Ok it's settled thanks to all of your suggestions and tips. We decided on a simple choice of Zach finnaly showing corurption from Zordiark and that the Au Ra transformation was signs of him being touched by darkness / voidsent. OR wel levnetually will * porbbaly over a 3 month progression.

Well, here's the thing: like K'nahli said, you're running what I'm assuming to be a fairly closed session, so I would not worry about lore adherence that much, as long as the other people you RP with are okay with it. Make something that's plausible to them because at the end it's their opinions and perceptions that matter. And if you're RPing as WoL or being associated with WoL? Hell, you just opened up lots of options there. Being cursed? Works. Magical transformation? Go for it. An alchemy experiment gone wrong? Why not. Maybe an Au Ra is his true form that can only be unlocked by a medallion. Get inventive. Sky's the limit. The RP is open but we have like a 'Narrator' Rule guy who makes sure noone tries to commendear or make the story boring. We get roles once we join and can drop at free will. Its a pretty fun system. Also he's a guildmaster who's in charge of 4 WoL so yeah

Hmm. Well after a good 2 hour debate and 3 visits to the wolves den. Its came down to 1,3, and pulling a DMC like Spiritual Said. Honestly I kind of want to keep Zach currently and have enough trouble maintaining him and the other 7 alts I have on the server. Which brings me to these questions. As well as coming along to see if there are any materials or items he can sell later. Do what you want, but be prepared for XIV to retcon you. Consider this: None of the Primals in the game currently share backstory with any other instance of the same name in any Final Fantasy game, ever. The small exception could be made for Ramuh, who is always written as a Judge-like character, but his role in XIV is specifically to protect the Twelveswood (a place that doesn't exist in other games). You're hedging huge parts of your already-immense backstory on the fact that this one guy will resemble his XII counterpart. Hmm true... Iguess i got caught up in the notiondue to the lore also tying in previous games thanks various easy plot devices *the allhgan empire being respoinble for FF3 etc. There's not a thing wrong with this! It's just "risky" because we know we're going to see more of Zodiark in the future. If your interpretation is wrong, then you're kind of hosed. Makes me wonder, though: Zodiark is only now ascendant in the storyline, culminating in the reveal at the end of the 2.0 main story. How strong would it have been during Carteneau, when the power of the Twelve was on full-blast? OH! OH! Me and ony of my friends discussed this. If the mother crystal was blessing her champions what if Zardiark was strengthening his own? Or at least atempting to lure/corrupt those to his cause. It woldnt be canon ,but it'd be an aspect that might pop up later in the story. EDIT: also the twleve powers were focused on the Elder Primal Bahamut so there was a chance Zar-Zar could slipp through the Keeper's Cracks

Lots of great info for first time roleplayers: Roleplay Guide If this is your first time roleplaying on an MMO, there's a few common pratfalls to watch out for. The first is what everyone else has already been talking about, disconnecting your accomplishments as the 'main character' and creating a more dedicated version to roleplay as. By dedicated, I mean specialized. A good character shouldn't be the end all be all champion of an MMO, but a flawed individual who's background and skills should give opportunity for others to comment, work with and create conflict with. Out of all the jobs and classes your character has done, which stands out as the one that represents your character the best? Is your character proficient with melee skills? Which one? Does your character prefer magic? How do they specialize? Is your character a crafter? Which craft have they mastered? Generally it's alright to have a handful of hobbies, but true skill only comes around after long periods of training. Rule of thumb is one class to master, or better yet, one class you are in the process of mastering. Character growth is an important, probably the most important, part of RP. Don't jump the gun to master, you're only taking away quality RP. Be careful with naming conventions and origins. At the moment, Au Ra are all foreign until more lore comes out about them. The ones that we know about are all Doman so have feudal Japanese type names. Also be careful about making them extravagantly successful. There's no problem with having a rich character (Especially with the ongoing conflict in Ul'dah), but this should be a flaw as well as a strength. Having wealth makes you a target and a potential victim. It also lets you wield influence and power against the lower classes. If you do wish to keep their business success, be prepared for conflict in one way or another. But my biggest suggestion is to go into RP with an open mind. Your other players are your equals, they are here for the same reason you are. They aren't competition or rivals, even though their characters might be. Talk with them, learn from them and grow with them. At the end of the day despite the conflicts we have over lore, character struggles or rivalries we are a community trying to foster RP growth. thanks and i definatly want to get along with everyone the basic of which i base characters i make is research o nachiebale means by humans and other characters.
