I've never explicitly retired a character in any sense. Anytime I've stopped playing a character who I really got into RP with, it's because I've had to abandon them due to anxiety. At that point, I can't even talk to anyone, so there's no way of getting any closure. Not sure I have any relevant point, just had to get it off my chest.

Um, yeah. My social anxiety has been getting the better of me. And in fact has again for the last two weeks. Oops.

I'm sure there'll be other double mounts, now that they've got the tech for them.

Barely anyone is not the same as no one. Also, there's been some since I posted initially.

It's come to my attention that I did not make it clear that this account may only work for players in in 'European' territories. I'm not sure whether you can just create a European account from scratch in North America. So, uh, keep that in mind. On another note, the preorder code comes with the game. If you already have the game, it would be kind of douchey to enter (at least for the main prize, entering the signal boost part is fine for anyone) just to get the preorder code. Which will definitely not work with an existing NA account, only a European one. On the other hand, entering on behalf of someone else who doesn't have an account while you do is fine, so long as they're not entering for themselves. Also, there are quite clear instructions on how to enter through the link in my first post. Anything less than what they say to do counts for nothing. I don't care if that means making a Tumblr just to do that one thing, the point is to keep it fair to those who've already entered. I think that's everything that needs clarification? :blush:

Yes, holy crap I finally did one of these. No reason I didn't before, just no reason it felt necessary before? Anyway, I guess I'm getting the itch to find an RP Linkshell for Rhostel, maybe even a Free Company? The thing is, Rhos is (intentionally) a rootless, wandering do-gooder adventurer with no real long term goals or baggage. She could fit seamlessly into any number of LSes, and would happily join most if not all if asked. Thing is, she's got no particular drive to seek out any group to join them for her own reasons. Truth is, she's a little bit broken by events a handful of years ago, and her ego has basically evaporated. She doesn't have reason for much anything, and just does whatever is in front of her until it's too hard and she wanders off to find a new thing. Soooooo ...I don't know. There's a lot of Linkshells that seem like they'd be a good fit for her, but none that stand out as especially suited to her. Given how she is, I'm not sure any such group can exist. (Even an Ala Mhigo liberation movement, if it existed, might not be any stronger a candidate than others.) My plan right now is 'make friends, fall into something' but that's always my plan and it has a 30% success rate if I'm being generous. Input is very welcome. EDIT: Okay, I maybe have a plan now for an FC, but it's OOC. So yeah. RP Linkshell still of interest.

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium? I love to roleplay, but I'm too shy to do it all the time. Views on RP combat and injuries: *shrug* It's something I've so rarely faced, I don't have any strong feelings. There's no pattern to it, my characters just rarely end up in fights against other player characters. When they do, I'm pretty easygoing, so long as the other person isn't abusing my trust. Views on IC romance: Light and fluffy is fine, or old married couple dynamics. Not interested in anything intense. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Sure, that's fine. I think my character wikis have some potential seeds for those who might be interested. Views on lore: I like to stick to it very closely. I like others to give it due deference, but allow them significantly more slack than I do myself. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say should be in character by default, but special circumstances are fine. I'm more forgiving than some about using ((certain punctuation)) to hold entire OOC conversations in public, but only up to the point where it gets insipid. Linkshells should be used however the owner declares. Most other channels, apart from /em, should just default to OOC because anything else is going to be a headache. III. I really hope this works out for you. As long as people are confessing, I'm not really cis- nor fully trans-. Actually, I've never really been able to nail down a gender identity I feel comfortable with. I'm aware of the various other options people have determined, but I feel like I fall outside all of them. Admittedly, the main reason I don't feel genderfluid is that I'm too apathetic to act on any such impulse.

Rhostel's father made a steel hairpin when she was born, decorated with Azeyma's sigil in honour of her birth month. She rarely wears it, keeping it stowed in her chocobo's saddlebags, but it's the only thing of purely sentimental value she takes everywhere she goes. Nahctgeim always has a stack* of various Eorzean newspapers sitting on her desk. Gotta keep up with the tides and turns to know what and how to profit! *Counts as one thing, because it's not the same effect with just one paper.

If I give away the preorder code, it'll be with the game code. I'd rather they get everything I can give them. I mean, unless no one actually enters for the game code. That still appears to be a possibility. Also, I have extended the deadline by 36 hours. I think I'll try some other avenue if I can't give away the game by then.

Not my existing account! I preordered the physical Collector's Edition (PC) for all the shiny physical goods. The game code might have been for M'lady's use, but she's decided against it. So, now I'm trying to give it away on Tumblr along with the authenticator (and possibly the preorder code). Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to have gained much attention, so I'm hoping some of you might know people who want to play but can't afford to yet, or something, or just be able to spread the word. Ignore the deadline, I'm going to extend it. Just originally wanted it to end with a significant amount of time before early access because I thought there'd be more interest.

This whole issue makes no sense to me at all. There are no legitimate concerns that could possibly prompt this. I might as well call for art threads to only be allowed to be posted in by the OP, because it hurts a bit to see pictures displaying less technical skill to some of mine get way more praise, or how disappointing it is to see threads from people whose art I adore get bumped only to find it's some random compliment and not new art I could drool over. Fortunately, I'm not so thin-skinned or petty. I know it's much better for everyone that if people want to comment, they can do so freely. That includes me, because every bit of happiness and enthusiasm that part of the forums generates makes this community stronger. And the utterly priceless value of the compliments I do get. Yeah, this is going to be inflammatory to whoever made those complaints. That's the point. Everyone needs a dose of perspective and self-reflection once in a while, because letting your own feelings become more important than a community is the surest way to kill that community. And I'm willing to risk burning bridges personally if it might help the community in the long run.

You mean right in the middle of reconstruction? That sounds like the perfect time to set up business. There'd be an immense demand for highly skilled metalworkers of all kinds, with contracts for items needed for military, bureaucratic, mercantile and personal use flying all over. Oh, Nel! One of my characters owns a small merchant fleet that specialises in shipping metals and metalwork goods. If you need a supplier/distributor, that is. :bouncy:
