I wouldn't call that an accent really, rather just having the ability produce the extra sounds described in the naming conventions thread (the hiss/spit 'h' for example), because she is Miqo'te. Though since her tribe seems to be separated from Gridania and other Keeper tribes, I bet they have their own accent that they're not even aware of since they speak what is probably their own variant of the old language. (OT, just got me musing.) I don't think I ever have seen anything from NPCs or lore stating that Miqo'te, or any other race for that matter, have or had their own language, so I'm pretty sure I might have just assumed on that one. But it made sense that a culture as different as Miqo'te, along with the fact that we know they migrated from a place that wasn't connected to Eorzea by land all made me kind of guess that them having their own unique language made sense. I never did really figure out a way to RP Manari having an accent because I have no idea what this accent could even sound like. I love the idea of it though, and I'd like to bring it out a bit more in ARR when Manari will be returning to her roots anyway. I would really like to find some way to implement a subtle accent with her. I'm not sure how to even RP the hissing either. I feel like something like that might get annoying if I RPed it constantly. Hmmm.... I'm going to have to think on this more.

Hello, sir! I couldn't help but notice your character concept and thought I would say hello and introduce myself. As Eva said, i feel like we might have a few things in common. I'm Manari and I RP a forestborn miqo'te female Keeper of the Moon. I'm well acquainted with the lore around the Black Shroud, the game's giant forest area, and thought that I could offer assistance should you want any. Manari can speak well, read well, and write well. She writes novels in her journal, after all. Her tribe was in touch with the world. Just because they lived together and called themselves a "Tribe" doesn't mean they tie sticks and rocks together to hunt and grunt as a form of language. She speaks with a traditional miqo'te accent, if such a thing exists. They say their words in a way only Miqo'te can pronounce, so I assume that it does exist. She speaks what her tribe used to call the "old tongue." It's an old language that most of the younger members of the tribe didn't use much, thus it being dubbed the "old tongue." She can also speak a basic amount of Garlean, only knowing mostly a specific set of words thanks to a mission in Everwatch where she had to go undercover and save an ally. I would assume most of that is probably gone now, since that would have been 5 years ago in ARR, so I suppose she can't speak any of that anymore.

I have found the PERFECT flower for Manari. Even if this doesn't win, even if it's not the most interesting flower, I'm still happy that this thread made me go and find these. I <3 them so much and they fit Manari so perfectly. Moon flowers (Botanical name: Ipomoea) are called moon flowers because they bloom in moonlight. These are beautiful pink or white flowers. The flowers quickly open at night and last the entire night. They close when the sunlight touches their petals. The plant has a height of up to 15 feet. The propagation is by seed. The flower should by planted when the moon is new or increasing.

I will have to RP on my phone from work. I should probably just pass, but I really want to participate, so I'll try my best. I would love to bring a young promising (and a little xenophobic) 14 year old Manari to the RP, especially if its in her home turf too.

Not exactly and MMO, but I have been playing a ton of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I would love to say I'm waiting for Monster Hunter Online, but let's not kid ourselves... we aren't getting it. I'd LOVE to play PSO2, but I can't stand playing the game alone. If I had some partners to run dungeons with and appreciate my adorable character, then perhaps I'd be a lot more into it. If you need a level 20 Force, I'm there! Aside from that, I have a half dozen other MMOs on my PC that I never play, like Tera, Aion, Ragnarok Online 2, Rusty Hearts, and a few others I can't think of. But I'm probably just going to go back to playing MH3U now.

Manari in two words? Hmmmm... Naive huntress. That'll have to do I suppose.

I don't fancy myself knowledgable enough to be as effective of a mentor as most of the others who have already volunteered, but I have been around for over a year and a half now, RPing and doing most of the endgame content in 1.0. So if anyone is interested in RPing the kind of character who is going to be deeply involved in RPing traditional miqo'te culture, or even just someone from Gridania, I'd be willing to help them figure their character out, or help with ideas on backstory and future RP. I do love to help and I guess if there's anything I don't know, I know exactly who to ask anyway.

Manari would best fit Botany, of that spot isn't taken yet. She's one with nature and lives in harmony with the Twelveswood and all that stuff. I would be honored if you'd allow me a place in your project.

I'm happy that I'll be getting some new Manari art very soon. I'm happy that I've found several people in this community that have become some of the best friends I could have asked for, and I'm making more friends all the time. I'm happy that I've come up with a character and story for my RP that I really like. And I'm happy that I just got a brand new monitor today for my PC.

Manari is a jaguar. A natural huntress that stalks the jungle and delivers one fatal blow to her prey. They also really love their babies.

Manari did not do the time warp. So when ARR starts, she will be 23 cycles. I really wish I could have taken the time skip, because all the journals and events I have to write are a lot of work.

Manari believes all of her family is dead. My answer(s) to the poll are kinda spoilers, not that it really matters. At the start of ARR, she will have a child that she will be desperately hoping is still alive as well. I don't want to give too much away right now.

I had a great time. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to gem that Barioth X armor, but we will see what I can come up with. Playing with friends is so much better than playing with random people, which is pretty much all I could do in MHT. I had a blast and look forward to doing it again.

That would be awesome of you, Shipp. I'd love to hunt with you anyway. I have some higher end high rank gear thanks to all the 9 star moga village quests, but I'm only HR5 online, and I had to solo the Ivory Lagiacrus Urgent quest to get that far! But it's mostly my fault. I'm not the kind of person who enters a room and posts all the crap I need and doesn't want to help others. I do a bunch of quests for other people then the leader leaves. Haha. I'd love you forever if you helped me get to G Rank. I'm itching to test my soloing skills there, and to be able to hunt alongside the rest of you hunters already there.

I am Monster Hunter Manari! Actually my hunter is named Orion and he's a MAN. A man's man. But yeah, I play every night, not always online though. I'm usually on very late, like 10PM EST until 3PM EST or so. I pretty much always play and have almost completely finished every single player quest for Moga Village, and have been having trouble getting random people online to actually assist me in doing key quests and urgents. Everyone is so selfish usually. But I am a verteran hunter and excel in the Great Sword. I'd LOVE to hunt with people from the RPC and this is a great idea, Nel. Oh right, my WiiU nintendo ID thingy is swordsmanorion I think. or Swordsman Orion.

I've been having a bit of trouble putting my exact thoughts on Manari's sexuality into words. I can easily give you the TL;DR version, though. Manari has had strong feelings for both men and women. For that reason I had to choose bisexual, because she has been with both men and women at some point. Manari's own IC thoughts on the matter aren't so black and white. The way she was raised, the way her tribe had to be, romantic relationships with woman and men couldn't happen. There were just not many men in her Keeper of the Moon tribe. As such, women being with other women was common and something that wasn't really looked at as making you gay or bisexual. Manari certainly and absolutely perfers to be with a man over a woman. She has, however, found comfort in the arms of women after relationships with men didn't turn out so well, and has actually fallen deeply in love with one particular woman at one point, which is the sole reason I felt I needed to choose bisexual. Currently she is extremely happy in a relationship with a man, one of her own race no less, which means a lot to her.
