Hey Floria! I know I've talked to you before, but I don't think we've RP'd yet. (Probably because I've been waiting for the Au Ra to come out. And now that they have, woo hoo!) Nalli is somewhat of an oddball herself as a Xaela - being secluded and all from her tribe a short time after her birth. (While she does know of her people, the amount of what she has retained is little to none.) With Koi, I feel like Nalli would find her an interesting person to say the least. But perhaps she may get a little annoyed. Haha. Tukiko, hmm... I feel like it might be easier for the two to run into more often. Nalli does travel a lot - making for easier places to meet up in regardless of where they are. While Nalli already has a travelling companion herself, I'm sure she wouldn't mind trying to make her feel more comfortable in Eorzea when and if they do meet up. (And considering Nalli knows how it is to grow up in Coerthas' caverns, she knows that feeling all too well.) Hope to hear from you soon! <3

The Great Crash of '15 - Gripes and Rants Are Going Heavensward
Blythe replied to Nero's topic in FFXIV Discussion
All the 90ks. When your whole mumble server has a collective 'NOOOO', it makes it funny even though everyone is sad. -
Once I get back online, I would definitely love to RP with you!

The Great Crash of '15 - Gripes and Rants Are Going Heavensward
Blythe replied to Nero's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I just need to use my fantasia... Even if I can't play for long, can I just use it please? -
I'll be taking a step in Ishgard, taking a large (virtual) whiff of the air, and just go 'fkjlsafdaf this is beautiful *drools*'. Also, I will be turning into my Au Ra first and foremost before I even try to get into Ishgard.

I'm not exactly sure how mixed parentage would work within this since I would figure that tribes intermingle at a point. Paternally, the Kha. Maternally, the Arulaq. For simplicity sake, I would put her down under the Arulaq (as she herself has been in Coerthas' mountain range secluded from other au ra). Nalli Blythe, the name she gives to every one. Naiman Kha-Arulaq (or Arulaq-Kha.... But I personally like it ending with a q) EDIT: OKAY. That was a lot of extra code....

Nnnnngghh, these are wonderdul. But it sucks because I don't know which tribe Nalli would have belonged to before her surname went into cultural assimilation in Eorzea.

Here's one of my last screens before my race change to the Au Ra with Skar on Friday. See you in Ishgard!

Another doll thread? Another doll thread!
Blythe replied to PkThunda's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I just did one with the Xaelas of mine and my partners. I think they came out well. Granted I tried how I could because of the dang hair for mine - the female one... And the turtle is supposed to be the emerald carbuncle. -
Nalli meeting every new Au Ra she meets. (Because literally when you only know three others of your race, any new people look awesome.)
-
I'm glad they put something up for this. A lot of my FC and LS's were wondering what they were going to do. Thanks for the heads up! : D

Would you mind adding me at: theoriginalpocky. Yes, that name has been something I've used forever. GaiaOnline, man. Makes me feel old.

So you want to make a character on Balmung?
Blythe replied to Winters Knight's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Along with everyone else, I agree with a lot of their suggestion. And with that, I will add on one more suggestion for you all. While this is probably the most stressful, yet oh so satisfying way of creating a character on Balmung, there's always that minute or two BEFORE maintenance in which the servers will open barely since everyone is logging off. I would definitely make sure you already have your looks saved since it's a race against the clock to create before the servers shut down. In no way do I recommend creating your character this way. But if you are unable to get on very early or cannot afford a world transfer, it'll probably be the best bet after those two options. (I'm not going to lie. I waited for the last second before maintenance started to get into Balmung... I know, I'm crazy.) -
Even though I am going to be maining an Au Ra, my hyur (that I am NPCing) currently would be slightly skeptical of this new race. Would she outright be hostile towards them? No, but considering all that's happened in last decade or so, she'd be wary what this new race is doing here. If they treat her good, she'll probably have a positive view of them. If they do her wrong, she'll have no problem getting on a step to punch one in the face. (And ultimately having to face the consequences by running away.)

Hello there, J! Welcome to the RPC and to FFXIV. Balmung's best time is usually around 7 AM EST (6 AM CST) if you are in the United States. It's kind of a wonky time, but it's usually your best bet. And don't worry. I actually am in your same predicament. Very used to forum RP and not so much in MMOs. But everyone here is very friendly and you shouldn't have any problems getting pulled into the RP here. : D

Bri officially dies on May 29th. She was meant to be a filler character when I made her as I had planned to go Au'ra unless lore and everything else made me frown (which it didn't.) She is going to be a machinist and loves to build things, especially things that explode. She is literally an egghead. She isn't big on group outtings as she would rather sit and watch people then converse with them; but that obviously won't stop her from getting up and inspecting something on someone's person as she tries her best to recreate normal motion in her machines (which never works out). She has a love for gunpowder/explosive powder and can (she is already ic and being rp'd ingame) found often at the Dubious Goods store trying to work in the Cat Cannon requested by Verad or out in the field field testing some of her powders. Blowing stuff up? Count my character in as watching things going BOOM! And it would be interesting to just see how my character would react to another Au Ra (considering how she's been slightly - okay more than slightly - distanced from her own race.) Maybe I'll sneak by sometime where she works. Hehe.

Au Ra naming conventions delayed + Aesthetician limbal ring adjustment
Blythe replied to allgivenover's topic in FFXIV News
This is something that is somewhat saddening. While I myself will more than likely not be changing my name, I know there are countless people that have been waiting on this. I understand where they are coming from to a point. *sigh* Let's just hope it comes before the 19th. -
Here I go. And you get a bonus of my least favorite dungeon too! \ o / Least Favorite (Worst): Stone Vigil NM - Don't get me wrong. As much I love the feel of Stone Vigil. I loved doing the first time I ran it. But my second run while I was still a low level 43 dragoon (my main then and now) made this dungeon unbearable and even now I only run it if it is on my Low Level Roulette as I level my White Mage. When you have a paladin that repeated does not use their shield oath, a healer that goes AFK every other pull, and summoner being the primary healer, this place became hell very quickly. On top of wiping on normal mobs in the place. *SIGH* I'm starting to like it again little by little after that horrid run, but meh, it still has a while. Now onto my favorites! 10. Hullbreaker Isle - All I am going to say is that...there are monkeys (or whatever they are called in the game). This made me giggle. Besides monkeys, the scenery in this dungeon in beautiful. Bosses are slightly interesting. All those geysers and jumping back and forth on the final one make it annoying and enjoyable at the same time. : P 9. Pharos Siris - The first time I got in here, I literally was just like 'coral looking stuff everywhere'. But once I actually figured out what was going on and didn't worry about the mobs so much, this place actually has really good architecture. Not going to like there. (Minus the stuff wanting to fall on you. No biggie, right?) Also, the final boss made me feel like I handed out some justice (considering the one quest you have where she shows up). 8. Brayflox HM - The illuminati, what more is there not to love about this dungeon. It was random, funny, and and overall pace that I found different from the other dungeons I was in. While it is not on the top of my list, I enjoy its 'story', in which a lot of the others don't. The dungeon itself was mediocre, which is probably why it doesn't rank higher. 7. Copperbell Mines HM - Considering you can run past half the mobs in this one makes this one rate high. And its super nice when doing my high level roulette. The one boss with the bombs is interesting to say the least. And as long as someone knows what to do on the bridge, there should be no big issue with this one. This definitely improved from it's NM. 6. Halatali HM - Sure, it's really linear. But it's 10x better than that NM version of it. (Both are still relatively easy.) But bears. Giant bears. If anything the only reason why I really, really like this dungeon is because of the dumb bears. : P 5. Sastasha HM - Like others have said before, pirates. (Also, some tentacles included.) Unlike the normal mode where you have those stupid, annoying calms at the beginning and Morgan running away all the time, this one felt much more cohesive and overall, felt very satisfying. 4. Ampador Keep HM - Granted I get this way too much on my Expert Roulette, the dungeon is great and fast, even if everyone is probably too overgeared for it when I run it. The part right after the boogeyman puts me on the edge of my seat with the DPS check. Sometimes, my group has screwed up and we don't make the DPS check. But anything with timers can put thrill into something you do a lot anyway. 3. Haukke Manor HM - The darker feel is what I enjoy in this dungeon. (Just like Ampador Keep, who knew!) When my FC mate told me to check out the actual final boss room of this place, it leads me to believe that lady is very into her pain (and maybe pleasure) devices. While I do like the NM of this dungeon, I definitely prefer HM over it. 2. Snowcloak - Snow, snow, and more snow. And snowballs. Snowballs being essential to killing one of the bosses. I have a very large love for snow as you can already tell. I think because of how pristine the dungeon looks, like nothing's really touched it. While the last boss can be a pain in the arse, this dungeon just makes me wanna get a pair of skates and find all the places of ice. (Okay, Shiva Thin Ice portion of her fight is the closest I can get most of the time.) This dungeon holds a special place in my heart. <3 1. Stone Vigil HM - Wait, how is this my favorite dungeon and Stone Vigil NM is my least?! Good point. Like I mentioned before, I love the feel of Stone Vigil, both of them. However, with HM, Stone Vigil feels more alive to me for some reason. Sure you had dragons you had to worry about. But in Hard Mode, people turning into dragons?! Yes please. Furthermore, the final boss having no real aggro table made it extremely fun because you never knew who was going to be targeted. And then add the second one, ohhhh yesss. And cannons. Don't forget the cannon fight! I thought these were more well done than the one fight in NM and it gave a different pace to dungeons that I hadn't seen. (Also, this helped a little bit with Steps of Faith before the nerf and somewhat after.) All this needed was a little bit more snow. *sigh*

Hello there and welcome to the FFXIV and the RPC. If you are looking for a time to get on Balmung, any time right after maintenance will give you a good window. (Or if you are a sucker for trying to see if you can get your character made in that minute before maintenance starts, there's that too.) Otherwise, weekdays around ~7/6 AM EST/CST are fairly good times to check for character creation on Balmung. I hope to see you around. n u n

I CAN TURN INTO FUCKING BAHAMUT! I DO NOT CARE! Really!? I missed that part I wanna be a SMN now. . . Yup, they went into a good minute or so of 'Dreadwyrm this and that'. While I'm still sad that there's no new Egi's (A shiva one would have been nice), I am not going to be complaining since they are fixing some of the summoner skills. I also enjoyed hearing that there was debate on new egis though. There were some people pushing for them and others weren't. If there wasn't any debate about it and they just said no more egi's, I'd be a bit more peeved.

The job preview so far is making me really happy. c: I am ready for this second half!

Today, I met a lot of people at the convention I am go to each year here where I live. And we all had the largest, nerdiest babble about the game, storyline, and some lore. The best part was seeing someone dressed up as Hildebrand. Found out the person was from Balmung! And he did do the manderville. Then at another panel, me and another girl did the mand erville. Some others almost joined, but she and I called each other awesome and it was a great time all around. Also, got to meet the English VA for Gaius today. that was pretty darn cool
