  1. The emote literally consisted of this: Anthony Valron frowned at the traveler, an expression of annoyance spreading over his face as he awaited his business meeting.
  2. Get me in on this. Anthony would love to rig fights, bribe people to take falls. Mm. Money.
  3. "Excuse me, but I know a great deal more about Ishgardian Lore than you, so I would highly appreciate you take your condescending, superior attitude and shove it up your ass. ))" was my final reply before blacklisting them. I was a bit mad.
  4. Yeah, I mean, I don't normally bring things up or post anything like this but what the heck? this was just insane and I'm so lost and confused. e: also hi v'aleera
  5. THIS! I thought I was abiding in lore by doing such a thing because lol, my character is a noble!
  6. I was just absolutely in shock that 2 lines of my character being annoyed someone else was at the meeting he had planned could result in 1000+ characters of hate whispers.
  7. Well, there was an Ishgardian Lore thread that had some interested sayings used in Ishgard by NPCs. "Pure as peridot" was one. I love that one.
  8. I'm coming here because today, while RPing in Camp Dragonhead, I had a bad experience with someone complaining to me OOCly in a very wordy, condescending manner that my Ishgardian nobleman gave their character a look of annoyance that they were in the same building as him. "[in a public place like Dragonhead too. I'm sorry, it's very much clashing against the established lore. You own this building and such ? The rule isn't being broken, you're just overstepping the boundaries and performing an action without knowing the background of whom you're interacting with. Please, check again.]" Now, I pretty much lost it at this point. I was confused, immensely! I didn't say a word about what they could, or shouldn't do. My character simply glanced at someone else's with annoyance. Did I do something wrong? Is there a Balmung code of "don't look at people"? I'm actually upset by this because I've never, in 5 years of MMO RP, had this happen over a simple glance RPed by two lines of text. e: there were several more whispers after, that insulted my intelligence and my lore-knowledge as well as said that I should pay attention to 'real RPers'.
  9. Apparently, I can't type at all today; Let's leave it with this.
  10. Welcome! Remember to always have protection at the Quicksand. ...not that kind. There's dangerous people out there!
  11. Trapped on Gilgamesh? i'm so, so sorry.
  12. I like the concept of your Highlander! Anthony here runs a highly-reputed mercenary company - more like a private military contractor than a common group of street thugs writ large. Now, he's young and idealistic as all get out, but his second in command is a jaded ex-Knight with a hero complex. She might do well to talk to Deianera! If you're both up to it, I'd love to get you into our RP group should you be a fit. We're a linkshell, rather than a Free Company because it offers the most flexibility for our players. We're still just starting out, as well, so there's not much event-wise yet! Feel free to contact me ingame for more info, or on skype. Skype: Neversurrenderwra Look forwards to hopefully speaking with you!
  13. Noble to noble, we should get some RP going! That said, Anthony despises Ul'dah and it's oppressive heat. And the sand. The sand gets everywhere. Feel free to contact me ingame, or on skype or here, or whatever rp with me pls Edit for more info: Anthony is Ishgardian by birth and by choice; the young Lord *(17)* is the Captain of Halone's Spear, a famed mercenary company known for being elite. House Valron in general is very much tied into the Spear, as they founded it hundreds of years prior. He's brash, arrogant, and doesn't take well to people insulting his age. He's accomplished a lot, but he is by no means world-wise, not in the same ways as an older man would be. He still has naivete and is highly idealistic.
  14. Hi, friend. I am seeking RP friends, just like you. The same feeling you have is the one I've had since I came here, originally to Gilgamesh and now to Balmung. So! Please feel free to contact me IG on Anthony Valron or C'adrien Nunh, or on Skype: Neversurrenderwra. I just want to roleplay. pls.
  15. Hey Anthony! I've recently been in the lab brewing up a multi-event story arc for our group of Dragoons which I am hoping to get started soon. ICly they would be all for hiring on a few extra spears/hands to help out with getting this stuff done, I will hit you up IG today and fill you in. Excellent. I'll be here!
  16. We are still looking for IC mercenary work. Want a bodyguard or two? Want someone killed? Got a caravan being moved? Hit up Anthony Valron or Addison Hines ingame! We'll figure it all out. ))
  17. You know exactly where to reach me. Right now, there are 4 (or 5 Idr) players involved.
  18. That part's kinda iffy if you're dealing with other player characters, which is what I'd assume you're talking about with guard duty. More on-topic, I like the PMC-ish kind of approach rather than the ragtag bunch of misfits angle that I see most mercenary groups take. While I -do- see your point about character strength, the second part of your statement also helps to answer it. That said, I cannot, and will not tell anyone to recognize any specific strength in RP. I do, however, put it in there as a statement of experience, training and quality. Most fighters aren't... quite equipped to handle this level of combatant. The people who are part of the Spear are military veterans, with professional training and years of experience. They're also trained in small unit tactics - as I said, people can choose to acknowledge our strength or not ICly! I'm not gonna tell you how to RP, merely wish that we should be treated this way. "Imagine a modern day PMC merged with the reputation of the Golden Company from Game of Thrones." is how I like to envision this group. Ex Army Rangers, ex tier 1 Special Forces operators, etc. They come because they get paid the best for their considerable skill-set.
  19. It depends how much she's willing to pay. She likely will be able to get one or two of the Spear by her side, but they're... very, very expensive. They're also very good. Like, the best. Only the highest tier of fighters will be able to beat them in even a 2 on 1 situation. I'm online right now!
  20. Purely OOC post: Are you looking for some well-trained ex-soldiers to come escort you? Hang out at your bar? Be a bodyguard during an event? Please, please, please contact me. I would love to bring my company to yours, to meet with others and to roleplay an actual mercenary CONTRACT. I find that no one does that. I can rarely find mercenaries who are actually bound by service to another!
