Once upon a time there was a little Limsan tavern that brought curious patrons from far and wide together for drunken nights of mischief and mayhem. No cheek could escape the rougey onslaught of the tavern's keepers and no dignity could remain completely unscathed. But it was all in the name of fun, riiiight~? On May 31st at 10PM EST, we invite the community on Balmung to visit us at the Art of War Mansion (Goblet Ward 2, Plot 5) for a night of tavern style games ala our original Soliloquy nights. The type of games up for playing consideration are truth or dare, never have I ever, or Soliloquy's patented "king" dice roller. This is a no-holds-barred style event, so if you're not interested in tavern RP and might be offended by slightly risque (no ERP alarms here, mind you, just a small warning for those who do not appreciate the risque) content, this event is not for you! But~ if you're up for a good natured laugh at the expense of your friends, we hope to see you at the event!

I did originally take gil, but I settled on the prices prior to 2.0 and haven't decided on new equivalents for 2.0 gil values

Seriously though, please don't be a vampire princess unicorn spider queen from space. It's awkward. Mostly true. I can't find much to argue with here. Sometimes it's fun to just poke at this sort of character until they run away or crack though : P. Dude! What good pirate/alcoholic doesn't have booze on them at any given time? What if you're just there to hang out and you want a drink, but you're a cheapskate? Pocket booze, man. Yeah ok, can't argue with that like at aaallll. On the flip-side, don't assume every couple chilling quietly off in a corner is ERpin'. Maybe they're whispering about puppies. Don't judge. Consequences man! They're real! Aren't we going for realism here!? Minus, you know.. the magic.. and animals that don't exist and... well, a lot of other stuff... Still! If you mouth off, get ready to guard your teeth! A agree and disagree with this. In a perfect world, everyone would just be REASONABLE, but this is so often not the case ; ;. If it's in your characters background to be a ninja and you're level 5.. ok maybe just.. keep it under wraps for a while and be a ninja later. Maybe I'll play along, though, if you're REASONABLE with your demands! On the flip side, a number of us have all 50s (me, me, me!), but my character is not a master at arms. You're not a god if you have all 50s! To be fair, Eorzea is in like cooonstant war times. If it makes sense for your parents to be dead and you want em to be dead.. kill em! Maybe keep your parents around and kill em in a plot later! Send them away to an unnamed, far off land to avoid the calamity! So many things you can do with NPC parents... YES! Oh. My. God. Please don't tell me you're an assassin in the middle of the adventurer's guild. Secrets are secrets for a reason! Keep them and only tell people you trust, it's much more fun. This seems sexist >.> Rather than stating this, though, why not make it come to pass. Be desirable if you want people to think of your character as such. Don't just say it. If you want your character to be a playboy, BE a playboy. Same goes with everything from slut to prude and things that have nothing to do with "desire" : P. This seems pretty accurate. I dub it 12 year old syndrome. My apologies to the twelve year olds out there that aren't crazy like this. : P

I can't speak to the amount of roleplay on Gilgamesh, but it's oozing out of the crevices of Balmung (totally gross image). The reason who have two to begin with is because some people who were starting 2.0 FFXIV fresh wanted a completely fresh group to start with (not to mention a fresh economy and other non-rp things like that). On the flip side, Balmung (originally Besaid) has been the unofficial RP server for this community since the original iteration of the game. I'd like to think both servers are thriving, though . As far as sheer volume of RPers, just about any poll or listing of linkshells or members from *this* site is likely to indicate Balmung has more Rping players. This isn't to say Gilgamesh lacks at all in available, quality rp. (This has been a trixy topic in the past, so let's not travel too far down this road, ok err'body : P?) There are also several linkshells (chat channels) on both servers (I believe? Right, you have one, Gilga'?) that people can join just to keep an ear to the ground for rp. Additionally, Square Enix has given us a fancy little button we can click on our free company (guild) information pages to say "this guild does that RP thing!" AND a lot of people put "RPer" in their search comment to make it easier to tell who is and isn't an RPer. Forgive my boldness, but I'm going to go ahead and say of the more recent MMOs floating around, FFXIV has the most staying power in terms of PvE. One of my biggest problems with trying to make time to RP in the game right now is that I just kind of want to play the game itself : P. I've heard many others agree with the sentiment. I've also unfortunately heard that the PvP needs a lot of work, but I haven't tried it. All that said, welcome to both the site and hopefully~ the game! Art of War on Balmung server is a non-RP, but RP friendly end game linkshell with a lot of space on our hands! A few months back we finally reached our goal of getting a large house and as it started to come together we noticed the basement floor looked kind of like a dance hall. Since then, we've given it a little make over: We got to thinking, "Maybe we could rent this out to RPers for their events!" We're also willing to rework furniture upon request. The fee for a night in our basement performance hall/tavern is 50,000 gil not including any setup time. We also have a secondary house that we've built a little theater in: Changes to this are permissible, but to a much smaller degree. The fee for the theater is 25,000 gil. If you'd like to check out the houses personally, we're in the Second Ward of the Goblet on plots 3 and 5.
