  1. I'd be more than happy to offer up invites to our Linkshell. I'll try searching you guys when I'm online. <:
  2. Of course! You're more than welcome to message me here on the RPC, or you can reach Ischyros or myself in game— we tried searching you just now with no results. We'll keep searching you as we log on to see if we can catch each other! We also have Skype if that's easier for getting in contact, and I'd be happy to send you my username via private message. (: Thanks for the response and for getting back to me with more details. Excited to apply to a solid looking group. We're very excited to have you. (: Welcome aboard.
  3. ^ I'm curious, but I'm not sure what all you're looking for, so I don't know if I fit the bill or if its something I feel comfortable whipping up. Though it sounds like someone might have you covered already. ( Depending on what you're looking for, I did Black Sun Vanguard's Banner / Logo / image editing stuff for our website: http://blacksunvanguard.boards.net/ )

  5. I really need to check this more. Well, seeing as Riken joined us today, I assume questions have been answered. Sorry for the delay!
  6. Hi there, Nara! First off, welcome to the FFXIV RP community. Before I start typing I should warn that I have a tendency to novel, so forgive me if this gets lengthy. Second, I'm popping in on behalf of the Black Sun Vanguard to offer a little bit of information on our Free Company. Black Sun Vanguard is a Medium Roleplay Free Company that enjoys immersive roleplay and long term storylines and character development, but we label ourselves as 'Medium' because we also like to enjoy certain aspects of the game outside of roleplay and recognize that people have Real Life commitments and social lives outside of the game that might not allow them to be around 24/7. Our community is made up of roleplayers of various experience levels, from new to old, and we are very welcoming of people whom are new to FFXIV or RP as a whole.
  7. Just giving this a little nudge.
  8. While not in a FC currently, I think I can address some of this. In the OP, it was advertised as "solving problems". This heavily implies WAY more action than the infomercial setting that was later argued as the point. ...I think it was bolded somewhere above, but after the split/migration, I can honestly say I'm not going to be reading back trying to find it. Ah, I see. I must have read over that. But on that note, one could assume that this could involve solving the issue of FCs roleplaying outside their FC (not saying this is a problem, saying that some people wish more FCs were public involved.). Or perhaps an issue could be that a particular FC hasn't had much luck integrating into a community, and wants help doing so. Instead of viewing the glass half empty, people could hope for the best and see how this summit plays out and hope for a glass half full. c: Edit: Late, didn't see the post above mine.
  9. I'm really surprised to see how many people are resistant to this, particularly since many FC leaders have come forward outright stated that they have no interest in 'controlling' anything within the community, much less sticking around a 'meta-clique'. I for one can assure that its not Black Sun Vanguard's intentions when signing up for this, its more of a chance to see what alliances and contracts can be made with other FCs (Such as resource trade, information, allies for similar causes, ect.). Sure, you can use the forums to do this, but sometimes getting ahold of someone on an opposite schedule can be a pain, much less being sure if an FC you are hunting down is even active anymore. I think a lot of roleplayers across Eorzea want a more united RP scene outside their usual group of friends, and if connecting some FCs can help with that, I can't see why it would be a bad thing.
  10. Personal Profile [align=left]Character Name: Ardent Ghost Gender: Female Race: Hellsguard Roegadyn Domestic Profile Civil Status: Resident Place of Residence: The Mists, La Noscea Occupation: Den Warden Free Company: Black Sun Vanguard Social Profile Ardent Ghost, affectionately known as 'Mama Ghost' by her contacts, has resided in Limsa Lominsa for a small number of years now. A general reputation around Limsa Lominsa tells that the older woman has her hands on a number of trades, and oversees all Trade and Public relations for the Black Sun Vanguard. Most if not all commentary regarding the woman seems to be positive, it doesn't seem she's out to make enemies. Meta Profile Ghost is easy to get along with, usually willing to lend ear or aid to those that need it. her character is built to interact with a plethora of personalities and people of different trades, so crafters and gatherers make ideal roleplay connections for her, as well as refugees, homeless or those needing to turn over a new leaf. 11. Elezen Name: Arthurioux Savigny Elezen clan: Duskwight Gender: Male Elezen Name: Sinette Marot Elezen clan: Wildwood Gender: Female Timezone: PST Looking for?: RP, Character Development / Ishgardian Connections. Origins / Lore: Both characters follow lore, and were raised in Ishgard. ( Arthurioux was orphaned due to the Dragonson War and thus had a rough time growing up in Ishgard due to being a Duskwight, otherwise there is nothing out of the ordinary beyond Ishgardian upbringing. ) Limits: No ERP. Anything that would permanently affect my character needs to be approved before hand, otherwise I'm pretty cool with whatever. I have no problems with Walk Up RP, though I do like a heads up because I have a baby in the house.
  12. Sure thing! I'm online right now on Arivi Vel'ecna, if you would like to add me and shoot me a tell, I'd be more than happy to chat it up with you. c:
  13. We sure do! This is our BSV A&F channel, (Alts and Friends) and I'd be happy to invite you to it.
  14. Oh, please feel free! I've been on Arivi Vel'ecna a lot as of late, trying to get her caught up in the Main Storyline. If you'd like to reach me, she's probably your best bet, or you can catch me on Skype at 'Canndid'. We can certainly do training. (:
  15. I'm going to have to very, very strongly suggest against making a character that has been "let in" to Ishgard in the present era (IE the past twenty years of Ishgardian isolation). The lore is extremely clear that NOBODY gets into Ishgard if they are not Ishgardian themselves. Even Ishgardians themselves appear to be under pretty strict rules regarding entering and leaving the city. Now, if you're talking about an outsider joining the astrologians at the Observatorium in Coerthas specifically, that may be plausible. But still kinda iffy. ^I second this. I should have probably clarified in my post that I only see it plausible if it was pre-closing. (Though I guess I kind of implied it. Oh well.)
  16. Alrighty, just wanted to be sure because the initial 'well known' FCs threw me a bit. I completely understand now, thank you for clarifying. c:
  17. It might be a good idea to start out with any RP FCs joining, not just well known ones. The Summit could be a really good way for smaller FCs to get their foot in the door and meet some of the other FCs around the server to plan inter FC events. Limiting it to the people who have their feet on the ground may cause those struggling to make a name for themselves to retreat back into not roleplaying out in the open. Some people have a really hard time recruiting on Balmung and often give up a week in when the fruits of their labor are unrewarded. (Or so I am noticing.) That being said, not sure if we fit the well known category, but I think the leader of Black Sun Vanguard would be interested in this, and as Co-Leader I know I am. I can be online whenever (I may just have baby aggro, but I'll manage.), but Ischyros would only be able to attend on Thursdays or Fridays. We don't have a house yet due to the lack of houses for sale (have money, no house, QQ), so please forgive us for skipping out on hosting. Also for fear of baby aggro, I will not be volunteering us for speaker, either. d: But we would love to attend. Ischyros Estalia and Ardent Ghost would be attending for Black Sun Vanguard. If Ischyros can not attend, Reilan Orycia will attend as my plus one. EDIT: If we decide a date that is in the future enough, Ischyros can request it off from work to attend.
  18. I. Basic Info Characters: Ardent Ghost, Arivi Vel'ecna, Sinette Marot, Lilini Lini, Rhaava Rinh, Arthurioux Savigny, Nathan Gray && Z'asah Tia Primary character: Ardent Ghost && Arivi Vel'ecna Linkshells: BSV IC, BSV A&F, BSV Padfoot && Black Sun Trading Co. Primary RP linkshell: BSV IC II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy; I am a mother to a six month old babu, so I am very limited in the times I can jump into roleplay at the moment. When I am in a roleplay scene, however, I am very heavily immersed. Views on RP combat and injuries: As a general rule, I don't believe in rolling for combat. I think players should be able to come to a general agreement on injuries and be understanding what their characters are capable of. Some of my characters are more likely to throw down than others. Views on IC romance: Personally I am not comfortable getting into In Character romance with anyone other than my husband for risk of Out of Character parties getting 'too attached' and crossing the line of In Character and Out of Character (and this has very much happened in the past), I, however, have no problem witnessing In Character Romance and really enjoy seeing those kind of relationships grow and develop over time. c: Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Totally and one hundred percent down for this. If my character has a relative in their history that is not currently played and is plausible, I am completely okay with another player 'adopting' them. Views on lore: 100% stick to lore in game. However, as the lack of lore in Final Fantasy XIV is a known thing is certain areas, I think its virutally harmless to take small liberties to make ends meet, so long as players are willing to adjust them if contradictory lore is released. Have to take it with a grain of salt. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Personally I view any chat channel as Out of Character unless designated otherwise. I am never in character in Shout, Free Company, Party, Alliance or Linkshell chats unless it is blatantly an In Character channel. I try not to use 'say' chat for anything other than In Character. Same for Emoting. (With the exception of dancing while AFK or OOC.) III. Other Info Country: Canada Timezone: Pacific Standard Time Contact info: In game or 'Canndid' on Skype.
  19. Ah, I forgot to thank you for mentioning us, Flo. I was a little caught up in my habitual novelling. Thank you~! c:
  20. I agree with all of the sentiments posted regarding it being possible. I believe that an Ishgardian Miqo'te is completely possible. Ishgard didn't close its gates recently (considering how old Ishgard is), and while xenophobia is prevalent now, its not implied that it was always as bad as it is today. I always just assumed that refugees and misplaced vagrants just kind of found themselves in Ishgard's lower caste depending on certain situations. That being said, they would not have an easy life, I would imagine. Personally, Black Sun Vanguard's history is made up of various refugees having involvement, and a few Miqo'te have a place in it. I don't see it being a stretch that a Miqo'te would have settled in Coerthas somehow prior to it being iced over (seeing as it wasn't always a cold wasteland) and sticking around because they feel loyal to Ishguard. I know that one of our miqo'te members was orphaned in Coerthas and taken into Ishgard as such. It could also be suggested that some higher ranking houses might be into some shady exotic stuff, so there's that too. (Its implied somewhere in game, don't give me that look.) Its not hard to find loop holes or things that are possible and plausible if done correctly. For example, one of my characters is an Ishgardian Duskwight. His family / clan lived in some of the caves in Coerthas and were tragically caught in the crossfire when a small brood of dragons were cornered in the very same caves by an Ishgardian strike unit. As one of the survivors, he was taken to an (lower caste) orphanage in Ishgard and dropped off there. Has had a rough life because of it and is basically just getting by as a blacksmith, but it works and I haven't come across any resistance for it. The Ishgardians may be very xenophobic and very standoffish, but I don't think they're all completely heartless. c: On the subject of the Miqo'te being an Astrologian, however, I pretty much agree with everything thats been said. Possible, but would not have been easy.
