I'm in love with female style 23! :love: It also looks like female 16 has overtaken 21 right now, too. I'd much prefer to see 16 over 21 in-game (even though I doubt I would use either) so I hope it stays that way! I will mourn for you until the end of days female 23. :cry: (Also I too would like a few more short & simple cuts for the males!)

I think the server locks are due to how many people are logged in at any one time. Which is awkward, as I think a lot of people stay logged in with the afk tab while they sleep. @_@' I've never seen Balmung locked for so long. The recent release of 2.4 is likely the cause, as it's the first weekend post-patch. Still, for a server to be locked all around the clock is pretty crazy. It wasn't this severe at launch, there were still slots you could sneak in! Fingers crossed it opens up for a brief spell for you to nab a character. I'm trying to get a new character made as well, have been for the past two days! :frustrated:

Yeah, what Kaoru said! Sorry if I wasn't clear. It's how the game handles internet connections, basically. Tweaking graphics and such won't 'fix' it. The only 'fix' is a faster/more reliable internet connection, as far as I'm aware. It'll probably get better when the servers calm down and there isn't hundreds of people running around in each zone causing so much data to go back and forth, though! At least that's my hope.

I think this is just a result of latency. You could see something similar in XI if your connection was quite bad, and it just seems to be how SE handles it. Instead of seeing others teleport due to bad latency, in XIV they just seem to stop and then when it catches up the server shows them running at a crazy speed. As I'm playing from China on the NA servers, on a bad day all I see is this to extreme lengths. On a good day it's there but only slightly, so I don't really notice it. I have no idea how you can go about fixing it, though.

I found this from the Square Enix Support site. So unfortunately if you paid before January 2012 I don't think they counted towards Legacy status. Fingers crossed everything goes super smooth from Tuesday though, so you can get in without issue and get everything to work right away! I believe Legacy status was only available if you paid for three months after the F2P period. It was the reward for people supporting them after they began charging for the game once again. So I don't think you're actually classed as Legacy, I'm afraid. Every 1.0 character gets the tattoo, though! So that's why you have that.

Garuda's theme is absolutely stunning. And she looks terrifying. I'm very excited for that fight. I was watching the Titan fight earlier and I see myself panicking so much during that fight with that soundtrack. I have a feeling Alexis will get knocked off the platform a few times before I get the hang of it. >_>

Oh! No, no. I know! I more meant that as the overall storyline for PvP when it's introduced. As of right now there's small team based PvP already in the game, but at one point I think SE mentioned they were planning a larger scale zone based PvP thing between the three Companies? I may be mistaken here, though. I was more wondering out loud how SE will approach that in their story. Alexis won't be seen there IC for a while!

I'm waiting to see how Square Enix deal with frontlines, really. With the overall storyline being the 3 City States coming together, I can't see them having a reason to fight each other out there. I'm thinking maybe it's a huge training exercise between the three Companies to try and encourage friendly competition. "Nothing like a good old spar to build comra- is that a Meteor?" ...Yeah. Maybe I'll just wait and see what reason is shown in game when it makes its way in. :blush:

Haha wow. I just read through this! It's such a great read and the pictures add a lot to it! The beach resort place looks so good on your computer, it seems! This has made me so sad. I didn't play 1.0 so I didn't get to witness the story. This write up has made it sound amazing. I feel as though I've missed so much from reading this! Oh well. Yep! It made perfect sense. Thanks, it's something I'm definitely going to try out for myself. As for the latter point, I'm the same! Though in a way I guess that's a good thing. While I enjoy reading a character's history, I like my character getting to know people ICly. So finding out a history IC is something I enjoy, too!

That solution is one I find really interesting, Uther! I think I'll give that a go sometime. I found your entire answer interesting, really. Especially the "no one cares" bit! I'll agree with that. The reason I develop a detailed backstory at all is for myself so I can get into the mind of my character. I'm fairly sure no one else ever reads it! Saying that I find myself browsing random wikis when I have nothing busy going on at work, so there is that! But again, that's like maybe one a day, at that. (And while on this topic, I really enjoyed Uther's wiki and his history! The family history angle you did was an interesting read.) How do you go about writing for your character after FFXIV, though? I know you have an idea for where you want your character to go, so you just use that? I'm the opposite to you in that regard! I plan a detailed backstory but leave the future of my character open to see what happens throughout RP. I always find it interesting how people take different approaches! I think I'll give writing for Alexis after FFXIV a go. See how I do with it! Edit: I'm terrible with spoiler tags AND quote tags, it seems.
