I'm glad someone asked this. I've been toying with the idea of my character getting some magic tattoos for awhile, and I honestly never thought of the potential side effects. Now is there anyone who has a Tattoo Artist character that would be up for some IC work?

Get her a stove for the house. Or just buy her a house with upcoming personal housing?

Only thing I have to add about how stupid it is that there is no thief (although I'm glad thief isn't a class, which still leaves the chance it could be added as a job) is the THF Moogle during the king mog fight. Clearly wearing the iconic THF hat. Clearly using a dagger and poison.

Except that the Miqo'te naming conventions material from Square Enix makes it clear that the Nunh usually isn't the leader of the tribe. Of course, SE throws a wrench in the works by showing everyone a U-tribe Nunh who is, but he's also a warrior of light and so I've always envisioned that to be the reason he's the leader, not because he's a Nunh. While I agree that the only in-game example of a nuhn is a bad one, as far as overall naming convention lore goes. I would just like to clarify that the U tribe nuhn is not a warrior of light, but a member of the company of heroes that defeated Titan (and leviathan, altho they weren't clear on if that was the same company of heroes)

While I don't know the "official" lore stance on Materia IC. I would think if Armor materia would add resistance, strength, etc... then wouldn't weapon materia add things like bonuses to piercing, sharpness, durability, etc? or you could go with an super-rare "dragons-bane" or something, where it gives your weapon an added effect against specific enemies? but that might be pushing things...

From what I remember about the monk quests, they grow stronger by unlocking their shakra (sp?) which they by training in places with high amounts of aether and absorbing it into their bodies. Also you can reread/watch the quests in an inn room to refresh your memory.

I wouldn't mind throwing Nyxh's proverbial hat in the ring so to speak. I haven't fully flushed out her character yet, so there's plenty of room to work. Nyxh is an early 20s Keeper of the moon who, while being an experienced Lancer and hunter in her family clan, has just begun to study alchemy in Ul'dah (so she's still new in town). She's more the strategic fighter, preferring to avoid fights if there is little/to no chance of victory. She's still a bit shy having spent the majority of her life within her isolated family clan. Awesome, so I will find you to discuss back-story with you as there needs to be an established back-story link with my character's family. The Jakkya family has a specific history, but we will fit you in however you like. The Morbolvine Clan's IC rules for trial is that your character must learn how to use the spear OR bow. However, those do not have to be your character's main class. If you want to be a MRD or PUG, we can say your character got training for those classes elsewhere. You will only have to level archer OR lancer to 8 to 15, and can do so at your own pace. As for magic users, they are rare for the Jakkya family. You did not know this, so I will make an exception if you really want to be a magic user. Magic users would be more common for Molkots. I guess we should specify more about our families back-story and practices on this thread :lol: PS: I like the name. :love: Thanks! I read through the clan lore, so I started as a Lancer (to not only get that portion out of the way, but since I want my home city-state to be Gridania) I'm still working out the particulars of my back story, so I'm definitely up for some creative collaberation

So I was finally able to create my character this morning. Keep eye out for Nyxh Jakkya But before I can start a background story I just wanted to know what the "rules" are regarding "non-traditional" classes? ie, marauder or pugilist

I am all over this idea! I fell in love with a Keeper model while putting my retainer together and have been looking for an excuse to use it! Now if only I can get past the character creation restrictions.... Edit: btw, I had a few questions about the clan/tribe rules, needs, etc. If you have to time

I must say I love this idea! I would love to have my character join you for all sorts of hijinx/adventures. Only problem is that my character is on Gilgamesh (I wouldn't be against rerolling) Bigger problem is I won't be able to get online due to moving until the middle of may. But feel free to send me some pms here and we can hash out a mutual background story for future use
