Chibi Ruru! [/img]

He snapped his eye up and looked at Miqo'te and maintained a straight face. "Perhaps....the one who turned his back did so because he felt that was his only option left. Perhaps he'd fallen so low and felt so alone that he left because he didn't think you were there for him any longer. If that were the case....maybe you need to talk to this man....try and see his perspective...before labeling one for betrayal." He considered the Mercenary's question and nodded. "Agree with Kage....forgiveness." His remained fixed on Kage as he said the words.

BANISHED!! Hehehe I'm just joking.

Ruru almost laughed too loudly when he heard the question and the dagger bit into his palm a bit as he recalled. "Imagine you are a young man, barely into adulthood. You have been away from home for a few days and then return to a welcoming home with your mother and sister. Only your imagining wrong....because those two are not welcoming anyone for they are dead, stabbed to death. You fear....fear for your own life, angry at the Twelve for taking them and flee. Only to then find out that the one who'd killed them was your own brother....your own flesh and blood. And then that same brother tried to stab you in kind." He sighed deeply squeezed the cut palm into a tight fist letting a drop of blood escape to the floor. "Imagine that....and you will know the greatest betrayal I've suffered."

Ermigawd, Armi. Liadan hates Ul'dah, too. I just want to plant more flowers there, personally. Hey I have flower barrels that you can u...use.....uhmmmm....I've said too much! *dives out the window*

He fiddled with his dagger and looked down at the table, well aware of who was in the room with him at the time. His eye closed and he mumbled quietly "Trying to join the Sultansworn. Cost me physically and mentally....and I lost good friends in the process." He sighed and didn't look up.

OMG! I almost forgot to say MASSIVE kudos to my FC. Saturday night I organized a beach party outside our old house in Mist and didn't think anyone would show but so many people came and we had a great time IC getting to know each other with so many new folks andhad a fun game of Hide and Seek in the housing area (second place Lala here!) and we used it as a great ICly way to introduce our new home in Lavender Beds. I just want to say thanks to those folks as they could easily have not come but chose to and it made the event work.

I know I said I left but this statement made me laugh out loud. So yep....you figured me out. Ol' Ruru always on the attack. And that is truly my final post to this thread that I so regret even bringing up. :frustrated: http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/yes-rudy1.gif[/img]

Well then I'll just shut my mouth and stop asking. Wish granted. And I'll know better next time than to ask. *Bows and walks away from thread* Ugh.

I didn't fault anyone. I just asked "why not?" was all. And if I wanted to fault anyone it would be the ones who OOCly dislike an area and refuse to go ICly because of the OOC reason. "I don't rp in Gridania because I hate the city." That kind of a line annoys me because the PLAYER hates Gridania not Joe Roe! And Ruru has traveled and it's still just as interesting as those who might not go as much. And no. I didn't forget. :dodgy:
-
Just a silly kudos to my little wind up kobold minion who entertained me last night with it's little flips and stuff when I was having a really lousy night. Brought a smile to my face as that was my rp for the night, watching it do its thing. Is it silly to offer thanks to a minion? Nope. 8-)

I understand that certain specific roles limit location but saying that one wouldn't leave because IRL the player wouldn't travel much....I have heartburn with that because it's too simple to just dump real life player thoughts and issues that then limit the character. I've never ridden a horse but that doesn't mean I won't jump on a chocobo in game and use that as my means of transportation. Let's liken the three major hubs Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. Now living in Los Angeles, if one had the means and opportunity....why wouldn't they go visit Chicago? Why wouldn't they visit New York? Forget real life fears of planes, etc. You have the means to get there. Why wouldn't you go? ICly, if one is a soldier, adventurer, whatever, why would one fail to take the opportunity to exist in one of the other hubs, even just to visit? The means are there. Ferries, chocobos and even by foot. So as a curious citizen of the world, the means are there, so why wouldn't I go see Quarrymill? Why wouldn't I go see Costa Del Sol.....a damn beach!? LOL! I just feel like maybe some people use OOCly dislikes for area aesthetics as a reason to keep their character ICly from going to those areas. *Shrugs* Just my opinion. I'll let the thread go on as I really don't have much more to offer than that.

Sorry if this topic has been discussed before but I wanted to see how you all felt about the issue of the areas in Eorzea in relation to roleplay. I know Ul'dah's the hot spot, and Limsa coming in second (I guess?) But I wonder why places like Gridania, Coerthas, or Mor Dhona don't have much if any rp going on there? It makes me sad to see everyone get so confined to one place and fail to expand the rp world past the boundaries of a given city. Yes, stories happen in Ul'dah, and yes, stories happen in Limsa, but the other places should have stories going as well. I get the whole "Well, Mor Dhona is where endgame folks hang out." Right. And? So no one can sit in the tavern there and rp? No one can explore the areas outside maybe and rp? Or Gridania. Why is Gridania so left behind? It's a beautiful area and there are plenty of areas to rp, and just there but the Shroud as a whole. And Coerthas is the same. Why wouldn't we have people up there scheming and plotting in the dark castles with the snowy backdrop? I mean...maybe stories in the snow just don't work (cough cough Game of Thrones cough cough)? It just baffles me that we as a community tend to isolate ourselves. I applaud those that work to try and set up rp spots in the other lands. Why not? It isn't like Ruru says "Mor Dhona....I can't go there....I hear only those who raid dungeons dwell there." We travel in real life. And some travel far quite often. So why wouldn't folks in the game? Coatleque and Warren....thank you for having a story set in Coerthas! Kiht and others! Thank you for your efforts in the Shroud! I hope we can begin to push outside of our "comfortable circles" in the towns and get a better sense of connectivity in the world we dwell in. It's a shame if we can't because it's lost opportunities if that's the case. TL; DR: We live in a big damn world so why do we bottle ourselves up in one or two places and not expand past those places?

The talons ripped through the dirt pathway and the woods were alive all around as the chocobo tore its way through the early morning fog. The Shroud. Nonotano had always hated the place as it was hell on his allergies. Besides the fact that he always felt like eyes were on him here. He drew his cloak over his head tighter and urged the bird toward the gates that were barely visible in the fog. He'd ridden through the night and had finally arrived at Fallguard Float. Passing through the gate and stopping, he dismounted with a heavy groan, his thighs sore from the ride and he stretched his knee for a moment before walking up the wooden walkway toward the tavern, keeping his head down. He'd hoped that his passage through here would be quick and with little trouble. Nonotano knew that the eager Sultansworn might have tried to dispatch notice to the Adders in the Shroud and wanted as little contact as possible for the moment. He didn't want to get derailed so close to Coerthas. But he needed some drink and a small bit of sleep. It would be a shame to get so close and the pass out from exhaustion in the snow only to be ripped to pieces by Snow Wolves or Giants. Walking into the tavern, he kept his cloak about him and sat at one of the tables heaving a sigh of rested relief.

Ruru walked in and overheard the Hyur woman's question and sat down with a sigh. "Aye! The one true love....it's not a myth. I'm with mine now, my dearest Alulu. Though I'm certain it'll end poorly. Sadly, often the one we love the most tears our hearts out in the most cruel manner in the end. And that's what makes people less inclined to believe in the idea of a one true love."

Puppy Ruru! Though no eyepatch so did the best I could.

A solid bow that has seen him through a number of difficult times. Leather Eyepatch: This is ALWAYS on him and so this is a sure drop. Iron Dagger: Ruru keeps this handy in case he needs to threaten Roes* or to launch surprise attacks on those he feels are a threat. Leatherworking Knife: As a newly acquired hobby and potential business in Limsa Ruru may have this on hand. Blood Debt Owed by an Insane Sibling: What? You took Ruru's life before Nonotano could? Then tag, you're it. *Much love to all Roes. It was in jest!

The letter addressed to Coatleque in the sealed envelope read as follows: Good morning, Sergeant Crofte, If you have this then surely you saw my gift to you. I admire a woman so spirited and while the game is far from finished with you, I will be taking my leave of the city, as ordered. My prey, as you stated, isn't in Thanalan so I will extend my search elsewhere. But be on guard my dear.....we are far from finished, you and I. And fear not....I've no desire to have you end up as the boy. I'd not let this game end so quickly. Maybe someday you'll get your man. See you soon, Sergeant.

The boy was desperate and had galdly accepted the second assignment from the raven-haired Lalafell with eagerness accepting the coin from the man with a smile. It was so much and as he had no home, it was a small fortune. He had a simple task and followed it to the letter. He walked to the main center of town, outside of the Quicksand, near the Gate of Nald and looked about. The instructions had been so clear he knew he couldn't fail. Had been promised another 1,000 gil on top of the 300 he'd already received if he did everything perfectly. Mid-day. The boy took the bottle of fluid from his pocket, green in color and opened it, drinking it down as he'd been told. The Lalafell had promised him it would heighten his senses for a brief period. He pulled the letter from his other pocket and held it in his other hand. He held his arms up and smiled... And collapsed, his body siezing and twitching, the bottle smashing to the ground next to him and the letter falling to the ground nearby. The boy went still quickly and lie dead in the street in front of the Quicksand. The letter lay nearby in a sealed envelope simply addressed in fine handwriting: Sergeant Crofte And somewhere, outside the city, on his way to Coerthas, a Lalafell grinned. If the boy did his part, there was one more loose end cleared up. Krell urged his Chocobo onward and laughed.
