  1. I am so excited for this, it's unreal! There are quite a few hairstyles that I enjoy using in-game, but there's a specific hairstyle that I use for K'heyo that is the only one (thus far) that I believe solidly suits his personality. I'm super pumped for the chance that one of the winning hairstyles will suit him equally as well! I can't wait to see everyone's submissions!
  2. The azure Seeker regarded the glass of water with his chin propped between his thumb and pointer finger. The tip of his tail flicked lazily from side-to-side before he finally spoke: "Half-full. If it was half-empty, then that would still mean that it had to have been full to the top at some point! Nothing's empty without being full first! At least, I think..." Oh no. Now he's gone and confused himself again.
  3. Mm. K'heyo and I would be casual acquaintances. He's not the type that I would include in my more tightly-knit group of friends because he flirts too much, is loud (and I don't like competition for attention), and has an annoyingly unpredictable personality. However, he is amusing and I know that I would appreciate his sense of humor. His devotion and loyalty to his friends is also something to be admired, I think. So, who knows? Maybe we'd get along alright.
  4. K'heyo is a conjurer IC-ly. I use the White Mage job to represent this. I'm just lucky enough that White Mage is what I enjoy playing the most OOCly, as well! Why do I say he's only a "conjurer" and not a "white mage?" Well, that's because his own personal brand of magic doesn't require delving that deeply into a job. K'heyo grew up under the tutelage of Brother E-Sumi-Yan for a good portion of his childhood, learning how to work along with and call upon the Elementals for magics that would (hopefully) improve his poor health. Not only was K'heyo able to siphon the Elementals' powers to become healthier, but he also turned out to be a talented hearer and can speak freely with the Elementals. Other than that, K'heyo's pretty good at weaving and seems to enjoy it quite a bit. He even crafts his Host Club members' uniforms! K'heyo's cooking skills only reach as far as spicy recipes go. Everything he makes is either very spicy (and delicious) or... well, not spicy and inedible.
  5. After thinking hard on this for quite a while, I've decided that K'heyo would most likely team up with Ramuh. Being a more laid-back type of person, K'heyo really enjoys the sylphs' attitudes and how they are less war-like than most other beast tribes. Can't say he would be too fond of the whole lightning thing, however; thunderstorms are a big fear of his.
  6. A comedian. Yep. That'd just about suit K'heyo perfectly.
  7. I also like Checheri Cheri the best from that list because of the pronunciation possibilities. Like Gegenji mentioned, it gets the point across of the character type you're going for, but also has the potential to be pronounced differently.
  8. I really, really love how unique and interesting the Au Ri (is that the proper plural form of Au Ra?) culture is. I think ancient Mongolian and Japanese names are a great way to go so people can have the Eastern names they wanted without so much of the stereotypical and common ones about. Of course, I especially love the fact that the Xaela tribes each have quirky little traditions and behaviors that are unique to their specific tribe. SE really outdid themselves with naming conventions on this one.
  9. As plenty of others have said, there's really no need to avoid the Quicksand. Like any crowded environment, there are going to be good encounters with others and, likewise, bad encounters. Even though it's a bit discouraging when other people react in inappropriate manners to your character, you shouldn't let it discourage you. Just take it with a grain of salt and move on. That being said, not everyone in the Quicksand is bad. In fact, I've made quite a few RP contacts from lingering around there. Going to the Quicksand is an easy way to seek out RP, which you could then choose to move from there if you and your partner can agree on it.
  10. As Cecillia said, there's no problem with that! I'm about to go read your application right now!
  11. Capes! I mean, really just anything with capes. When I look at my Paladin, I can't help but to think that he'd look 100% cooler with a cape flapping in the breeze behind him. Or anything like these (especially the third and seventh outfits): Or, even these (I'm a sucker for more "Victorian"-styled clothing):
  12. Awesome! We'd love to have you! ♥ Maybe you already know this, but I've personally found that the best time to try and create a new character on Balmung is to do it right after maintenance has ended. I'd always play with the character creator beforehand and save the appearance so that way I was all set for whenever a slot opened up!
  13. Thanks for pointing that out, Terra! Level requirements for the uniform were something that I hadn't considered fully when it comes to newer characters. I'll make an update soon with a few lower-level options for those below the item level requirement.
  14. Personally, I'm lucky that my RPC has a severe case of wanderlust. He loves to explore because his health kept him from doing so at a younger age. Ishgard is just another place to explore in his eyes. He probably won't stay there for long, though, as he can't stand cold weather.
  15. For K'heyo: "Why don't you act your age?" (Tch. Boriiing!) "Don't go blowing all of your gil at the Gold Saucer." (I do what I want!) "Was that really necessary?" (Yes, yes it was.)
  16. Being the fickle writer that I am, motivation slumps are also quite the predicament for me. Oftentimes I don't force myself to RP if I can sense that I'm going to have a tough time with it. However, if I'm seriously determined to interact more with a character, I usually try turning to drawing said character and listening to songs that remind me of them. There's a lot to be said about drawing inspiration from outside sources. As far as motivating others around you (and in your FC goes), I'm not sure that's entirely possible. Whether it's the pre-expansion slump or whether they're all just kinda bummed in general, I'm sure they'll all come around eventually. If anything, the release of the expansion will have them back and kicking with even more umph!
  17. My main RPC, K'heyo Tia, probably is mispronounced fairly often. Heck, even I was mispronouncing his name at first! I initially picked the spelling because I thought it was cool and thought it was pronounced "Key-oh". However, after doing some research on Miqo'te name conventions, I found out that it's actually pronounced "KOO-hey-oh." Go figure.

Introduction (TL;DR - The Wild Lotus Host Club is a host-club-themed Free Company that specializes in entertainment, concessions, companionship, flirtation, and fine conversation. On the outside, it looks like that's all there is to it. However, it also doubles as a band of dapper mercenaries available for hire as bodyguards, traveling partners, and odd jobs doers. >> There's much more information about us on our personal site listed under basic info! Check it out!) The full story... Upon entering the doors of the house located in the Goblet, you are greeted by a rush of lotus petals and cool air. Bewildered at first, your eyes squeeze shut against the onslaught. However, they do not remain closed for long because you soon discover that you're being addressed. "Welcome, M'Lord/M'Lady. Are you lost?" The speaker is a Miqo'te. He is tall for the feline race and has navy blue hair tipped in white. A feather hair pin differentiates his outfit from the crowd of others around him, all of which are in matching lotus pink patrician garb. They are all members of different races, all varying shapes and sizes, and all appear to have lived very different walks of life. You stare at them, dumbfounded, only to see that the Miqo'te seems to be watching you expectantly. When you cannot muster an answer, he snickers and steps forward at an easy stride. "Well, no matter. Lost or not, we welcome you to the Wild Lotus Host Club either way! My name is K'heyo Tia, and you could say that I'm the proud King of all of the hosts here." The self-proclaimed "host king" now stood before you, silvery eyes scanning your person up-and-down. After a moment, he notices your unease and breaks into an easygoing grin. "Oh, relax! I'm not going to hurt you." With a limp flick of his wrist, he waved you off and gave a wink. "That is, unless you're into that...~" Behind him, several of his cohorts groaned and the Seeker looked offended. "Lighten up, guys. Learn to take a shite joke," he sighed in response. While the group is bickering, you take the chance to recuperate and muster up a question: "What exactly do you do here?" Spinning back to face you once more, K'heyo's eyes are gleaming with excitement as if you've just told him that he won a brand new Chocobo. "What do we do here?" he repeated, his tail almost wagging at the rate it was swaying, "I'm so glad you asked!" Taking you by the shoulders, the club leader begins to lead you through a series of rooms, all clearly adorned with differing themes of décor and mood. "Here at the Wild Lotus Host Club we specialize in entertaining our guests with fine conversation and refreshments. We boast a wide variety of hosts, and have a broad spectrum of different personality types and interests. We even host the occasional social event!" As you're guided along, you realize that the motley crew of uniform-clad people are following you, each bustling about preparing plates of desserts and prepping pots of Mint and Rolanberry Lassi. Now that you can get a good look at them, you realize that these people must be the "hosts" that the cat is going on about. "But we specialize in much, much more than entertainment and socializing!" K'heyo was continuing. Whoops, you hoped that you hadn't missed much of what he was saying in your state of distraction. "We're also a mercenary troupe that takes on escort missions, odd jobs, and double as great (and stylish) bodyguards!" "Bodyguards?" you ask, genuinely curious as to how the suit-bearing men and women could defend someone, yet alone wield weapons, in such ridiculous attire. "Are ya deaf?" the Miqo'te mused, furrowing a brow, "Yes, that's just what I said." He began to gesture about himself grandly. "Whether your pet chocobo got loose or you have a gang of bloodthirsty bandits after you, the Wild Lotus is here for you! We can beat your enemies with style and look damn good while doing it!" he chuckled, "Get it?" Nodding, you make a faint noise of understanding. A brigade of battle-ready dandies? Now it was all starting to make sense... sort of. The 'host king' seemed pleased with your nod of your head and stuck his hand out towards you, waiting for you to shake it. "Good! Now that that's out of the way, why don't you stay a while? Have some snacks and unwind a little. Be our guest.~" Obligingly, you comply to his suggestion and begin to sample a cookie off of a nearby refreshment table. It's surprisingly good. "Well, I guess I wouldn't mind staying here for a little while..." you decide aloud, your eyes gazing over all of the fine company about you. "Excellent. Pleased to have you, new regular.~" K'heyo purred, half-bowing in exaggeration. You were just about to open your mouth to argue the fact that you were not intending to become a regular of the bizarre establishment, however the others cut you off when they broke out into a cheer. Resigned as you looked at all of the happy faces, you sighed and let a smile of your own slip onto your face. Well, you supposed it wasn't all that bad here. Perhaps you could stay, if just for a little while...
  19. Yeah, I was also interested in joining on my character "Mithos Adventis." I've talked to a member of the guild a bit, but am also having trouble contacting any of the leaders. I don't mind a slower RP guild, but I was wondering if you're still active, as well.
