  1. When I was learning photoshop I made some images with some of my characters for fun so I guess I'll share: Well this was for a friend not my character lol. I turned this one into a sig later Okay a friend asked me to do a romantic pic, when I was new to photoshop, of our characters Seigfreid and Nannette. I did this intially, before I discovered the joy of dats: He wasnt' too thrilled so, as I was making a second request of his, I did a much better one he loved for a sig: Since I was so pleased I did a series of romantic images on a whim:
  2. Yes Nannette is blind which is an interesting challenge to play. She was attacked twice by her twin sister, Nikkita the BLM you see in the images above, leaving her blind and crippled. Sort of a good twin/bad twin thing lol. Nikkita was recently killed though by Nan's husband Seig, the elvaan kissing her in the sig I did for the friend above, so it won't happen again lol. It was fun playing a psycopathic serial killer for awhile though lol. Though I'm discontinuing rping a few characters, trying to save some money, I'll still be doing her.
  3. Okay I'll share though I've only recently just started on these in the last 6 months or so and am a novice in photoshop lol I recently experimented with motion sigs: This is my current one. Did this for a friend who stopped Rping shortly after lol. Not a Sig but a Storyline Banner: Some sigs where I was just learning what I was doing lol: For a Friend:
  4. After rereading the above the statement I'm most nervous about on RDM is being given "more free time in parties" which could signal major nerf. I mean I'd like more time to be a enhance debuff specialist and not a "pink mage" in parties but I don't want to sit there and be able to do nothing.
  5. I just thought I'd post what they actually said they were thinking about from the Bluegatr recap thread: Anyway you nervous WHM may want to note that "Besides being an expert healer, White Mage may receive some tweaks to allow it some bonuses for fulfilling this purpose" and us poor RDM they have no clue how to not let you guys outshine us just yet. Like I said I'm far more nervous about the fuure of my favorite job than what I've read about the others. I do have some hope for RDM though because later in the post its quoted Specifically, Red Mages were mentioned, and promised that while Jobs could sub Refresh, an extra potent Refresh would become available at a higher level.
  6. I was just wondering for all of you guys still playing how do you feel about the changes SE is making to FFXI? I'm hoping the server merge will help me get some of the missions and things nobody is around to help with and maybe breathe a little life into the RP on Asura. I'm not sure what to think about the cap raise yet without more info but I do like they will put in Endgame content you don't need a massive alliance and deal with a premadonna LS. Social groups and even RP groups could probably band together to do them. Thoughts anyone? Edit: Ok I suck at typing fast. Errors fixed.
  7. I don't mean separate rules in behavior but that a separtate paragraph or somthing be added into the rules that just have been posted to address how disruptions should be handled when caused by Freelancers. I'm also stating to make it clearly stated that Freelancers are subject to the rules just as those in the guild are too.
  8. Mythis I wasn't talking about griefing on the forum. I was meaning more like a forum thread moderator that could be contacted if a Freelancer got out of hand and had to be dealt with by the RPC. I got the feeling from Cas that there will be a representative to the Council from the guilds for voting on issues and that leaves some people out of it. I'm just saying if a guy wants to grief but he can't be held to the same rules it might not seem fair. Also if an issue is voted on and a certain segment of the community isn't represented then there might be hurt feelings. I basically was mulling these things over and thought it might be good to bring them up.
  9. Well if you're intending on also holding freelancers to the rules it will be good to know who they are. For instance if a Freelancer is running around griefing and godmodding per RPC standards a guild would e responsible to talk with them. If they were required to register in a thread moderated by a leader responsible for their behavior it might help.
  10. I was thinking recently, since I'll probably freelance for awhile before I decide on any LS, should we have a section for freelancers to communicate just like offering each guild their own section?
  11. Like Mason said if you create a thread to discuss your story you are inviting both compliments and critcism and have no right to be angry if someone critiques your work. In real-life you take criticism with a grain of salt so its perfectly possible to on this or any other board. If a special thread is made to discuss stories and journals the way Starsider did you can have a topic sticked at the top saying that only authors are allowed to open discussions of their work. Remind them in the post they are inviting crticism and compliments on their work and to talk it with a grain of salt. Also you could post a reminder of the RPC policies against harrassment and that if criticism developes into a flame war or harassment it will be locked. Just make a post in the begining that they rate the story in their topic line via movie or video game guidelines. If I don't want to read explicit content and see: Blood and Sex (Rated R/M) I won't read the topic and get offended. Again just post a warning against meta-gaming in a sticky in that thread and suggest people post whether or not they are willing for content in this to become public knowledge. We routinely did that on starsider. Like I'd write : NOTE: THIS IS JUST A REMINDER THAT YOU WOULD NEED MY PERMISSION TO KNOW OR USE ANY OF THIS MATERIAL DURING RP. MESSAGE ME IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS THIS POSSIBILITY.
  12. Every LS I was ever in posted journals and there was never-ever a fight over them. Nor was this ever-ever-ever a problem in Starsider in the journal sections. This was argueably the most popular section. People who never rped with a character would read and keep up on the journals. It was great fun and you'd be missing out on a lot because of these, in my opinion, silly fears. If you are parnoid about meta-gaming you personally don't have to post a journal or a story. Don't force others not to because of your own fears.
  13. np. I'm used to RPing in messenger so hit me up with a PM if you need any characters.
  14. If you want to borrow any of mine, FFXI since not 100% sure on my FFXVI characters, its fine with me. lol.
  15. Though I've been busy I was thinking how what we've read so far on ffxiv religion and government sounds a lot like ancient Greece. Here's a snipet from about.com so you can see what I mean: If this type of structure seems built in I think its possible for the community to use the different Greek Gods as counterparts to develope city-state religions.
  16. This is very true. Since the plots in the game focus mostly around the the various Altana sects people often miss the other religions only touched on. I've had fun having a mithra with traditional beliefs and a Galka from the East that had been trained as a monk from a shrine devoted to the Pheonix before he became a showman. It just took making up a little bit and I never created an entire system, but it is possible within reason.
  17. A few thoughts before work takes me over for the day. Definitely wait for the Lore to comes out. My approach is to also talk to all the NPC to get a feel for things. Example: For instance I have a character that is an Elshimo Mithra from Khazam and I noticed that the priest there called them heathens and was there to convert which severl resident mithra didn't like. Then I looked other things up and saw that the mithra there were basically a tribal culture that worshiped nature spirits, aka the avataars, and gave offerings to Ifrit. All other indications reminded me of Native American tribes, ie respecting the life of the animals you hunt and so forth, so I built basic religious principles around that to construct her world view. It made for some interesting conflict with devoutly religious Altana worshipers, though since Ash is at heart a diplomot nothing escalated lol. Anyway if I were you I wouldn't go deep into it until you played the game and talked to a bunch of NPC and had official lore. On 100% made-up stuff I think its tricky because you have to make sure it doesn't conflict with official stuff.
  18. We're mentioned in the Mog Log: http://www.massively.com/2010/01/24/the ... i-and-xiv Edit: Posting the quote
  19. If I get the money I might just preorder so its spendt since I might be tempted to use the money for a bill if I don't. Major guilt going on in the need vs want department now from a dad on a budget that lived through the Great Depression does wonders for gilt trips... lol
  20. I speculate that even if the game is a lot more different than FFXI people will still try to claim its FFXI 2.0.
  21. I can't remember where they said it but a Dev said Summons this time will be "more god-like" and we'd "have to jump through a lot more hoops" to get them than in FFXI. Actually, when the game starts it sounds like the Beastmen will be the ones that can summon and we won't.
