I keep seeing that 'soul crystals' tend to allow people to skip over things without much thought. It /doesn't/ work that way at all. Soul Crystals allow for people to learn the proper methods from those that carried it before hand but they still /HAVE/ to train in using the techniques. It's basically a giant book of knowledge just implanted in your mind. WAR/DK quests prove this viewpoint because you still HAD to train before you can even tap into the soul crystal. It is certainly not a get out of jail free card and it doesn't allow people to be the best of their class in a matter of just touching the rock.

I'm sure housing will get much better 4.x and beyond since they are now dropping the weakest link in the equation [PS3]. I remember Yoshi-P stating that PS3 has been holding them back when it came to more plots or such? I'll try to get a link since this is coming off the top of my head. EDIT: Just saw a reddit thread on this and someone said something that made sense. Basically the way the GM worded is that it's in a grey area, you won't get cracked down for doing it but if you get scammed then the GM support won't be there to assist. Following more of a mixed version between the old style of Thaumaturgy and the newer teachings he tends to keep his hands full, whether it's assisting the dead onto passing into Thal's realm or blasting down more direct threats. The darkness is his home and he seeks no fame nor glory for his actions. As long as he knows his sins are done for the better of the realm he is content - even if no one knows about them. He knows the ways of the old and tends to follow them even though he was trained by the newer mentorship making him an odd hybrid. Known him from the teachings? Look up to his style of Thaumaturgy? Maybe just want someone to learn from? Thaumaturges of Ul'dah are welcomed! Clients - As a member of the Order of Nald'thal he takes up client's and assists them in what they need. The profit he makes is split between himself and the Ossuary. Zombies making your life difficult? Need a burial done? Graverobbers waking up your dead uncle from his sleep? Have a will that needs to be followed? Even just assistance with the Aether. Merchants - Need a blessing of Nald done? Maybe need someone who sabotaged the flow of commerce to get a bit of a reminder? Black Mages - I'm a bit iffy on this. Emanuel wouldn't use his magic in public and certainly not with the same clothing he walks around in but we'll see. Others - Maybe you don't fill out one of these criteria? Doesn't matter anyways all walks of life are opened for RP! It will be neat to see the views of others and seeing how he will react to it.

I personally agree with the bolded part. I'm taking extra measure in making sure that being a THM is the main thing about the character and being a BLM is a side thing that people might run into if they are lucky or manage to find him in the act. He is doing the full duties of a THM that they usually have done back in 1.0 [Working with Funerals, taking care of the dead, giving blessings of Nald'thal to those that seek him out, etc] instead of focusing on the pure blasty blasty death part like the new leadership that he finds himself disagreeing with. 1.0 THM was all about sacrifice to gain something out of it, especially with the healing where they drained their own HP to heal others. My character was taught the 2.0 THM ways but is being drawn into the teachings of the 1.0 THM through older tomes but he will never be to the same level as someone who was actually training during the 1.0 days.

Anyone have information about BLM/THM losing body parts or getting rid of them to give them a boost of power/aethereal manipulation? I can't seem to find anything in 2.0 but I heard 1.0 touched upon this very subject in greater detail.
