Trying to get back into drawing with a doodle, haha.

Y'shenn Tia An enthusiastic bodyguard-for-hire that could probably double as a personal trainer. Never one to shirk from physical exercise, this miqo'te youth's optimism can be rather contagious. Just make sure to speak plainly, for he would never understand you otherwise.

I often like using game soundtracks as themes for my characters, haha. This would be Y'shenn's:

Hello! Congratulations on 50 Weaver! Definitely getting the rest of your crafters to 15, Culinarian to 37, and Carpenter to 50 will really help you, so that's great! Then from there, level up in whatever order suits your needs. Personally, I found that leveling up all your classes simultaneously through daily Grand Company turn-ins and Ixali Beastmen quests is really beneficial while you concentrate on one crafter with Levequests. This takes some pressure off in the long run, and it helps since many recipes use ingredients crafted by other crafters. You can even just buy the turn-in item off the market if it's convenient/cheap. Remember, turning in HQ items nets more experience, and eating food can help too! Your Grand Company also sells Engineering Manuals for crafting experience. Doing Botany and Mining Grand Company turn-ins is also nice, since it means less spending gil on materials as you are able to gather more things! This also means you can make Botany/Mining retainers, which are nice when you're too lazy to go gather more materials or crystals. For cross-class skills, I think it really depends on what your end goal is. At level 50, you can get away with HQing 2-star recipes with only level 15 cross skills. But if you plan to go for 3-stars, Byregot's Blessing, Steady Hand 2, Ingenuity 2, Careful Synthesis 2, and Comfort Zone save you a lot of trouble. Innovation is a good skill, but I wouldn't say it is essential until getting 4-star. Piece by Piece and Reclaim see much more use when you aim to go to 4-star. Waste Not 2 isn't particularly useful compared to the others. I found it helpful to get Leatherworker, Weaver, Goldsmith, and Blacksmith up just because you can craft/meld most of your own crafting gear (and sell it for gil!). Goldsmith and Leatherworker also help for desynthesis. This is a pretty comprehensive, although long, crafting guide for everything up to 4 star, which I found particularly helpful. This reddit thread, this thread, and this thread also have some good tips, and are a shorter read. Good luck, and happy crafting!

cancelled Harbingers' Weekly Tavern Night (Thursday nights, 9PM EST)
Kirostyle replied to Faye's topic in Chronicled Events
Congratulations on the move! I noticed when I couldn't find your tree to steal Starlight Letters from, haha. Looking forward to Tavern Night! -
Added a friend's character to this picture for fun haha. Happy holidays, folks!

Thanks guys! I actually want to try painting and working linelessly for fun, since lately I've been seeing a lot of beautiful paintings, haha. Guess it's a hard transition to make, but I admit, it is fun!

"What if I Photoshopped Y’shenn’s head on to the body of Shen Woo from King of Fighters?" Not drawn by me LOL. Was just playing around with some friends for fun. It...strangely works fairly well. The original KOFXII art by Eisuke Ogura, can be found here. Tumblr version

This was my entry for the Las Vegas Fanfest art contest! Had to rush the colouring big time because I procrastinated too much LOL. Not completely satisfied with how it turned out, but still pretty happy with it. Tumblr art version Tumblr photo version

Wanted to draw Y'shenn a full body picture for his Wiki page. Not completely satisfied with the pose, but I'll work on this more!

Hello! My name's Kiro (although you may also call me Y'shenn), and I draw from time to time... Thought I'd make a thread like all the cool kids. Gonna use this first post just to post status updates, art can be seen in the posts below. Commissions: CLOSED Art Trades: CLOSED Requests: CLOSED I'm a pretty good procrastinator, and a terribly slow artist, so I don't really anticipate opening these any time soon. (This thread will probably update very slowly as well.) But who knows what the future might hold! Links: deviantArt Tumblr (Art Blog) Tumblr (FFXIV stuff) I don't update any of these sites as often as I should haha... But thank you for stopping by!

So excited for the expansion, but I'm also really stoked for the World of Darkness- not only because it means more of G'raha Tia, but also THOSE NEW OUTFITS- I can definitely foresee using that monk gear as glamour for Y'shenn...

Hello! Haven't had the time to read through this whole thread yet, but I wanted to link this crafting guide (part two here) I found, which was immensely helpful in figuring out 3-star and 4-star HQ rotations! It's a comprehensive crafting guide, especially if you're just getting started, but the later sections have some really good advice! Also friendly reminder that Ariyala's FFXIV Gear Calculator has a crafting gear section as well for figuring out stats and melds! As for getting Fieldcraft Demimateria 3, I find it the easiest to get with leatherworker. Once you get close to 50.0, you can desynth cheap Legionary Visors to level up until you can get a semi-decent chance at desynthesizing Best Man's Gaiters and Bridesmaid's Sandals at Sunsilk Tapestries for Hard Hippogryph Leather, and Fieldcraft Demimateria 3! The new desynthesis items for the Zodiac relic quest at the Silver Bazaar are also good for leveling desynthesis around 50.0~70.0. Lastly, if you want HQ artisan gear (or any crafted gear, for that matter), but don't want to or cannot craft it yourself, I always find it cheaper to get the materials yourself and pay a reliable crafter to make it for you than to buy it straight off the marketboard. (Ixali beastmen quests are worth all the time and effort!)

This sounds like a lot of fun! Hope everyone has a good time! Unfortunately, I have my friends' Eternal Bond Ceremony to attend at that time hahaha

Oh! My FFXIV tumblr is coeurlfist for Y'shenn, and my personal art tumblr is kirostyle!

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Kirostyle replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I was leveling my alt character, who isn't in a Free Company or Linkshell at the moment. DPS class. Waits over 30 minutes to get into the Bowl of Embers just to progress my story quest. Seems like the others might be new too. Before the tank and other DPS even finish loading, healer says "Oh, I wanted a dungeon for my roulette. Good luck." And leaves. 15 minutes until we got another healer join in-progress. LOL. In the end it all worked out, but man... -

Kirostyle replied to Caex Vaeriar's topic in Chronicled Connections
Oh, sounds like fun! If I happen to see you online, I'll give you a poke! Or if we miss each other too many times, we can try and set up a time hahaha. Looking forward to RPing with you! -
Just wanted to say, thanks again for organizing this, Sastra! I really like how you even bolded the one who would start, great idea! I'll get started on my correspondence soon~

I. Basic Info Characters: Y'shenn Tia (Balmung), Y'shenn Tia (Malboro), G'raha Tia (Balmung) Primary character: Y'shenn Tia Linkshells: N/A Primary RP linkshell: N/A II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I enjoy medium to heavy RPs, but I don't mind light RPs, especially in social settings when meeting new people. Paragraph-style RPs are always fun, but dialogue-script-style is fine as well! Generally, I try to match whomever I am RPing with at the time. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind combat in RP, but I trust that the other person does not go overboard. Just please don't powerplay (ie. leave me some options, instead of handing me unavoidable attacks). Likewise, if you don't like anything I do, let me know. If there are certain rules you would like to follow (dice rolling, etc), then let's discuss it ahead of time! I usually decide if I want my character to have lasting injuries or scars, but like everything else, I'm open to discussion! Views on IC romance: Attempts at romance are generally fine, as long as it's in-character! I prefer to have relationships develop naturally as RP progresses. Y'shenn, however, is pretty dumb when it comes to romance, so things usually go over his head. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Very open to this! Like above, it's nice when these ties develop naturally through RP, but if you wanted to create some sort of connecting backstory or something, just talk to me! Views on lore: I try my best to play within the lore, but of course, I don't know everything there is to know about Hydaelyn, so finer details might escape me. I don't really care if the people I RP with bend the lore around, within reason (ex. If you told me you were Bahamut himself, I just might not believe you-). As long as we're having fun, it's all good! Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I don't mind RPing with /say, /em and emotes. I'll put things my character says in quotation marks, so it'd be pretty obvious what he's saying. I'll use double brackets if I need to say something OOC in the middle. If the chat is really busy and I happen to miss a post, I apologize in advance! For longer, more intense and/or private RPs, I prefer party chat. I'm usually wary about RPing through /tell because I just know I'm gonna accidentally shout it out loud. I don't have any linkshells now, but I assume each one has their own house rules. III. Other Info Country: Canada Timezone: Mountain (MT) Contact info: Contact me through the forum, in-game or on tumblr. I don't log on to the game as specific time intervals, so if you really want to catch me, we can set up a time! [align=center][glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow][/align]

This sounds like a lot of fun! I really love being able to take my time and write meaningful replies, no matter the timezone! Sign me up, with Y'shenn Tia! Frequency doesn't really matter to me, nor does anonymity! Thank you!

Hello! I happened upon this thread and thought I'd offer my two cents. I started my monk Novus back before the Nexus was announced, so I was in no hurry. Between the "Morbid Motivation" daily map quest and casually buying maps from Auriana whenever I happened to have enough, it took me about two months to get all 75. My friends and I never had any luck getting Alexandrites from FATEs. Lately, I've found that hard mode primals and Turn 4 of the Binding Coil of Bahamut are surprisingly fast and easy to spam, even by yourself. The reason why is because of Novus light grinding. You can check here to see what bonus windows are up (if a hard mode primal or Binding Coil turn are listed as "Bright," then it is the current bonus). If something is currently on bonus, you can bet that the queue will be very quick (even if you're DPS!) and the run usually lasts no more than a couple minutes, since a lot of Novus wielders will be queueing up for it repeatedly. I personally find Ifrit, Garuda, and Turn 4 to be the fastest. Even if the bonus is not up, Turn 4 is still pretty easy to queue up for now. People regularly spam this for allagan silk/leather/wootz nuggets, armour/accessories for desynthesis, easy Novus light, and for the Paladin and Warrior mount achievements. 10 soldieries per run may not seem like much, but when you can do 6-10 runs an hour, it adds up. If you happen to get one new person in the party, you'll also get the 100 soldiery bonus! High level roulette is nice, but the queues are usually fairly long, especially if you're a DPS. Also keep in mind that you'll get less soldieries if you happen to get Wanderers' Palace or Amdapor Keep, as opposed to Tamtara (HM), Stone Vigil (HM) or Hullbreaker Isle. It is a bit more fun than repeatedly doing the same trials though, haha. If you get a party full of new people, though, it might take longer than expected. Not sure how high roulettes are now, with the Zodiac weapon quest. I heard it's better than it used to be. One of my friends got their Novus only a week or two after getting their Animus. When I asked them how they did it, the answer was in The Hunt. Basically, they hunted non-stop and bought Alexandrities using Allied Seals, and maps using Tomestones of Mythology (which are, as you know, now bought using Tomestones of Soldiery). They were hunting even when they still had their Animus, so I'm sure they had Alexandrites even before completing the Animus books. Mind you, this was back when non-weekly B rank hunts still gave everyone rewards, so I doubt the same feat would be possible now. But The Hunt is still a very viable option, especially if you happen to be on when all the marks pop! Hope that was a bit helpful. Good luck!

[Balmung] A new miqo'te pugilist RPer in town
Kirostyle replied to Kirostyle's topic in Welcome Desk
Thanks for the welcome, Yhen! Ooooooh, thanks so much for the suggestions, Faye! I'll have a look into them! It's nice to see organized FCs that have rules, active websites, and applications. So used to seeing groups that just take in whoever for whatever reason hahaha. Hope to see you around! -
[Balmung] A new miqo'te pugilist RPer in town
Kirostyle replied to Kirostyle's topic in Welcome Desk
Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! I look forward to seeing you all around! I'll make a note of your names so I can keep my eyes peeled in-game, haha! Creeps on your wiki pages in the meantime LOL- -
Hello! My name is Kiro (feel free to call me by my character's name as well), and I'm new to Balmung and the RPC forums! My main account, Y'shenn Tia, is on Malboro, where all my close friends are. I've played FFXIV since the launch of Realm Reborn and been enjoying every moment! But I've been wanting to get my feet wet with FFXIV RP, and make new friends, so I made another Y'shenn Tia on Balmung. Although I'm new to Balmung, I'm not new to RPing. I used to join a fair number of RP groups on deviantArt, so I do have experience. FFXIV is, however, my first MMO! I made a wiki entry for Y'shenn, and I also have an FFXIV tumblr: RPC Wiki Entry Tumblr Since I don't really know anyone on Balmung, it's been a bit daunting to get started, but I look forward to meeting some of you and getting involved! Shoot me a message in-game, through Tumblr, via the forum, etc.! I'm always up for RPing and meeting new folks! While I'm here, does anyone have any recommended linkshells, free companies, etc.? Both for RPing and general OOC. My new character is currently a level 26 pugilist, and it'd be nice to have people willing to help me run content (those DPS queues!) as I trek through the main story once again haha. Thanks everyone, and nice to meet you!
