The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Aris replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
My raid team has fallen apart, as over half of the members have decided to unsub, given the poor state of end game at the moment. Fingers crossed 3.2 brings a new lease of life to the game, and some friendly teams recruiting too. -

Do you mind us adding you so we can send the item along? Sadly you can't mail people not on your friends list. This is a lovely idea! -
Congratulations Alothia, welcome to the world little Roland! I hope you're all doing well ♥

From my understanding, airship exploration missions will give random gear up to i210, so that will be another avenue to gear up. Also, like previously with hunts, you'll be able use Centurio Seals to buy Clan Mark Logs (500 CS each) to trade for Illuminati Gobtwine/Illuminati Gobcoat which upgrades eso gear to i210. We won't know what's best until seeing stats, but at least there are a few different options now to gear up, which is nice.

Post about why you love the Site, the Mods, The Game and the Community
Aris replied to 111's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I love that there's a general desire to help people here. Questions rarely go unanswered; even the most repeated, awkward, or just plain silly (I'm guilty of those!) questions, always at least one person replying and usually many more than one. It's a great place to find events, FC/LS, and other likeminded individuals. Personally I would have a much more difficult time finding roleplay if it wasn't for here. & A shout out to the Mods, for always wanting to improve, and doing the best they can with a bunch of misfits like us. -
Welcome! It's always good to see another Roe, there aren't enough

Welcome to end game! I've found while farming for gordian and eso I'm getting more law tomes than I know what to do with. It is more of a time investment, though. The i200 grind is quite slow. It takes around 3 months to get full eso gear if that's what you're aiming for (including weapon). Alexander depends on what you go for each week. You can get one drop from each floor. 4 weeks, or 2 weeks, for the body, and legs. Or in 2 weeks you could get the feet and hands. So it'll still take a month or so to get a full left side, regardless. Getting and upgrading law tomes is quite quick in comparison! So it might be worth aiming for gordian and eso gear now. It's worth adding as well that all i180 will get you through all current content comfortably, so if you don't have more time to dedicate to farming (or want to) then it's more than fine. And 3.1 is on the way too, as Sounsyy mentioned. Depending on your play style (are you seeking full best-in-slot?) I would look at the stats on everything and get some pieces of each depending what you need. I don't know if you've any interest in it, but the new relic chain will be starting in 3.1 as well, so you might not want to spend your eso on a weapon for your main class if you plan to pick that up. Hope this helps.

I have a feeling I've missed out on some PVE stuff...

There are quite a few level-50 dungeons and trials you mightn't have unlocked and are worth running through if you enjoy that kind of thing. Here's a list of dungeons and trials available, and where to unlock them. Odin (Urth's Fount) is unlocked at an NPC standing outside the Adder HQ, and requires a quest called 'All You Need About Odin' which is in the South Shroud I think? Interesting tidbits about Odin if you want to learn more about him. The relic quests, as you've mentioned. The entire quest chain is EXTREMELY long, which a new phase being added each patch and the weapon being upgraded each time. It required lots of grinding and patience and isn't really worth doing now unless you want the final weapon for glamour. However, the first quest to get you the base i70 weapon isn't as long, and takes you through Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan HM, which is quite fun and you get a spiffy title out of it too. A new relic chain will be released in 3.1. Crystal Tower is 2.0's 24-man dungeon chain. It had three parts, Crystal Tower, Syrcus Tower, and World of Darkness. From my understanding the queues for the first two are quite long now as few people run it, however SE have said they'd find a way to make it shorter. I really recommend running through it, as doing your first 24-man dungeon with everyone running around is pretty exciting, and the story is interesting too! The quest to unlock it requires waiting on a couple of FATEs to pop, so it'll be a bit of waiting around, and maybe ask in an LS if people will help you clear them as there proably won't be many people in the area running it sadly. We are going to be getting the first of the new three part 24-man dungeon is patch 3.1, so if queues are particularly bad at the moment to run CT, please know you won't be missing out entirely and we're getting another in the future! Gilgamesh is part of the Hildebrand questline. It's fairly long, utter madness, but there is a dance, emoticon, fancy outfit, and two trials to be unlocked. The quest line starts at 'The Rise and Fall of Gentlemen' in Ul'dah. There are also several extreme primal battles if you enjoy them? Some still require coordination and learning the mechanics, however they're easier now if you go in with a unsynced team (meaning you're all overgeared and things won't hit as hard and some mechanics can be skipped). And lastly, that I can think of, is Coil Of Bahamut. It's a total of 13 trials and 2.0's highest difficulty raid (which means it's somewhat easier now to complete now we're all overgeared!). However, some of the trials still require a team to work in some coordination, and mechanics to remember, such as moving out of the way of divebombs. But if you enjoy raiding I really recommend giving it a go because the story is great, finding out what happened to Bahamut, basically. As you can see some of these are more time investing than others, and more than you can fit in an afternoon! But well worth a look at if you ever find yourself wondering what to do. Oh goodness, I'm sorry for rambling. This has turned into a much longer post than I anticipated. If be more than happy to lend a DPS or healing hand if you want to run through any! We could look into organising a team to run through the primals and maybe coil if there was enough interest - I'd be happy to teach the mechanics and we'll have a laugh along the way. -
That would probably be best:thumbsup: Thank you, sorry for silly question

As someone who is looking to RP as a healer, I should generally ask them OOC what they want the outcome to be then? Edit: Sorry Warren, asking questions on your thread.

Welcome to HRC! It's always nice to meet someone else who came from Neopets. 8-) We're all very friendly here, so don't hesitate jumping in to chat! Kay sounds like an intriguing character, look forward to hopefully seeing more about him.
