What are your goals with this specifically? Its...unusual to beseech law enforcement / secret service type peoples to get in touch with important figures like The Pope or POTUS even. Its also not as unusual but certainly off the beaten path to get to figures via businessmen with loose though usable political connections (like myself). Are you trying to interface with the Sultana somehow?

I wish I knew. Since Ive played even back in the 2.0 days when I rushed to be server first GSM/Miner on my old server....I have had 10s of million of actual gil. I dont have scale of any kind. People will RP to Aya in the quicksand handing over 5 gil for a drink and I give her 7,777 gil. Am I doing it wrong? It feels embarrassingly cheap to give someone 5 gil for anything. I dont know what to do really.

Welcome. If you're here and reading this you've probably heard the rumors that I am looking to create my own exhibition involving fighting. That I've enjoyed being a benefactor for The Grindstone but have outwardly and inwardly always preferred something with more grit and less pomp. That I'm a fan of real fighting, bare-chested and bare-handed combat. Man to man with no magics, weapons, or anything that isn't your apart of your natural body. That I am one to put my money where my mouth is and host such an exhibition with a prize to the finalists equaling at least two-hundred and fifty thousand gil. The rumors are true. It's been a long week and its time to work some of the frustration and stress off. You guard piss-ant nobles who can't wipe themselves and yearn for a brawl once in a while. You apprentice for a blacksmith who takes credit for all of your hard work and barely pays you. You're a street rat and you scrap nightly for food and are looking for a big payday after spending all those years on the streets honing your fighting prowess. You're a Miqo woman looking to prove yourself, you're rich and famous and want to wear a mask and enjoy living an alter-ego. You're a member of law enforcement and you're tired of seeing people get away with any crime with the right amount of coin, and its time to vent. I frankly won't give a shit as to why you will show up, just that you do. I don't care too much about who you are, just that you show up. The money is there mostly to draw a crowd, all the same I expect quality entertainment. So help you if I find out fights are being thrown for it. There are rules : 1) No weapons 2) No armor of any kind 3) No shoes 4) No tops (bras only for women) 5) No claws for you Miqo out there 6) No biting, and avoid too much hair pulling. The payout will go to the finalists, and it will be 80-20. I don't care about fighting styles. You want to box people only so be it. You want to wrestle and use submissions to win, so be it. ERP Im ready to stop slutting around Eorzea and settle again. I have found two suitors potentially, one perma-deathed in some RP (killed in front of me) the other was dear Kerwin and our schedules fractured so hard IC/OOC we gave up on it. Otto is 28 and /old/. When he shows up after running business (logging on) and is immediately hounded by Jaiythe and Lucy for fun times (for example), he secretly wishes he was married again or the days of something steady and meaningful like Kerwin - where one, maybe two strange per week was all he would take when she wasn't around.

This is an interesting point of view to take. As one of those disgusting ERPers, I'm especially fond of the subject because of how polarizing it is. Not because I want to make people uncomfortable (and this is why I keep my disgusting practices to /p chat and the like), but because it provides a really fascinating insight into human nature and western culture. Especially when you look at the other forms of RP that are widely accepted (killing, torture, theft, etc). Its really not just western culture though.

My only concern about this is having people who want to fight every week (IronSea probably one of them) maybe not getting their ass-beating quota in for the week if they get knocked out of contention for the event after week 2 for example. Maybe if there is a laddered and tiered month long style event we can have side fights for smaller pots to keep the entertainment going. Also I guess another concern would be repeat attendance. If we are in week three dealing with semi-finals and someone no-shows for whatever reason, thats a default win and sadly no fighting then. Hm

Well take everytihng I say with a grain of salt since my RP is so raw and new still (and I make a ton of bad mistakes) But I would appreciate very sparingly OOC guidance in dealing with that persons character like you outlined. Id rather piss them off and try to navigate a situation / make up for it and just avoid a trigger or something you know? Takes the fun away from treating it like actual roleplay. Like with this thing Im doing with natalie and her friends in dealing with shady shit, I suppose she could just tell me who they are and stuff and 'script' out what will happen - but id rather go in blind and figure it out the best i can. That might make me grow as a roleplayer too.
