I feel like the RP community is just aging with me. We are all getting so old ; ;!!!! Waaaahhh!

I am starting my character on Balmung. From what I have come to notice is that a large majority of the RP community will be from 1.0 and will be in Balmung. The only reason there is a good amount of RP going on in Gilgamesh is mostly because of the 1.0 characters who will eventually all migrate back to Balmung. We have to follow the tide so we are not lost at sea!

More, more! Let the sexy enter my cornea!

I think she was aiming for satire. There was this thing on youtube for awhile with people imitating accents and seeing how well of a job they could do. I think it all started with some really young looking guy from Britain or something who was doing very good accents of people. She is apparently just poking fun at it all and not even trying.

Lol potato

I needed this sooo much. I might have a chance of actually pronouncing my characters name now! Pfft, Elezen and their fancy french names.

As someone who has RPed as both male and female characters I definitely agree that there is a difference in the way other characters treat the two. I found out that I am able to get away with a lot more mischief when playing a female character over a male.

Hellsguard powah, ho!!!! I really liked the story you came up with. I think having him just integrate into society sounds like it will lead to some really interesting and hilarious RP adventures. Can't wait to meet Nacho!

I really like the art and the sigils you choose, and the concept of the guild seems really interesting. I hope this turns out well because it would be fun to make orders to create stuff for housing once its implemented

Ha, you and I both. I spent some of my really early childhood years in a religious commune in the mountains of Texas and I remember them burning my PeeWee Herman doll telling me it was the devil. I bet that pull string bringer of oblivion would have been worth so much money now. Anyway...I am 27 and am also a student (started late). Still have two years left. I don't have any training as I doubt a year and a half of English classes actually count. I actually just started RPing last year when Guild Wars 2 came out, but luckily people say that they can't tell that I am new to the party (or maybe they are just being nice >.o). I have always been interested in it since I ran into some RPers in XI, but it just took me awhile to want to try it out. I really enjoy it and wish I would have done this years ago as it creates a level of immersion that I have not experienced with games in a long time.

I blame the Miqote. The guys are playing lady cats and the ladies are playing man cats. I find it interesting as well because a good chunk of male RPers I run into say they can't play a lady character too well.

I couldn't disagree with you or your friend more. I barely touched fishing in XI because I just didn't like and I had no problem making gil. There were BCNMs, HNMs, NMs, farming mobs(I remember the bee's dropped something decently valuable as well as the Goobbues), farming ores, there were a few things to grow in your Mog House that were valuable, and those little outpost things where you had to defend the NPCS for a number of waves (not the WoTG expanion pack, but the normal outpost where you needed an item to start them). Really out of everyone in my immediate LS only one person had fishing decently leveled and she did it just to make sushi. The game didn't force you to do anything except to grind. Hell, barely anyone leveled crafting anyway because it was so expensive, but those that did made a lot of money. Now I do agree that recipes will still use fish, but I just hope it isn't useless stuff like crawfish soup or something like that. I was actually liking fishing in XIV and planning on doing quite a lot of it. I remember later on they allowed fishers to fish up certain NMs in XI and I would really like that here but I doubt we will get something as cool as that because they don't want NM's to be world monsters, but only appear in FATEs.

Pfft. I am legacy and I am starting over and know a few people who are also doing the same thing. You will do absolutely fine. Plus a decent chunk of people left be fore hitting cap and with the new classes released you won't need to worry about anything . Not to mention the great server community that will be sure to help you out. Welcome!

For part 2 of the beta phase, if you would like we can set up some kind of chat and I can just share my screen with you so you can look at all creation options. I can't remember which program does that as I deleted all my chat software. I know it was not skype (or maybe it was), but hopefully you know lol. I suppose I should post a picture of my main. I will probably redesign her though because I realized she looks too pretty. I originally wanted her to be more "rough around the edges", but I just couldn't help myself, haha.

My main, Dennthota Ahtahrmwyn Just Denn laughing at the local peasants.J Possible alt, Aldo Deveaux

My main is a Roegadame (as my LSmate likes to call them). I think the reason they are not too popular is because they are not as feminine as the other races, but I was really surprised on the character creation options that were provided to them. You can actually make an attractive Roegadyn.

Very very beautiful work. Once I get my character all sorted I will definitely be poking you :moogle:

What games are you playing/looking forward to?
LandStander replied to Orlog's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
:surprise: I wanna play ArcheAge. Teach me Korean! I am currently just playing single player games, mostly on the Vita (which means I am basically playing PSP games because Vita has no games lol). I am interested in The Repopulation, Black Desert, and Archeage though. We shall see what the future holds. -
RP Servers: A Discussion (mods please read before locking..)
LandStander replied to Mtoto Wamoto's topic in RP Discussion
I don't know why newcomers are so scared that they will be left out. I am a Legacy player and I will be starting a new character and I am sure lots of people will be doing the same. Plus not everyone was level 50 everything and then when summoner and arcanist coming out even the max level people will still go back and level up the new job. Heck, in a few months no one would be even to tell there was ever a difference. I didn't RP with my last character so I also will have no connections, but that is what the forums, guild, and random RP is for . No reason to splinter the community. A strong RP community depends on staying together and asking someone to sacrifice months (possibly years) of their character time so we can all start on the same even footing is asking for a bit too much. Everything will be fine and I am sure that even the higher levels will help out the lower. You have no idea how many times my old LS in XI ran CoP for myself and other newer people. We were still running it up until the Wings of the Goddess campaign (and I started playing around US PS2 release). -
Excited for being a 1.0 launch player ^_^

I did spend like 50 hours crafting (did most of it before Yoshi's team took over spent like 5 hours alone crafting down buffalo leather :dazed:), but I think I am going to start over fresh for 2.0. I already killed off my old character so I can RP a new one. I am happy they are giving us those digital items though . I just hope they let us keep our CE items from 1.0...I actually liked the Onion Helmet look. -
I. Basic Info Characters: Dennthota Ahtahrmwyn and Aldo Eckhart Primary character: Probably Dennthota Linkshells: Night Blades Primary RP linkshell: Night Blades [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): It really depends on who I am RPing with. I am pretty versatile and carefree. Views on RP combat and injuries: I am completely okay with both. I feel like drama really fleshes characters out and there is no better drama than conflict. I am okay with handling it both scripted and PvP once that is released. As long as they are in the realm of possibilities. I don't think it would be nice/fun for someone to suddenly summon meteor on you or pick up a house and use it as a weapon. Injuries, maiming, and death are all okay in my book as it is all something that can happen if you go out and start trouble or find yourself in trouble. Would like any permanent things such as maiming or death to be discussed OOC first, but injuries are a green light at all times. Views on IC romance: I tend to normally play characters who don't openly seek out relationships. Dennthota for example is a very unfeminine character and wouldn't really attract much male attention, but that doesn't mean I am against the entire idea. I do play both men and women characters and am open to any sort of romance between any of the sexes but prefer it all to happen IC and stay IC. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I love family ties, but usually when I start one that person ends up leaving the game and then I am stuck there with a big empty void in my characters history lol. If something is agreed upon lets at least use some closure Views on lore: I am pretty flexible with lore. If you want to make an unlisted town or something that is still in the realm of possibilities than I am completely okay with that. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I usually RP in /say or /party and like to leave linkshell talk for OOC stuff as its nice sitting around and chatting and sharing jokes with people. [*] III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: PST Contact info: On a full moon if you ring a cowbell while drinking a cup of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice through a complex organization of 5 bendy straws then I will come running.
