  1. Other datacenters aren't as bad because they're basically empty. Aether is exploded because about eight hundred thousand people are trying to log into it. And Warren about echoes my sentiments exactly, except for the token thing because I used an app token and destroyed the phone I had it on in a bout of anger and so had to have it removed. The only difference is that I am forcefully maintaining a zen-like calm and attitude of indifferent resignation because to do otherwise is not only unhealthy for me but will greatly upset my GF.
  2. Doesn't work when you live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment and the error keeps dumping you to desktop and requiring you to relog like Warren so eloquently described.
  3. Also through the data center wall and stuck in a queue. And no, if the queue keeps refreshing and staying at the same number, it's broken.
  4. Three of my characters are from Doma, one is from a separate reality entirely, and my main is the ever-so-derided miqo'te dragoon. Doman characters practically don't get an eye bat at them anymore given the refugee angle from Garlemald utterly massacring them, many going on to be successful adventurers. My miqo dragoon was a tribal who quit after getting his ass beat every time he tried to challenge for nunh, and wound up getting under-the-table training from a House Fortemps guard captain. This got him in hot water with Ishgard for a time, even so far as having a death mark, until he fought at the Steps of Faith, after which they kinda pardoned him. So he's not officially a dragoon, just has a bunch of the training. He's no humanoid hypersonic guided missile like the ones in the Heavensward movie, that's for sure.
  5. It infuriates me because my GF is in and progressing and I'm getting f'in 2002's. I should add that we're on the same network with two feet separating our machines.
  6. Got in. Standing up by Steel Vigil and assembling my crew so we can take a commemorative screen before we launch into the expansion.
  7. Almost got in, lol. Then it crashed because my GF said something.
  8. Hah, not likely. I just killed 5m watching it and no closer to getting in.
  9. So....are there two downloads or not? Because when I put in my pass on the client, I got an 8g download, and then I went to the mog station and put in the secondary code as mentioned....and have not gotten prompted for more downloads. EDIT: I'm also a Steam user, for clarification.
  10. So....if that's legit, Flare is no longer useful.
  11. Not my character, but my friend's character Satomi Hakase is a very prominent alchemist. Such that when a fight descended on us, she was in over her head the entire conflict.
  12. I don't care what my friends say, I will always see that as a shout out to Equilibrium.
  13. The magitek prodigy narrowed her eyes at the paper as she read the article on the captain. He had been the level-headed one in the few dealings she'd had with him and the Order of the Raven's Eye. How to have fallen so far as to fire on his own allies? There was something deeper afoot, and Chao knew better than most the demons that someone could carry deep in their soul. "It was your compatriot I had been worried about letting your weapon be turned to nefarious purposes, Captain..." she murmured. "Though I can't but imagine that he had a hand in this state of affairs. It appears that I have need of making good on my promise; this is a technology I cannot allow to persist."
  14. I know about VATS, and what they showed was a whole lot more in-depth than what's existed previously. Mostly you just get a slow-mo of the round entering the target to the accompaniment of an exploding body part. Then again, I don't normally use melee weapons so that may be why I'm not familiar with any possibly existing finishers of the like.
  15. That...is a very tiny portion of the backstory present only in the tutorial level and likely never brought up again? I mean, there's a guy on another forum I'm on who bitched about that exact same thing. Why is it so difficult for people to wrap their head around the concept of "ignore parts of the game/story you don't like"? Hell, it's stock in trade of what we do here on the RPC. That aside, while I would love to have that physical pip-boy, I'm pleased/satisfied that you can still use the app on your phone to mess with inventory. And all the other features, dear god: pistol-whipping, finishers from Skyrim, some sort of interactive QTE-like battle events, powered armor that's an actual mobile suit (and features HUDs and shit to boot =D), guns that sound/look/feel legitimately powerful. Oh, I'm so ready.
  16. My best one is an old one from ST. It's after I've done so much ST that I no longer go in it on my peak class, going on BRD instead of DRG. BRD is my "lazy" job, meaning I typically stand in the back of the field and just shoot arrows and occasionally sing, don't do anything. So we get to Amon, and he drops an ice cage on the DRG in the party, basically right up his ass. Now, this was about my third or fourth ST of the day, and on the previous run I'd seen him drop one really close to him and we were fine. The DRG says we should probably find another cage, and I mention the last run and say we'll be fine. So there we all huddle, up Amon's ass. Someone in the party again states their concern that we're too close. I utter the immortal words: "Guys, trust me. I'll stake my life on this." /splat
  17. The Oak Inn at Lavender Beds ward 6, plot 16 is an IC tavern that rents rooms. Don't be alarmed if you approach and see a bunch of people randomly sitting on the edges of the roof or on top of the archway, that's what we do in our spare time when we're bored. Just shake a stick at us and we'll move somewhere appropriate and get IC.
