odds and ends to make ends meet, but I can't even help Ruru, much less stop him." He looked up and sighed again. "He's my friend and I overheard a couple of Roe's...you know those big ones...two women in fact. They were talking in hushed voices....but I have keen ears. They were in Pearl Lane and discussing something about an attack and that their inside man was going to ensure it went down without a hitch. And that's when I heard Ruru's name. I know it isn't much...I couldn't even point out the Roes if I saw them...one was darker. The other....not so much." He stood and looked at Warren with a face that begged for help. "I don't know if anyone knows Ruru in this city, but anyone who might know him...that's who might be able to lead me to him. If I could talk to him....maybe talk him down..." He trailed off, seemingly lost in thought.
17. Nonotano walked confidently, the back streetways of the Steps of Thal echoing his light footsteps he made with his boots. The sounds were like a clock. Tap-TAP, Tap-TAP The limp always made the latter step sound louder, more methodical. Impending. He saw the large man waiting and for half a beat wondered if he'd maybe bitten off more than he could chew with this one. He continued forward and took a deep breath, running a hand through his red hair as he approached. "Lord Castille I presume? Krell." He offered a polite bow to the man.
18. Hey, see in my .gif where it said I could drown a toddler in my panties? Replace toddler with lalafell. Yeah. Oh.....oh myyy. *blush*
19. *The stealthy ninja scaled the wall and leapt through the air, as if a feather on the wind, crossing the clouds of Ul'dah with only light toe touches to the rooftops and then dove quickly upon sight of his target. The Sultansworn with years of training. The ninja, though new, was still a ninja. And he dove down, hoding his mega knives for the kill. The knives hit and the Sultansworn falls dead at the ninja's feet....because he is a ninja.* ALL YOUR RP ARE BELONG TO THE NINJA NOW!!
20. Nono looked at the two notes and chuckled. "Two eager folks. So quick to save the world that they replied the same day. Poor little Ruru." He stood in his room and jotted two response notes to send back. The first read as follows: Sergeant Crofte, It would by an honor to meet with you. I am only concerned with the safety of this city and its citizens. In one sun, near the Thaumaturge Guild, as the sun sets. Come alone, armed if you will. There will be no tricks, I assure you. Krell The second note read: Lord Castille, Thank for the rapid reply. I would be honored to meet with you. I am only concerned for the danger my old friend has seemingly placed himself in. We shall meet. In one sun, near the Mining guild, as the sun rises. Come alone, armed if you will. I will be unarmed and alone. Krell He put the inkpen down and laughed as he viewed both notes. Nono was playing a dangerous game, but was it any less dangerous than when he'd killed the Garleans in their own outpost? He'd heard enough of the buzz in the Quicksand to know that there were cracks in the Sultansworn. Maybe he could use this Ruru problem to exacerbate those cracks. After all. Why not have a bit of fun while he worked to ruin his little brother? He sent the letters off with a slight giggle limping back to the Quicksand.
21. I, however, hereby demand that the next offering be in the form of delicious Tom Hiddleston. Gotta earn my keep. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5xudcMwdi1r3nkzc.gif[/img]
22. Nonotano limped with purpose toward the Ul'dah marketboard. He had been thinking of a way to attract the attention of the guards in town and decided he had no interest in getting arrested. He arrived, and looked about. Ozmama had all but disappeared so he was having to do this alone. He always had the option of just letting Ruru go....but where would be the fun in that? He looked at the note in his hand, grinning at the words there. It was still early and the crowds hadn't filled the place. He tacked it quickly and then wandered away, viewing the shops casually. The note read: To the Sultansworn or any security arm within the city, I have recently come by some troubling and dangerous information regarding the Lalafell named Rurutani Sasatani. If you would hear more, please contact me. I fear he has gotten himself into contact with the wrong people and may soon act against someone in the city or the city itself. I fear for my own safety and so contact by mail would be most appropriate. Krell
23. But....I thought..... http://mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Dr.-Who.gif[/img]
