I don't know what keys anyone is talking about >_> I've been in beta since March and we've never had keys. Our accounts just have access to the site & consequently the download. But yes, I've updated the beta client with the update they posted to the beta forums at 4am today. :cheer:

I'm playing a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te. They are characterized by S-E as being more lively, outgoing, and playful than their Moon Keeper counterparts, which to me seem far too serious. My Mithra in FFXI was also quite playful, and I enjoyed that part of the game. I also like the backstory of the Miqo'te, what little of it we know. Their dual natured worshiping of the sun & moon, their reputation as hunters, their occultism, is all something I'd like to explore more of in my character. I admit though, this time around what with their 10 year old voices and their overly cutesy looks, I was tempted to scrap my Miqo'te idea and make an Elezen or Hyur instead.

If you go downstairs to where there is a testing ring and a few NPCs standing around watching, one of them talks about how Garlean tech could be potentially devastating if it fell into the wrong hands, and so that's why they confiscate it. Then upstairs there is an NPC that talks about how Limsa Lominsa keeps changing what's on the safe and unsafe lists, so ships are getting their cargo confiscated left & right because no one can keep up with the changing lists. I never said S-E was very consistent with their lore, and I remember the conversation you are talking about between Y'sh and Baderon, but there are NPCs at the customs hall that talk about confiscating Garlean tech like it happens every day.

There is a customs office in Limsa Lominsa that exists purely in part to confiscate "illegal" Garlean technology (as well as contraband from other regions of Hydaelyn) so that it doesn't get into the hands of regular old Eorzeans, and some NPCs speculate casually about whether or not the Garleans are going to come over and wipe out the kobolds in their holy war, so I think that there is definitely regular communication between Garlemald and Eorzea. That guy looks NEAT.

Haha I think this time around, we are going to be up to our ears in redundant wikis. Allakhazam and Eorzeapedia both have had wikis up with the same info as Core's for quite some time, and we are making a lore wiki here for this site as well, not to mention individual guilds with wikis. At least this time around, everyone will be quite well-informed, I suppose.

There are quite a few paths that lead to secret beaches with good views of Limsa Lominsa. There's also two out-of-the-way spots in LL that have statues to Llymlaen overlooking the water.

Yeah, I think if they had just come out and laid it out clearly for everyone at the beginning, none of this panic would have happened. As it is, I think at maximum I'll be playing for 3 hours a day. With at least one combat job (probably 2), a crafting job, and a gathering job, I am never going to hit that cap, LOL.

It does effect your skill points, however. Like this: While your physical experience points may begin to dwindle, the system also starts skimming off skill points, putting them into "surplus." What it does with those is anyone's guess. Like I said in the other forum, I apparently am "surplus rank 4" in pugilist.

Amazon has release-date shipping that guarantees it will arrive on release day, so I should be getting mine the same day that CE copies are available in stores. ^_^b

It takes way longer to use that emote window than it would for me to type out an emote on the fly, and even longer than it would for me to use pre-made emote macros... Since it doesn't make any sense for them to take away typed emotes, I am still going with "it will almost definitely be in the game." If not, just one more failure on S-E's part in this whole mess, I suppose.

Snurbles are in-game monsters that look like tribbles from Star Trek but use Cure III and Protect III on you, like pixies from FFXI. :3 <3

Favorite emote: /examine self. Disappeared Dad/Mysterious Parent -- She has never met her father, & her mother has told her some stories about him that are highly suspect in the "believability" department. Action Girl -- 100%! Good Bad Girl The Captain There's probably more, and for sure some weird amalgamations of tropes in her, but that's a good starting point. ^_^b
