So guns exist I am pretty sure. But are they all rifles of some sort? Are there handguns? Little muskets/pistols? Are they black powder powered archaic weapons or more like modern firearms? Revolvers or single shot pistols or semi-autos....I just dont know. Im looking to incorporate Otto perhaps carrying a sidearm but I just need to know more before I decide on it. Sounsyy pls

(IC) Welcome. If you're here and reading this you've probably heard the rumors or have seen first hand that I am hosting my own exhibitions involving fighting. I'm a fan of real fighting, bare-chested and bare-handed combat. Man to man with no magics, weapons, or anything that isn't your apart of your natural body. Well after the first couple of events some small changes are coming. It's been a long week and its time to work some of the frustration and stress off. You guard piss-ant nobles who can't wipe themselves and yearn for a brawl once in a while. You apprentice for a blacksmith who takes credit for all of your hard work and barely pays you. You're a street rat and you scrap nightly for food and are looking for a big payday after spending all those years on the streets honing your fighting prowess. You're a Miqo woman looking to prove yourself, you're rich and famous and want to wear a mask and enjoy living an alter-ego. You're a member of law enforcement and you're tired of seeing people get away with any crime with the right amount of coin, and its time to vent. I frankly won't give a shit as to why you will show up, just that you do. I don't care too much about who you are, just that you show up. The money is there mostly to draw a crowd, all the same I expect quality entertainment. So help you if I find out fights are being thrown for it. There are rules : 1) No weapons 2) No armor of any kind 3) No shoes 4) No tops (bras only for women) 5) No claws for you Miqo out there 6) No biting, and avoid too much hair pulling. The payout will go to the finalists, and it will be 80-20. 200k gil to the winner, 50k gil to the loser of the finals. I don't care about fighting styles. You want to box people only so be it. You want to wrestle and use submissions to win, so be it. People will get hurt, and people will cheer when you get hurt. This isn't the Grindstone where we all look away and wince when you are bested by your opponent. Your opponents will leave bruised and in pain. You will leave bruised and in pain. You will be healed though all the same and I will take care of any cost incurred by that. You're here to fight for yourselves as much as for the entertainment of your peers. Don't hold back. This Sunday the third such event will take place. We have a new location that is no longer in Coerthas. From now on all future fight nights will take place in Bronze Lake. Nice warm waters to fight in and a bar to crawl to after your beat. I look forward to seeing you. ( Fight Club will take place at 6 PM EST/EDT every Sunday. Well...uh...Otto thrives on the playboy image. He...sleeps around a lot. Paid whores, friends, casual encounters...he doesn't care. Lately though he has stemmed that back because IC hes lost interested in fucking around non stop. He might stop being a drug abusing womanizer and only sleep around a few times a week over non stop.

I'm making this thread due to frankly having no idea on how to take Otto from knowing relatively nothing about combat to hopefully being able wield a sword and not have it knocked out of his hand before the fight starts (or a lance same point). Now hand to hand boxing is one thing, everyone knows how to throw a punch and thats not my concern. I just wonder how I can or if I should or if its even plausible to put Otto on the path of knowing how to use a weapon. I dont want to MarySue as I have come to learn the term. I am a master of working with gold (GSM) and weaving together nice clothes (weaver), and outside of those jobs thats all Im good at minus womanizing. What should I do? Is there a way to slowly learn how to gitgud with a sword and not being totally useless with one? Im not looking to become the next Zoro mind you just basic and useful knowledge perhaps. A school of some sort? Someone willing to be my Sensei and teach me the ways?

Bumping this for a couple of reasons. One, I have no healers for tonight. I will definitely not go through with Fightclub if I have none. A lot of people get hurt IC in the fights and its kind of the point of the event and it wont feel right with people not being tended too. Two, it is tonight thus far. Remember 5 PM Eastern Standard Time. Last week I had at least 3 people come to me over an hour late saying they didn't know when it was starting. If I have to cancel I will bump again later before the event starts. Last week I think I had a total of 4 healers commit or offer aid and none of them showed or could. Really need at least one and you will be paid for it with gil.

Well I think we had a thread just like this a week ago? but Ill answer again that Otto would one day like to be remarried and just settle. His wealth is overwhelming and the true value of him and his estate is hundreds of millions. He works to keep himself occupied, his womanizes due to boredom and just...missing his dead wife? He'd retire tomorrow if he found the right one. Though only Kerwin knows this. The outside world has no idea he doesnt just love slutting around getting high and throwing his money around everywhere he can if the cause is worth or it entertaining.

It's hard for me to say why I always make it a point of speaking with the Lady Crofte. Sure she is attractive and that's a good enough excuse as any, however, I've learned over the weeks and months of coming here she almost exclusively responds in the same way to the same questions. It's a challenge to get too much idle chat out of her. Even when I had the rare privilege of her sitting across from me for lunch one fateful day, I felt as if I was goading her to speak about herself or any subject with more than a few words. I think the biggest reason I am drawn to her is that in a city like Ul'Dah where literally everything and everyone schemes in ways that are less than idealistic, she simply shows up to work and performs her sworn duties. She is under no delusions of grandeur like so many of her colleagues, she has no desire for increased power or station, unless given to her by The Sultana. She's clung to being a SultanSworn to give herself purpose and she contents herself with that. Simple and admirable. I'd like to convert her to a friend of mine one day. Its refreshing having people like her in Ul'Dah. All the same I can't help myself and finally speak to her after letting the moments pass. Always one to turn to me and offer a bit of a smile. We go through our motions, her day has gone well. She's staying safe as always. Ul'Dah sis as awful as always. My businesses are doing well and I am looking as handsome and debonair as always. I usually just take tablespoons of this stuff and consume it instantly, placing all of my dose in my mouth at once and washing it quickly with water for that massive jolt to kick-start me, but during the day like this I prefer to have it sit in my water and gradually take it in. It makes the water taste like the most bitter poison you can imagine and I drink it this way on purpose almost like a self-punishment for leading such a lascivious and debauched lifestyle. Maybe one day I'll get tired of drinking water this way and for once sleep for more than a couple of hours. Today will not be that day though considering what Ridley lined up for me tonight. As I sit at the bar, drinking the terrifically bad water, I ponder a moment the other Paladins in Ul'Dah that aren't Crofte. Most of them are rather useless to a man like me. Most of them are seemingly useless in service to Her Majesty and Ul'Dah as well. The large majority of them don't even attempt to wear their uniform, that Gallant armor that admittedly has quite the legendary reputation. Its a privilege to have it bestowed and most of the Sworn would rather never been seen with it, regardless of their oath. I think you would find more Free Paladins wanting to wear their Gallant suits and I think they do. A man like me sits on the outskirts of the most powerful and influential people in Ul'Dah and always will, this doesn't stop me from making use of everyone I can though. I need more Paladins to view me in a favorable light and I intend to make it happen. First though I need to finish this water and head over to the various 'Lanes' in Ul'Dah and soak in the sights of people doing business, peddling their wares, and pay a personal visit to my stalls and businesses. Playing around with Royalists is one thing, but business is always more important. [To be continued...]
