I'm retiring my current character with the release of Endwalker and, more importantly, those sweet sweet man buns. I'm exploring the possibility for this new character to be a Sage. In order for this to work with the rest of the character's concept, this will require him to find someone who can train him, at least somewhat, to utilize the Nouliths. I'm wondering if there's anyone who's RPing a Sharlayan Scholar type character - especially one that intends to go Sage when the expansion launches - who might be willing to hook up for a few RP events around this training. I don't intend for this to go for an insane length of time, and there's really no reason to go super in-depth with the training. I just thought it would be more fun to walk through some of this with another RPer instead of just slapping into his backstory that he found a trainer and calling it a day. Let me know if you're interested! Thank you!

Hey folks, hoping I can get a reinvite to this. Took a break to focus on school, but things look like they're going to be much quieter this semester, so I'll be around a lot more! Character name is Kem'rel Brom I should be on all day. I just rolled through the admins list and didn't see anyone on, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to post here too Thanks! Love you!

Hello! Please put Rhu'to Brom on the waiting list! Thank you!

Wow... So ... Okay, a lot has changed... I'm excited!

Thank you very much! I'm not sure what that means, but thank you! -
I would very much appreciate an invite if at all possible! Character name is Rhu'to Brom! Thank you!

That'll do, thank you very much! Thank you for the welcome - and yes it is very possible that we interacted at some point! I was very involved in the community back in the day. I was helping try to organize a server-wide adventurer's guild to act as an IC way to have FC-transcendent RP events, advertise for FCs, provide context for personal RP, and have some giggles. It never panned out, but it was worth the risk of failure. -
Hey again, everyone. Long time no see. I played a lot back when ARR first came out... I played regularly for ... Maybe six months? Then I fell off the face of the planet... But I'm back and I want to get involved! My character's name is Rhu'to Brom (candidate for a name change now that it's possible) and I'll be in game most of the day if you'd like to say hi. There used to be a server-wide linkshell for RP (I'm on Balmung) but I'm not sure if that's still the case. If so, I'd love to get an invite! As for Brom, most of what can be found here: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Rhu%27to_Brom is still accurate. I'll update the parts that aren't later today. Thanks for reading!

So poll timers appear to be broken, so the wonderful Kylin closed this one for me ... Lo and behold ... It's a twelve-damned tie. Adriel and I will discuss what to do here... could be we need to open a second poll... :frustrated:
-
The poll is broken, it didn't end when it was supposed to end, so I can't see the results.
-
I'm pretty sure the poll was supposed to have ended by now... I think it might be broken :c
-
It's in the poll title, all times are EST
-
Thank you! I feel honored that you made this your first post Also, side note: Holy crap, how long did I set this poll for? I thought it was supposed to be over two days ago. Oh well, extra time means more votes.

Thank you all for coming out to the first Adventurer's Guild meeting yesterday! We've heard a lot of feedback from you guys about things that were done well and things that weren't done so well. One of the biggest gripes about the event was the timing, which, admittedly, was a crazy last-minute decision. I'd like to take this time to get your feedback about what days and times work best for you guys, as we'd like to have the meetings on the same day and at roughly the same time each week. For those of you who have no idea to what I'm referring, here is the original message: We're trying to make a weekly semi-story-driven RP hour (or so) where everyone can come and look for work, hand out work, enact storylines, find IC FCs, stuff like that. We haven't come up with a name yet, but we're basically taking the lore's idea of the Adventurer's Guild and turning it into a real thing. The idea is that we can give everyone a small storyline to work into their respective FC's or personal roleplay just to give people a goal or a purpose. The plan is also to make it an excellent starting point for people NEW to the RPC to meet new people and learn about the various FCs available for them to join. You can come advertise your FC to the new folks, put out job postings for those FCs that do that sort of thing. Additionally, we're planning on breaking up some of the more serious RP with events like chocobo races, etc. Adriel and I will be in charge of it, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask us. The main idea here is just to get everyone together and mingling and doing something together that has more of a purpose than slice-of-life roleplay.

I would love one! Please and thanks you!

What is you're favoite Final Fantasy Song?
Brom replied to Kellen whitewolf's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
This song was the best part of X-2, I happen to love it. -
Oh snap! This is a thing! I have legitimately no talent (and no desire to learn) when it comes to art, but I'd love to see some "fan" art of my character. (I put fan in quotes because my character doesn't exactly have fans.) Here is a whole imgur album of references! http://imgur.com/a/csAYW Name: Rhu'to Brom Race: Miqo'te Subspecies: Keeper of the Moon Class: Lancer (though he is ICly retired from most forms of combat) Age: Hyur equivalent of 28 years (Miqo'te years are iffy...) Height: On the taller side for Miqo'te, putting him at about... 5'6"? Weight/Build: He's pretty damned thin - not sickly thin - but more like often-forgets-to-eat-meals thin. His muscles are also pretty toned as well, he keeps himself pretty fit due to his line of work. Hair: Navy blue, medium-length, extending to 3/4 of the way down his neck and is naturally slicked back into a spike pattern in the back. He has a neatly trimmed beard- really the only thing on him that it appears he puts any effort into at all. Eyes: Bright vibrant amber. Personality: Extremely Intelligent, but often gruff, brooding, or generally melancholy. Brom is always looking to solve a puzzle, even when there's no puzzle to solve. He surrounds himself with mysteries and gets bored with them the moment they're no longer mysterious. Because he is so focused on his work, he's convinced himself that he has no time, or there is no point, in being polite to people - so he simply doesn't, unless it serves his own agenda. He is often too wrapped up in his own work to pay any attention to the people around him, though when he does, he can't keep himself from analyzing them. He is notoriously difficult to please. He hasn't been 'happy' in years. Hobbies: Because he constantly keeps his brain at work, in his time off, Brom has learned a multitude of instruments and a fair amount of languages, as well as various other random un-useful talents; for example, he can balance any two objects on one another just from a moment's inspection.

Hang on, how are you gonna stream a game that's not live and is still covered under NDA? Or did you mean you'd be streaming and that the TOPIC would be FFXIV?

I. Basic Info Characters: Rhu'to Brom Primary character:Rhu'to Brom Linkshells:Intermission Primary RP linkshell: Corvus Cinis II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Primarily heavy. Views on RP combat and injuries: If a roleplay fight is acted out well and creatively, I'm usually open for discussion as far as injuries go. If you prefer to fight with dicerolls dictating the actions, then we'll hash out what certain rolls mean ahead of time so we know what we're getting into going in. Views on IC romance: My characters are not an extension of myself. Sometimes they end up taking on lives of their own, and that includes falling in love. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I love it. I'd love to have someone my character was related to in some way who he could pester. Views on lore: I try to follow it as closely as I can, but there is so much lore out there and so much to remember that I'm bound to miss something. As such, I'm totally understanding of others missing things. Creativity and talent are more important than strict lore. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I... uh... I like them? And I use them? Generally I treat say and yell as IC, shout as OOC, and FC and Linkshell could go either way depending on that specific group's rules. I usually treat tells as OOC, unless whomever I'm roleplaying with does the opposite, in which case I will treat them ICly. III. Fine... FINE, you've convinced me. I'm in.

7/30 - Updated OOC info with charter, started setting up website so that it doesn't look like an uncustomized mess.

One last screenshot I took today of the group.

A special thanks to my three wonderful models, A'resha Khel, Kari Illderthane, and Yssen Van... Because I'm new here, I actually don't know their forum handles. Anyway, I watched them roleplay for a while and then asked them to pose for a screenshot or two to highlight their silliness...

I'm new to the game and I intend to roll on Balmung. I don't see why everyone is so turned off by legacy. It doesn't bring the image that you presented to my mind. But to each his own I suppose. Sure, but you're also HERE, you know? So you've been reading and you see what's going on, and you KNOW everyone is over on Balmung. I just feel like new players are gonna be turned off by the Legacy tag, I dunno. People are dumb, man.
-
I guess it's technically lucky that I only made it to 20 or so before the game was taken down... But my issue is... I don't really want to play on a legacy server.... Think about if you're a new player rolling for the first time, no experience with the game whatsoever.... You're more likely to avoid a server stamped with a huge LEGACY tag, right? I think the whole "this server is for legacy people" thing is so inconducive for bringing in new players... You're basically stuck with all the same people until transfers open at six months and then the legacy servers merge and close. I just don't know what I want to do
-
I can't speak for the others, but I know for me that it's a matter of familiarity at this point... We chose that server as our beta backup, we have a history with it now... Not to mention that, through playing on that server, I've already made quite a few friends through the last few months of beta testing. I've grown attached to it now. I'll still hop over to Balmung at launch, sure, but this gives me that much more reason to visit those chosen few friends over on G-mesh... Plus, I think we're all capable of being the bigger people here. I think we can ignore a few trolls.
