  1. He limped back to his room and cursed under his breath. She had provided him nothing. And he should have ended her there on the street, though that might have drawn unwanted....... .....attention. He stood and grinned. "Of course!" He whispered, hissing the words through clenched teeth. Why waste time, he thought, with searching. He recalled the scene vividly in his mind. His friendly wave to the sentries. His armor. He'd been close to them. And they would know something. Surely they would. The trick would be getting their attention.
  2. He eyed her and her words hung in the air. She didn't know. He nearly incinerated her for wasting his time, but he maintained the smile and and the demeanor. He bowed slightly. "Yes....Krell. Thank you Aya." He began to walk away and paused briefly. He turned and looked back at her, his face one of grave concern. "Please....if you remember anyone or anything....please let me know. Ruru....I fear he may be in terrible danger if I can't reach him." He turned and began to limp away.
  3. Oh, wow... I totally just looked into this thread at random and saw this. o///o I didn't even realize anyone else noticed her, haha. Then again, I'm terrible with chat scroll. Thank you! And yes, being the owner of an up-and-coming business without being able to see what she's doing has been an amusing challenge. *blushing potato rolls away* Wait you want to open a business too? Ruru is considering the same thing (but a different business altogether) in Limsa soon! *raises glass* Cheers!
  4. I think it's going to be based on personal flavor. I think your way is funny and I like it. Others won't. When the standard way happenes (and I do the standard way) it's easy to blow right past it without a second thought. Your way at least brings some life that and makes me actively read the log more. Again, others might see it as too informal and such, but if we're not allowed to have a bit of fun roleplaying, then why are we doing it?
  5. He sighed a bit and nodded. "I understand. I just wish there was someone.. someone who worked with him maybe. I know he'd always dreamed of joining the city guard...or even the Sultansworn, though he was always a bit of a dreamer." He giggled a bit, a saddned tone to it and shook his head. "But if you see him don't tell him I said that." Nono shiffled his feet a bit and glanced to the side before looking back at her. "Well....if you remember anyone...a name of someone I could get in touch with....could you possibly let me know. I am always around and can easily get my mail should you remember and I'm readily available. I just.....I miss Ruru. I'd love to just be able to say hello to him again after so long."
  6. So she did know him. And although she seemed to not know his whereabouts, she seemed fond of the little worm. He cocked his head to side a bit and pursed his lips a little. "So you do know him though. It's good to know he was here at least. Maybe....hmmmm....." He seemed lost in thought and tapped his forehead a bit with his finger as if he were solving a complex task in his mind. "Well...do you know of anyone he knows in the city or around here? I mean friends or anything. Maybe they've heard from him."
  7. It pretty much is, Warren. I just had the most ridiculous existential crisis at work wherein I panicked that you somehow knew my in-game name before remembering 1) You've met me in-game 2) my name is RIGHT THERE off to the left and 3) some other thing. ^^^^ This. Made me spit soda all over the place. Thank you.
  8. "You work there.....maybe you can help me. I have a friend....we grew up here together and I left the city some time ago...sort of lost touch with him." He looked a bit saddened at the statement and his eyes went to the ground. "He was like family to me. So it breaks my heart that we've gotten so far out of touch." He looks back at her with mildly pleading eyes. "His name is Rurutani....well I mean we all called him Ruru back when we were kids. He's around my height....a Lalafell like me. Has white hair. He may have come to the Quicksand." He chuckled softly. "Was always one for a drink now and then, that one."
  9. He stood and nodded his thanks, still beaming at her. "That sounds like an excellent idea. I've found the place be wonderful actually. Most taverns I enter tend to be less kept up than that. Nor do the employees look quite as good as you." He giggled and shook his head. "Forgive me the flirtatious nature. I can't help myself." He then paused and again looked at her with a puzzled expression.
  10. He laughed softly and shook his head, straightening the tunic as he did so. "Probably not...I've been there a few times, but not a regular. The name's Krell. A man of general skills and master of none of them." He laughed heartily at his own comment and extended a hand to her. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aya."
  11. He chuckled in a lighthearted manner at her joke and smiled at her, dusting himself off. "Of course! There are quite a bit...." He trailed off, completely choreographed in his mind and he looked puzzlingly at her, his index finger touching his chin briefly as the folks about them continued to chat and go about their business. "Do I know you?" He looked down for a moment, looking as though he were trying to solve an important riddle and then his face beamed with a flash of recognition and he snapped that same finger against his thumb, a very playful and friendly gesture. "I know you! Well....I mean I've seen you. You work at the Quicksand, right?"
  12. Urianger sees that post. "Crisiet knows too much now....." *taps Linkpearl* "Hail, brave adventurers, hark, a new primal threat has emerged....will you brave the wilds to slay this new threat known only as Crisiet?"
  13. Ruru had heard the sound, the metal hang in the air nearby and looked around with an instinctive crouch. His training had ensured an immediate defensive posture and awareness to circumstances like this. And while he hadn't worn the armor in a while, the Paladin instincts kicked in. That scraping metal sound...so close. That was the sound of....what? Danger. He dropped the rock he was carrying and looked aorund the group, attempting to get a read on who was present and who was not. He didn't want to panic anyone and he he moved at a rapid pace back toward the carriage....to his gear. He needed his blade. And while Kink would have his hide for breaking his cover, he didn't care at this point. His hide was preferable to losing his life in the woods.
  14. Two kudos: 1) To the few folks from the site I met over the weekend who were so kind and willing to chat. I am looking forward to Ruru meeting you IC soon! 2) To the folks in Limsa working so hard to establish the city as a solid rp place!! Daphine, Osric, Dogberry, Zhavi, Gus and so many others! Thank for working so hard to organize events and make the city alive! Makes me happy to have moved there and excited to see the dedication to get things going there.
  15. He looked up at her, the urge to shout inside of him rising, but he needed to quell that instinct. He needed the charm, not the wrath. Smiling widely, he shook his head. "No no....I'm fine. Are you okay? I'm so sorry....my head was somewhere else completely."
  16. Alrighty! :3 If you could post a good screenshot of his face, and then a full body screenshot that'd be great. <3 EEP! That may be difficult. I am on PS3 and cannot find my USB falsh drive (I have so many cool screens I want to post and cant. ) maybe I can find you in game and then you can snag some screens that work for you? Maybe? Sorry...
  17. I wanto be next! I'd love one of the full body and color shots for da gil! I have like no pics of Ruru so this would be awesome!
  18. Nono slipped out of his chair, the expression on his face not changing. He followed her out the door and wandered into the market. The bustle of people and the sunlight were a sharp contrast to his recent ventures, but he was used to them nonetheless. This had been his life for so long and he thrived here. The commerce, the deals, the coin exchaning hands. This was the part that his mother had never quite gotten down. The part his sister had so miserably failed to even grasp. And the part that Ruru never knew. Acquiring goods was one thing, but he had never known the thrill of the deal, the contracts or the money. He followed Aya at a distance until he saw her stop and look at some items at one of the stalls. He knew this was the time to begin. He took a deep breath and walked deliberately toward the stall and then as he neared, he forced himself to trip and stumble into her from her flank. He backed away and held his hands up in an apologetic manner and shook his head in an embarrassed way. With his short red hair and expression, he looked exactly how a child would when embarrassed for a major mistake. "Oh my!! I am so sorry! I can't even walk on my own two feet anymore."
  19. Looking at the debris, he knew it might be some time before they could get moving but he was ready to get a move on. He wasn't exactly looking forward to being stuck in the woods after dark. He remembered his time in the archer's guild and knew that the woods could be hazardous at night. He moved to the rubble silently, just ready to get to work. He was ready to relax once they arrived. And he wanted to get in touch with Alulu via the pearl he'd brought with him. He missed her back in Limsa already, like a schoolboy in love. He smiled and got to work.
  20. He heard the words. They sank in with weight. "I'm willin' to hire you until the next moon." His mind was racing still, his heart pounding in his chest as his adrenaline was coursing. He had taken a risky chance threatening the woman and yet......it had given him a thrill. To lash out in such a way. He'd always managed to restrain himself, to try and supress the urge to behave as he'd done. And yet this time he'd acted. And he enjoyed it. He realized she'd asked him a question about the docks and he nodded to her, slowly, trying to maintain focus and control his excitement. "Know the docks fair enough."
  21. Breathing heavy and still clenching his teeth, he slowly lowered his dagger. He kept his eye on her as he let himself down. Placing the dagger in his belt he didn't even look around as he took his seat across from her. He was sure he'd be killed and had instantly regretted his move. But he hoped it would work. "Aye....I'm done."
  22. He stood. It was a slow and deliberate motion. He stared at her with the lone and and took a deep breath. He had measured her for the past few minutes...took in her size and posture. He knew what he would do and Kink would likely kill him but he needed to make a statement. He moved fast, his loose fitting clothes less restrictive than his typical tunic or his Paladin gear. Ruru leaped upward, pulling his dagger fast. He needed to move quickly to make his move. He would only get one shot, if that. His body was airborne and he was on her, quickly moving the dagger to her throat. He leaned in fast breathing hard as he spoke through clenched teeth. "You want me to impress you? How's this for impressive? I could kill you here. One slash and it'd be over. You might get a blow in but you'd be dead soon after. I came to do business not be dicked around. You want me to impress you with blood? Then we do it outside." He was afraid. Genuinely afraid. This roe was not a rookie and she was seething...he knew that. "I'm going to lower this. Then we can talk like reasonable business people. But I'm killing no one in here today."
  23. He looked about, heard Kink cough and considered it. He leaned in and shook his head. "This ain't the place for a killing. Too public. Too much attention."
  24. He watched her look about and readied himself. He knew what she wanted...or at least thought he did and never took his eyes from her. "Anyone in particular? Or shall I just end the first man I run into over there?" He smiled, his voice had been playful, not vindictive. He imagined enjoying ending a man's life. Put himself in another's (his brother's) shoes. Brought on a sense of coldness and he would need it.
  25. He answered her, not in a boastful manner, but in an honest and practical way. "Spent some time in the gladiator's guild in Ul'dah, found the city to be pain the ass and decided to head north. Worked as a sellsword in Coerthas for a bit, independently mind you. Worked a bit through Gridania, picking up some archer skills. The damn woods are crawling with Wallers, though and figured I'd try my hand in Limsa. Sea air does me good. I've killed all manner of beasts, trekked through the worst of the tombs scattered through the land, and worked alongside good men and women alike." He stopped....he didn't want to oversell....tried to be as accommodating with his answer as he could while remaining vague. He didn't need specific details coming back to haunt him. "To sum up. I'm good enough that my blade will kill whatever the Heavy handers need me to kill."
