  1. I love playing comic relief characters as well . I really hope that we can run into each other as two jokers are better than one! You suffer from the same FFXI nostalgia as I do and are going to be a Lallafell....you are just racking up the points aren't ya . You better watch your back, because I will be hunting you to RP with you at release.
  2. I really like the coloring. I need to make more money so I can just throw it at all the wonderful artist in this community.
  3. Please let this succeed. I am not sure how I can fit my character in there, but I would love to see someone pounced on my adorable Lallafells when they try to kill a rabbit or something.
  4. Always room for more FFXI veterans to share my constant nostalgic talk with! Welcome!
  5. Aaa, but if a rich man goes bankrupt he ceases to be rich. When a count goes poor, he's still a count. Ho ho ho. Good point. Edit: But wouldn't he still lose his title because it requires money to hold a position such as that? I could be wrong as I admit I am not an expert on all this hooty tooty rich people stuff
  6. Since you're playing a noble, can I ask you why you call it a "noble"? What you're describing is just a person who becomes rich and successful. Like I said in my previous post, simply being rich and successful would make you upper class to some degree. "Being a noble" is different in the lore. Noble - Belonging to a hereditary class with high social or political status; aristocratic Just have to be in a rich family. The richer you are, generally the higher your social status. The rich Lallafell who has owned a collection of mines for generations would probably be considered a noble. The character themselves do not have to be the ones to amass the wealth as their parents or grandparents could have been the one to do so. If your parents become rich its not like they wouldn't continue to share that wealth with you in an effort to keep the entire family line rich and..well..noble.
  7. Lallafell ladies...the cutest things in all of Eorzea? Where are they hiding!?!?!?!
  8. Ah, this thread makes me happy :moogle:. I am glad to see so many people understand how important conflict is to overall character development. I tend to play characters who lie, cheat, steal, and use deception to cause conflict (because life is full of conflict), but also give them comical traits so that people might actually want to be his/her friend. Its hard not to invest some of your OOC personality into your character, but as long as you keep the feelings of the two separate then you should be fine. I think the main reason real drama happens is because people forget to separate OOC and IC. If you find yourself getting upset IRL then just break the RP off. Screw immersion if it will save you a headache and possibly a friendship. At the end of the day, its just a game.

Domos from FFXI with the Fallen Soldiers LS? Edit: Ah! Nevermind. I think his name was Demos !! Anyway, welcome!
  10. There were too many options so I just gave up and settled for this.
  11. AHHH! Its EDC all over again...minus the boat. Well there could have been a boat there for all I know, too much stuff going on, haha.
  12. Exactly what I was going to say . I don't mind a character who might have skill in a few other talents. Such as a monk who might dabble a bit in white magic or so (I guess it kind of makes sense if you want to consider skills such as second wind), but I don't really think it would be wise to have a character who has mastered 4 or 5 different classes because of what Eva said.
  13. *raises hand* Breaking faces power, ho!
  14. Cookies and pie? You are going to get so fat from this community. Welcome! :moogle:
  15. I just remember you were a popular name that got tossed around a lot, but I personally never got the chance to RP with you. I see Seohyun here as well and I think Amaare sounds familiar. Lots of GW2 refugee's ! I really enjoyed the community there and there was always lots of RP, glad to have the opportunity to poke you all once more.
  16. Toshe stop voting lol. You are going to Balmung where Dennthota can embrace you in her ripply muscley arms.
  17. Dennthota lives and you caught all her fabulous glory!!! How did you even catch that scar? You have a good eye!
  18. Yeah, you are probably correct. Its just that the two tribes generally follow those naming guides, but SE said that not all Roegadyn would follow it. I have a Hellsguard who is using a native name ^^.
  19. I was hoping someone would become a somnus dealer! You are now my new best friend!
  20. The Roegadyn who have names such as Tall Oak and such are Hellsguard. I think SE said because they usually work as mercenaries and deal with multiple cultures all the time they have ditched more of their native tongue as opposed to the Sea Wolves who still name themselves in the native tongue. But this isn't true of every Roegadyn as some Hellsguard still name themselves in their native tongue; this is just more of a generalization of the two tribes. I would treat it just like real life though. Armi explained it really well with Japanese culture. I would really just leave it up to the player. I mean after living among all these different races and cultures you would slowly start assimilating and taking bits and parts of all of them and making them your own, but there will be families and people who are traditionalist. Some examples of how cultures have melded together are people who celebrate Cinco De Mayo, St. Patricks Day, Christmas (who are not Christians) and so on. These are all holidays that stemmed from different cultures and though they are not celebrated as they originally were intended to, the culture at large still reveres these holidays. Heck, I even think Canada has its own version of Thanksgiving.
  21. Vanschiver from GW2 ? Hello and welcome! To give you a small amount of information on the whole debacle...Balmung is the where the RP community was normally stationed, but there are a few that have expressed concerns about playing with the Legacy players the community decided to hold a vote on July 1st to have a second server for those who didn't want to play with Legacy people. They are asking people who don't want to go to Balmung to vote (not the people who have already decided to start/stay on Balmung) so that we can all gauge how many people actually do not want to play with the Legacy players.
  22. This community is just full of amazing artists. This thread needs more Roegadyn though, and I just happen to know of a really awesome Roegadyn <---------- (HINT HINT)
  23. I think they were just stating that you can access your character on PC on the PS3 since it is multiplatform, but you still need a PS3 disk to play on the PS3.
  24. I would be grateful that I choose a Roegadyn over a Lallafell, and then I would sabotage everyone's attempts to beat the game because magic is much more fun than working a crappy 9-5 job.
