Ever since I was able to buy my own 115 set on the Dragoon class I don't even play anymore, people have done nothing but buy me stuff. I already have two debts I'll probably never be able to repay and there will come a point where I will tire of being a beggar.

I'm hoping to RP in any capacity, so poke me ingame, one warrior to another. (Though of a very different sort).

Because Ishgard is kicking my ass two ways from Sunday, I've taken to farming poetics for all the ilevel 120's possible. However so far my weapon has been left in the dust and I can't make gil to save my life to buy the 115 one from the market. I can get the poetics necessary (~650 to exchange for the tokens) but the Encrypted Tomestone is a bit of a hurdle. Apparently there's only two sources to getting one. Is there anywhere else that the wiki doesn't mention?

Maybe you could be like... "I dare you to open..." ... (I hate myself)

Differences and similarities between you and your character
Kiur replied to 13uddy's topic in Fun Prompts
While is true I put a bit of my soul into every character I make... Kiur and I couldn't really be more different. She has neurological damage, I don't (Would I know if I did? OHOHOHO). She can fight, I can't. We're both gay, though. So I guess there's that. -
I had to drop 18$ to get Kiur there. And now I have two characters in-waiting.

I still don't know what Linkshells are, myself. Someone sent me a PM trying to explain it but I still don't quite get it. (Are they custom ingame channels? Some external chat program like mibbit?) Anyway, welcome. I'm new to this community myself and have played the game for a little over a month. I like your name. Reminds me some kind of hostile alien race like the Skaarj from Unreal or the Dredge from Defiance.

Kiur's concept as a character has a built-in level of paranoia. Her WoW version is very powerful but her FFXIV version has been devolved, so she has even MORE reason to wear her heavy armor all the time considering she's far more mortal now than ever. That, and her rewritten history has had her beaten, maimed, and gnawed on by a Drake so these days, she decks herself head to toe in plated armor. I find some level of pride in this.

I submit my info on the... survey thing. Probably not the most ideal candidate but hopefully you can fit me in a rotation at some point.

I'm a part-time cashier. The job itself is fine (If painful to my legs and feet) but I do get tired of the... people.

I can generally only play one MMO at a time but I'm big into WoW usually. Just taking a vacation here. I also have GW2 installed which I enjoy RPing on but can't really stand to level there anymore. Otherwise I've played most MMO's that you'd care to name. From ten minutes (TERA was a huge menuspam that made me nope.gif to the uninstallation menu) to several thousand hours (World of Warcraft).

What future game releases are you most looking forward to?
Kiur replied to Dravus's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I really want Fallout 4 but fear my system won't be able to handle it. -
Kiur would be one of those scientists or researchers that corporations wouldn't attach too much paperwork on. I've been catching up with House lately and I watched this one episode where a cancer researcher used babies to study its effects. Killed a few, saved thousands, and wrote a book about the whole thing. In House's universe, the doctor was very prestigious but his use of infants was found and the episode tested everyone's reactions. Kiur would be -that- kind of scientist.

Can't really vote, not yet. Kiur is a "reset" version of a character I've had on WoW for a long time. I've had to press a major mental reset button for her concept and development so now she's just a wandering madwoman (again). I leveled as a Dragoon but have unlocked Dark Knight. The DRK's abilities fit her aesthetic considering she is a blood mage/necromancer (Shhh, don't tell anyone) so the blood spikes from our favorite add-grabber "Unleash" certainly suits her IC skillset. But their lore doesn't fit her too much in her current mental state. Eventually she's just going to have to evolve into one or two of the mechanical "jobs". She might even become an 'official' Dark Knight. It really depends on where RP takes her.

We all know our characters don't go into sudden comas when we log off. We leave for work and sleep, and realistically, our characters go do the same thing. What is your character doing when their maker is out buying groceries? Full excerpts are lovely. Seeing single sentences makes my teeth itch.

Kiur generally collects stuffed animals and various plushes. She tends to have a squeaky toy beneath her helmet (When she wears one). Not quite the same thing as pets but she certainly treats them like such. Names and all.

I think this might be like, the exact opposite of my own Welcome Desk thread.

Not everything she says is "random humor", though. Most of the time she's actually trying to say something but her brain is incapable of forming the proper words for it. On WoW, she could never say the words "Priests" or "Paladins". She always called them "Burnies" or "Shinies" because her brain associated Light/Holy magic with pain and, well, shininess. I'll be bringing some of that to her FFXIV version.

Kiur is an absolute joy to roleplay. I model her speech patterns from the Malkavians in the World of Darkness setting with a bit of Psycho-speak from Borderlands thrown in. Half her speech can be understood, the other half consists of "FOR SCIENCE" and "I AM AN ADORABLE MUD PIE." OOCly, everybody so far has absolutely enjoyed interacting with her. Unless they think I'm a troll-RPer. On WoW, some characters never responded to her. I suspect they thought I was trying to interrupt stuff when Kiur is just crazy-cute. And that's why I don't tavern RP.

Normally I like to post "Greetings, Mortals" as my intro to add a bit of humor but the whole "Greetings" things seems to be played out these days. Instead I went with my character's catchphrase. Not so much a catchphrase perhaps, but more of a word she is incapable of saying with an inside voice. Kiur Kenneth is a woman with some neurological damage after a bad run in with a mage who was trying to wipe Kiur's memories. (You can see her profile here) I'll post on the RP Connections thing later but that's the basic rundown. I came to FFXIV after my entire guild from WoW migrated to this game while I was off playing other stuff. After a good friend wore me down by lauding FFXIV's gameplay and community, I finally dropped the coin (Read: Nerdspeak for cash monies) and started playing. My impressions were lackluster, perhaps in due to a rather boring first choice for a first class. For about 80 hours straight I was doomed to the same two skills and event made a huge rant (Warning: Profane language) about it on my Tumblr. I am pleased to report that my impressions improved (Though it took 150 hours for it too, which is a very bad thing) when I stopped trying to concentrate on plowing through the FIVE content packs before Heavensward and unlocking DRK. I farmed poetics for a while for the Ironworks set (Which I adore). After some mindless questing I got DRK at long last and I am finally enjoying it. I partly enjoy the major xp boost due to class disparity from my level 52 Dragoon. I'm level 38 as of typing this out (I'll be getting back to the Coerthas fate questing shortly). After all this I fear I have alienated the guild I'm in due to my bouts of frustration with the game, and my personal level of snarkiness has not helped matters. Every other thing I say seems aggressive to the glead so when I get around to it, I'll be making an RP Connections post looking for a new, better fit for my character. Until then. Hello.

Because I can't seem to figure out how to edit the above post without screwing up the wierd bullet-list-format...thing. Here's my character; Appearance Kiur is usually garbed in a darkly appearance, usually outdated in design and smells of dirt and dust. Not that this is usually an unpleasant odor, it simply causes concern for those not familiar. That's not to say she's consistently dirty; Nay. She boasts a clean face with fair, yellow eyes. Her chosen vocation simply causes her to reek the way she does. She has strong facial features but usually carries a friendly smile. Her highly armored visage is a significant departure from her personality, however... Personality Kiur is an incredibly friendly woman, though plagued by an extremely eccentric manner of speaking. Within her flavor of madness, one can generally locate a vague sense of insight. She may lack a large portion of her memory due to past actions, but she holds a significant knowledge specific to her own interests, usually relevant to darker levels of magic that common adventurers would much rather avoid. Despite her eccentricity, she seems fairly well adjusted once newcomers get used to her odd mannerics, and she doesn't seem to be much of a threat without some level of provocation. History Not much is known as to Kiur's history, partially that of her own doing. Born to the single daughter of a pair of Ishgardian commoners, she always strayed away from her farming duties to read books. Not so much history, but she was enchanted with the increased use of technology. She never reached the capability of being an actual inventor of devices herself, but she did create a room that allowed for the automatic grinding of seeds. Her parents were skeptical of her choices on this matter, as they were content with their fare in life. They had walls that kept out the cold, food on their tables and clean sheets. Her father played the guitar and her mother was a poet - two things also instilled upon Kiur, giving her a musical edge. However the life of an adventurer enchanted her too much, though she wasn't much of a combatant herself. She followed a startup band across the country before being discovered. Having survived long enough to even do that (Easy enough considering the trail was full of bandit bodies she could just step over), they were impressed enough to give her some basic combat training - Mostly that of hand to hand combat which later evolved into firearm use, as any combatant can wield a firearm. She continued to follow this group, slowly devolving into mercenaries as they cleaved their way through open hirings. This led to a further interest in Kiur, taking bodies and performing experiments on them, using vcarious levels of technology to see how corpses would react. Kiur became increasingly unstable regarding her mental status, something many of her friends took notice of. Upon discovering a secret lab near their base, they destroyed her tech and burned her work. She was attacked by a Thaumaturge with a modified spell, attempting to "reset" Kiur's mind to a previous, more innocent state. Unfortunately this simply fragmented her mind, breaking her down even further and leading to memory loss. Abandoned by those she once called friends, Kiur wandered through the snowy wastelands in hopes to find some new goal to work towards. Her life took a more... interesting turn. On top of already suffering from memory loss and wanderlust, she was recently accosted by Ishgardian knights regarding an accursation. Dalyn Merk, one of her old mercenary band was captured for murder and thought it might be a good idea to give up a 'dark mage' in order to get a more lenient sentence. It didn't work, but Kiur became wanted for arrest questioning all the same. For some time she was a fugitive from Ishgardian law, no longer having the luxury of a bed or people to trust to take her in for the night. While fleeing from a drake, she took a severe leg injury and finally accosted and taken into custody. It was there she demanded a trial-by-combat, where she was barely victorious. Despite being innocent under law, she never shook her reputation and is often shunned by her fellow Ishgardian citizens.

I. Basic Info Characters: Kiur Kenneth Primary character: ^ Linkshells: I don't know what that is. Primary RP linkshell: ^ [*]II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium/Heavy preferred. Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm okay with general injury and usually prefer /rolls during combat rather than direct PvP. Since I'm a moderately new player (Over a month now), I don't exactly have PvP experience or gear so that would be an unfair edge. Views on IC romance: Kiur is incapable of flirtation (To an extent), but may respond to advances if the subject is compatible. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Kiur probably has two live parents somewhere, but they're commoners and wouldn't be found wearing 98% of things players could wear. Views on lore: I don't know a lot and I have given Kiur a pre-built level of memory loss to combat my own absences of knowledge. She once quipped (In the little RP I've been able to find) that she ate a dragon egg. The other character mentally emoted that this was unlikely considering Kiur would probably have turned into a dragon herself if that was the case. Kiur's insanity shows, and I learn something new. Win-win. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I still don't know what the hell linkshell is. I use /say for local, /em for general emotes. I will sometimes do a whisper if Kiur is nearby, and will offer local players a custom /em to denote that Kiur is, in fact, whispering to someone. [*] III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: EST Contact info:Steam: Zydrateacademy (Easiest way to get a hold of me but I don't like random adds. I always PM with a request with something like "Hello?" If I get no reply, reason, or source I will quickly remove and block the user). [*] [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
