  2. Nothing is difficult if you have a core group of people you run everything with. Cooperation in natural in such a setting, which is how these fights are set up. Not all of us are so lucky and some have nothing but the Duty Finder to work with. People use the Duty Finder for varying reasons, and as such are not in the same mindset. Some people don't even talk at all, which makes communication and coordination very difficult, making winning the fight very difficult. Posting a reply that says nothing besides "Psh, it was already easy." doesn't really accomplish anything positive.
  3. I just did this trial for the first time last week (of course they would nerf it right after I do it) and like most things I do, I am forced to use Duty Finder. Of course I had watched the video to see what I was in store for, and my first reaction to the video was "Wow... this is a lot of coordination to ask of a DF party." And it really was. We went through a few rage quits before we finally got a group of people who would all listen and do what they were supposed to, and also not miss with the Dragonator or whatever this game calls it. I didn't go up there and fire it, so I honestly have no idea how easy or hard it is to hit with it. If it's anything like using the Dragonator in Monster Hunter, then you certainly have to use some intelligence before just pressing that button. But this is good news since this Trial is part of the Trial Roulette, and I wasn't looking forward to seeing that one come up again.
  4. I don't usually RP out the main story. You really can't when it has your character being the one true hero who is destined to save the realm time and time again. So regardless of what is happening in the main storyline or where the new expansions go, it doesn't really have any impact on my RP. As such, I wasn't really planning on going to Ishgard at all. If a good IC reason comes along, then I would, but I don't really see that happening.
  5. GREEN Anyone who has ever even seen Manari in passing would think to themselves. "That girl must really like green." And they would be right. She does love green. Both for practical purposes for remaining unseen deep in the forest, and because it also happens to be her favorite color.
  6. I listen to the Guilty Gear X soundtrack all the time. It's still one of my favorite things to listen to, to this day. And Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead) happens to be one of my personal favorites, along with Awe of She (GGX version), Writhe In Pain, and Existence. ...and Blue Water Blue Sky, and Fatal Duel, and Liquor Bar and Drunkard, and A Solitude That Asks Nothing In Return, and almost all of them.
  7. Hmmm, Manari would either work for the Environmental Protection Agency, become a forest park ranger, or start a Kickstarter to have Captain Planet revived with new seasons. Or possibly work for the CIA doing things that never happened, and don't exist.
  8. It does seem rather over used, doesn't it? It seems every time Manari steps out of her forest, she has to deal with someone's voidsent problem in one way or another.
  9. Ohhh, Manari really gets tired of hearing this: "You're a Moon Keeper? I thought you were a Seeker." That makes her so mad. You think anyone who would seek out the sun would have skin that pale white?
  10. As far as disregarding lore goes, I remember this was a big topic of debate when 2.0 finally launched and people were burning through the original story missions. At the end of 1.0, the final cut scene showed Derplander's team of adventurers being warped away somewhere just as Bahamut decided to start going on a rampage. Then it all ended. For almost a year we were left to debate what exactly happened there. The scene where Derplander's party reappears and calls their chocobos didn't appear until one of later phases of 2.0's beta. Most believed that Derplander's party was a proxy for our characters in the cut scene therefore we all got teleported somewhere. Others believed that in the storyline, specifically only Derplander's party was transported. Then there were debates over exactly where/when they were transported to. Most of us RP'ed that our character was somehow involved in that massive battle against the Garleans. Which was more difficult for some than others. A few of us RPed that our characters either fled the Realm or otherwise sought out safety. After all, an entire moon was about to crash into our land. Once 2.0 released, it was made clear that our characters were transported 5 years into the future, just as most of us had heard or guessed. But what we didn't expect was the plot point that no one remembered us. So there was a big debate in the RP community about this. Some people said that you /must/ RP all your friends and family completely forgetting about you if you teleported through time, because the game clearly says that no one can remember the "Warriors of Light". Also, if you didn't teleport through time, you /must/ forget about every character you've ever RPed with who did time travel. The Echo seemed to be the one way around this. So suddenly, many characters developed The Echo as a way to circumvent this plot point. Other people just decided that they didn't like having to forget every bit of RP they had ever done and chose to ignore it completely. In the end, I don't think it mattered since in the storyline the Warriors of Light are eventually remembered anyway. But it was a classic case of SE throwing in some special "your character is the one true hero" plot point stuff that everyone interpreted into their RP in a different way. What this all boils down to is how /your/ character specifically will react to an Au Ra, not how SE says their NPCs will react. Manari has never seen one before, so of course she's going to be a little shocked. I have a male highlander alt that just likes pretty girls regardless of what race they are. When he sees an Au Ra (female) he will react much differently than Manari will. That's how I'm looking at it.
  11. It ain't easy being such a manly macho man.
  12. <_<; >_>;; >_<;;; It's too shameful to admit.
  13. Why is Manari in Limsa Lominsa? She hates Limsa Lominsa. "Why the hells am I here?" Says Manari
  14. That glass would never see Manari coming. Before anyone could even ask the question, it would be left completely empty without a trace of who emptied it.
  15. [align=justify]Personal Profile Character Name: Manari Onai (Real name: Mnahri Nahkuru) Gender: Female Race: Miqo'te - Keeper of the Moon Domestic Profile Civil Status: None Place of Residence: The Twelveswood Occupation: None (She lives off the land.) Free Company: Shroudwolf Clan Social Profile Manari is a true forestborn Keeper of the Moon through and through. She was raised in a Keeper clan, grew up leaning to hunt, track, and fight using bow and dagger. She is a nocturnal and is a child of Menphina like any of her Moon-sisters. She has become a reclusive and secluded hermit in the forest. She has been living alone in the woods for about a year now and has lost contact with just about everyone she used to know. She's much less sugary and kind than she used to be years ago before the fall of the red moon. Whether something is wrong, or whether she grew tired of Eorzean society and wanted to return to her roots in anyone's guess. Meta Profile Since the Calamity, tragic events have caused a change in Manari. She used to hunt beasts for food and protection. Now she hunts whatever threatens her homeland, the badly wounded Twelveswood. She feels the red moon injured her home enough that it can no longer protect itself like it once could. She has become the Greenwrath personified, a self-appointed avenger of the Twelveswood that strikes from the shadows to protect the forest, and make sure any who come after will know the same could happen to them. Whether they be poachers, iron-clad Garleans, or greedy Ul'dah gil-gluttons looking to profit from exploiting her homeland, all will know that the Twelveswood is protected.
  16. I suppose I could add a rumors section to my wiki. But all I have for it is a few NPC rumors I made up myself for Manari. I don't think anyone around knows Manari anymore, and Manari has been a forest hermit so long that she doesn't know anyone around any more either.
  17. I am a few years past overdue on updating my wiki. But seeing as I finally seem to be getting back into regular RP, I think I should probably take some time to add everything that's happened after 1.0. Because that's the last time I gave it any real update. So if I ever get around to it, its going to be a bit of a time investment. I never did understand the wiki code, I just used the editor. I'm not sure if that's acceptable or if it makes it bad, but I did the best I could.
  18. Ohhh, there's a clan of Keepers now? I've always wanted something like this. I'm returning from a long break after previous internal FC drama soured my will to RP. I'd love to be a part of something like this. Manari is as traditional of a Keeper as you will ever find, and deep inside that hardened, closed off heart of hers she really wants to be in the company of her own kind again.
  19. The answer is GREEN. Manari rarely leaves the Twelveswood IC. But no matter where she is, she loves to wear green. I have a few casual outfits and one for when she is "hunting". All of them are dyed hunter green, the perfect color for blending into the Twelveswood. Even her chocobo is hunter green, and he looks amazing! :chocobo:
  20. One thing I did do, both back in 1.0 and right away as soon as 2.0 was released, was travel across every city and camp, looking at every NPC I could find to see how many Keepers of the Moon I could find outside of the Black Shroud. My search wasn't necessarily 100% all inclusive, but after a lengthy trip across the realm right after ARR went live, I think I had found something like 3 Keepers in all of La Noscea, and I don't think I even found one in Thanalan. But they are very common all throughout the Black Shroud. But regardless of whether or not I missed a few, it is plain to see that Keepers of the Moon absolutely prefer to stay within their forest. And that made me happy because that's exactly how I've always RPed Manari since day one. Now Seekers of the Sun, those girls are everywhere. I found tons of them in La Nocsea and Thanalan, of course. But there are also a surprisingly large amount of them even in the Black Shroud. I found this interesting to take note of.
  21. I haven't RPed in a very long time, but I'm glad to see there are finally some other traditional Keepers around. Even right after ARR started there were almost none of us. I've been trying my best to RP a very traditional Keeper of the Moon since early 1.0. Collecting lore tidbits has been very hard up until 2.0 happened, but it's always seemed to me that Keepers of the Moon had a complicated history with Gridania and Wildwoods. I always felt like I should RP getting along with Duskwights and RP having issues with Wildwoods. I combed through all the Gridania quests that I could for lore, but it seems like the previous posters found a few more things than I could. I just wanted to add that it was always my personal feeling that truly traditional Keepers would probably be far more loyal to the Twelveswood as a whole and care less about Gridania specifically. I've always RPed Manari as being very eager to bond with other Keepers that she meets, yet also having a burning hatred for the poachers that have made her life hard by giving her a bad reputation, regardless of the fact that they, too, are Keepers.
  22. Oskar! I'm glad to see you return. I'm not going to lie, I missed the RP you created very very much since you left. I sincerely hope to meet your new character IC sometime soon. And if you need any help with the game itself, I'd be glad to assist you.
  23. What is the music in the cheerleader video? It was so epic and dramatic, I love it! Also, naturally I approve of Miqo'te cheerleaders. But I think we can do better with finding cheerleading uniforms. The coatees are SO 1.0.
  24. Manari's IC outfit for when she is out in the woods "on business". Manari and her mate, Nahue. This is what Manari often wears when she is out and about in town or when she has to travel.
