  1. I've always had a very brief blurb about my characters in their search info, followed by the RP thing. So either I've been putting dumb blurbs or my characters are interesting to absolutely no one. That said, if this is going to be a thing, I'll pass it along to my group. I've mentioned it to one set already.
  2. Nobody in DRG wore the new AF (sadly). Alberic still wore his old rags, Estinien didn't show (too busy with MSQ), and the new chick just had augmented drachen dyed some gaudy burgandy or something.
  3. I, personally, don't see a problem, but then I'm not the person you really want to be taking advice on lore compliance from. The blank slate route is one that's easy to play out, as no clone is going to be anything like their genetic source, and you need only look to Star Wars for that. My legitimate stance is that so long as you put a lot of thought and iron out all the kinks in your head, play it up. Also, for the whole "center of attention pretty princess" deal, that's as easy to get around as picking your audience. For an example of this: my character Chao is a magitek genius who's as adept at punching things as she is at setting them on fire with her mind (read: very adept), built herself a sentient combat robot and powered infiltrator (the assault set is coming) armor. However, this is not something she flaunts to the world. Other than the Garleans who are actively hunting her down, the only people who know even a bit of what she's capable of are the people at USH who have interacted with her a little. Back when she used to sit around in the QS, she'd never tell anybody who randomly walked up and talked to her about her activities. (Because that's a good way to call down Garlean assassins on your head)
  4. I mostly follow, but is this character meant to be another clone of Unei/Doga or another Allagan in general? Either way, Chao may or may not kidnap you.
  5. Nothing wrong with that. My GF did that for a bunch of her characters, most notably Sabine Aislihn, who has interacted with the vast majority of the guildmasters due to at least poking at each of the crafts/gathers.
  6. The tales of assholery aimed at DRKs is the primary reason why I'm leveling it solely through fates. Only going to 50 anyway. I'm not that good a tank to begin with (no matter what my friends would tell you) so I don't need the added bullshit of A.) a tank class I'm not familiar with B.) snide assholes on top of it. The tale of that shit-talking DRG, though. Man, I have to say that every time I come read one of these tales about DRGs being fuckheads or epic failures is one hell of an ego stroke. I'm by no means remotely close to server best DRG (in fact barely rating myself above 'Server Competent' DRG), but I'm not a brain donor and I have the good sense to keep my fucking mouth shut because I am a lowly dps and I am immediately replaceable.
  7. -Notes the listed playtimes, looks at current time, leaves self a note to be on Garon in about four hours-
  8. I should forewarn that my bounty hunter character is not one of my mains so I don't tend to spend a lot of time on him. It's usually best to poke me via the RPC chat or if you find one of my other characters in the game to let me know that you want to meet up with him. Alternatively, which literally just came to my mind, we could always set an RP appointment.
  9. My bounty hunter could use an information broker. He's due to execute his current one here soon-ish after learning they're in Garlemald's pocket.
  10. NPCs throughout the game will also make use of whatever your last name happens to be with a Mister/Miss/Master tacked onto the front. Especially grating all through 3.0 on Tahz, with people going "Master Tia" and I'm just like "gaiz, c'mon, that's not my name :|"
  11. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't make the Dark warrior match your model/job.
  12. Pretty well echoing Chachanji here. I've got Tahz at i173 right now with only two pieces being Valerian (holy shit, that word was in my auto-correct) instead of law and I only do daily roulettes. Half my stuff is upgraded because I've done the daily hunts nigh-religiously every day after I figured out they were a grand total of 110 seals a day plus some nice bonus xp pre-60. Further, 3.0 may feel unfinished for those of us who started well after 2.0 launch and were spoiled by having all content immediately available to us. Relic weapons weren't available until 2.1, after all.
  13. That guy in the postmoogle quest? The Garlean deserter that lives in Wineport jungles? That guy is fucked in the head, and you don't get that assed up just from seeing some awful shit. That kind of mind-fuckery, to the point where he acts like his brains are essentially scrambled eggs, comes from actual mind-fuckery.
  14. Getting to see that stuff and wreck their day is almost worth the time invested going to one of these. But in engaging the fools on their own level, I'd just make things worse.
  15. Harder than EXs? I'm so dead. So much for easy mode story. D=
  16. As a keeper of a fanfic wiki, I'm going to wiki magic the hell out of that thing. Intermittently, of course. I've still got all kinds of leveling to do on my alts now that Tahz has reached the current end of content. Also, feel free to use the Kuro Arashi wiki for ideas on formatting and organizing your wiki.
  17. Insofar as victories go, that's fairly equivalent to an ant managing to bite the heel that's crushing it into a paste.
  18. This type of RPing has always confused me. I never really understood why people typed like this. I guessed it might be a way for my character to interrupt their action that they "would" do, but most of the time they type 2 paragraphs of stuff like this all at once before it's my time to post anyway, full of other things they would also do. Am I supposed to include which things I would stop and which things I would allow to happen? As a person who occasionally uses this format of posting, I should like to point out that it has its uses in combat RP. For those of us who despise dice in any fashion and fight free-form, inclusion of the future clause allows points in the combat narrative for the opponent to react and interrupt.
  19. I feel like I probably pronounce Tahz's name wrong.
  20. Ah, would that you'd have been around a month ago when I was setting up Chao to get her face punched in by some Garleans.
  21. Off to a good start, so far. I look forward to seeing where you go from here, and how my characters can help shape the story.
  22. Oh, good lord, this so much. If I had a dollar for every time the chat system has eaten one of Chao's posts, I wouldn't have to work anymore. Fortunately, I have Chao's main RP partner on skype and so whenever silence passes for a while, one of us goes "It ate a post again, eh?"
