Badguys are inherantly antagonistic. Which means they're also inherantly disruptive to RP Which means they're not a lot of fun to play outside of the GM/ST position. Which means they're disposable and are inherently a mayfly position. No one here is playing a real Badguy if they're attached to their char. The best you can muster is morally grey. Anything more means you're either being a jerkwad or you're running a story for other people. One is alright. The other means you should probably stop RPing

I build entire playlists around concepts. Short/serial stories tend to have a single song set to them. Hammer runs caravaneering investments. Sometimes he's hands off, sometimes he's forcefully hands on with his work. Which means he's often wherever he needs to be at a given time, or en route and purposefully unavailable to the public at large.

Its all networking, I find (OOCly, that is). I can only speak for myself, but the deeper sort of RP only came for me after I shopped my character around, found an FC/LS, and all that. It was definitely a bit draining and less fun than actual RP, but actually getting RP hooks via RP is pure luck and circumstance. Not to say that it doesn't happen, of course! Do you have an objective for the character as the writer? Like a personal arc or something you want Hammer to explore? If so, you can literally PM people you think fits in there and perhaps get something going. Or offer up Hammer to be involved in others' plots. There's also FCs and all that; I'd speak of my own FC but recruitment is actually closed right now since we recently had an influx of new members to assimilate (but definitely look up Aeon in the future :V). Anywho, that's what I did and it works for me. Results may vary. (Also, Bynn the Breaker is my favorite song on the Bastion soundtrack <3) (Bastion Tracks are the Best) Hammer exists as a ride along right now. He's here to get into other people's stories. That's a purposeful brake on my part. I'm new here. I need to get involved. I need to get involved in other people's stuff. There's longer reaching arc stuff but A) It's designed to be A Long Game type of thing and B) It Can Wait because I am a Newb here. It'll get done when it gets done, or it might never see the light of day. Depends on who Hammer meets and why. So yes: I'd love to get into other people's stories. I have no idea how FCs work in regard to getting into things. I've never seen a "guild" system work like this on an RP server before, so I'm kind of curious how one helps work as an axis for Stories.

That's too black and white for what happened in that thread. The thread was a pointed example of "Oh, yeah, ok, we should change things". Not "OBEY." However it was also a good example of why you need the Obey marker on the board, somewhere, clearly spelled out. Because us nerds are The Wurst when it comes to getting into "White man plays devil's advocate in issue that doesn't affect them in any way shape or form" arguments for the dicking of it. It's a major note seen over and over again in any RP/Game community. It's why the mods are more than a good idea, they're a requirement. It also means some people are going to crybitch about it. It is literally a battle you should not be approaching as something you need to "win", like I said. Consistency mixed with critical acceptance works. You know. That's a good question. Most of my RP experiance so far has been walk ups. Which are great! Which are fun! But I have no idea how to get a hook into the community at large for more madness, mayhem, and the concessional cup of srs talk tea. I want to up my game and my enjoyment of the game. So I'm looking for advice. I'm looking for FCs. I'm looking for linkshells and connections. I'm auditioning here, I have no idea if I'm a good fit. But there's only one way to find out. +w+ Ask your questions. I might even answer them.

And this is where it stops being a discussion. This is where you are being the asshole. This is where you need to back down and consider discussion for the sake of understanding a point instead of winning. No one's going to win here.

Hammersmith is a custom built puzzle box that no one in their right mind wants to open and that has no intention of giving instructions, hints, or help. He keeps his head, his mouth, and his secrets locked tight. Paired with a lethal approach to honesty he's a Kool Aide man of sorts, often crashing into, through, and out of, situations with little regard for the wall/person/problem that got in his way or the consequences that come after the wall falls down. Banned? No. Warned? Yes. I think the current revamp of the rule is really the best approach to it. As for the "Well fuck it", that's a non-sequitor example. The same sort of logic applies to "I'm going to die anyway, why not murder a baby? Fuck it yolo." We're dealing within the bounds of reason. If we're dealing with crazies, or in this case a terminal troll, they're not going to be bound by what we're discussing in the first place so there's no point in accounting for them other than "They're going to run into an admin, fuck THEM." I think warnings work. We've already seen people check themselves before wrecking themselves, with the one hiccup so far being the one area that had too much non-defined application. I think warnings work. I don't think "Well if crazy people do it why should we have rules at all" is good counter logic against them.

Also this is a flat "I want free reign to do whatever I want on other people's time and resources regardless of their interest" which infringes on the purpose and place of a private community with a given purpose. It's incredibly arrogant and self centered. You probably need to reexamine why you're here in the first place.

They don't belong in a discussion topic. They're, as already stated, a blatent derail of purpose anywhere except threads where it's acknowledged that the point is to not have a point. Otherwise it's widescale sad-pepe memes and reaction gifs instead of words with actual meaning as far as the eye can see.
