Stupid hype for Heavensward. Taking the friday of the expansion's early access off, and bookending that with monday, too. May be a bad idea, because there is bound to be all sorts of chaos and bedlam, but that's part of the fun of an expansion to me -- those early few days where the servers are crying and it's eat or be eaten. Want to pick up the new classes and roll with those (like everyone else) for a while. Planning on taking at least DRK to 50, and maybe AST as well, depending on what the next live letter reveals. For now though, I'm working on melding my animus, and spending time in the gold saucer. I'm sitting on the last couple of storyline quests after Steps of Faith. I'll probably knock those out closer to launch, so everything fits in a little nicer than waiting a couple of months. I'm not huge on snack foods, so probably won't be messing around with those. Most likely pick up a ton of tea, some nice, expensive coffee, and maybe get a nicer chair.

Yes, good. More people into my kind of music. Very good. I guess I never grew out of that era of my life. I am never out of arm's reach of some kind of Vedder song.

Hopefully it sticks this time. Hello again, RPC! I was fairly active way back around the beta events/launch and then drifted off for a while. I came back briefly to check out the main story, and split again. But like they say, third time is a charm. Let's do this introduction thing. Name is James. I'm 26, a writer by trade with a handful of publications under my belt. When I'm not working my day job (halfway between teacher and babysitter,) I run a freelance editing gig which handles everything from poetry to prose to manuscripts. I'm a junkie for 90s grunge, (Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, etc.) sunglasses, and leather jackets. I live in the cold, northern bit of California that no one likes to talk about. I play E'rinha Tia at the moment, but will more than likely be a filthy au'ra come Heavensward. I'm mostly looking to meet up with folks for occasional RP, chill out and chat with, and just wait out the last bits of 2.0.
-
Been a hot minute since I've been here! Caught a bit of that Heavensward hype bug, and decided to roll around an au'ra concept that'd in theory replace E'rinha. Got a bit of that vampire/goth rock vibe going on for him. Especially with that heavy eyeliner. I might be in love. Still draftin' nonsense up with this fellow though. Really ran with that vamprock thing.
-
Saw this, and had to reply to it. E'rinha returns!
-
For sure! Excited to get back into the swing of things!

What up, RPC? Some of ya'll might or might not remember me, but I played from those beta weekend events all the way up through a few patches into the game. I quit for a while with life's breath hot on my neck and its talons snapping at my heels, but with the anniversary of the game, and things having cooled down I figured why not dig back in. Happy to be back on the server, and happy to be doing RP again!

I saw your name and immediately thought of this guy: Regardless, welcome! (I'll be sure to look for you if any tall chinese men come knocking at my door.)
-
Hey, Naih'ir! I mentioned earlier in skype but feel free to look me up for RP if you see me on. I've neglected it pretty much since launch and I'm totally down for random RP. I don't think E'rinha would fit into the tree, etc but I wanted you to know I'm open.
-
Yeah. Still getting this. It's really annoying to keep asking people, 'hey, you get what I sent?' every like, 5 minutes because you're unsure if you've missed it or not. Minor gameplay problems aside, this is probably my biggest problem with the game right now. I'm holding out that it's fixed in 2.1
-
I love Rutger Hauer's profile. He's got such an interesting face. I've not based E'rinha on any one in particular's face. He's meant to look gruff and kind of scruffy to sort of against the grain of pretty, fresh face Miqote out there. With golden eyes because golden eyes are awesome. In WoW though, my blood elf was pretty pointedly designed after David Bowie. Because who else would embody the image of gluttony and lustful abundance better than Ziggy Stardust/Jereth?

I actively try to avoid putting myself into the characters I roleplay. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Bits of my personality leak into every character I end up creating, I'm sure. Generally they tend to be wry and sarcastic to an extent regardless of who or what they are. It's hard to avoid, I think. Which is why in-character relationships have a tendency to get knotted and messy. Because of the personal nature of the characters we're creating, it gets tricky determining where the character starts and where the player ends.

Glad to hear you're all settled, Xenedra. Dunno if I've ever said it, but your art is FANTASTIC. It's really neat looking back at some of your older pieces and seeing your growth as an artist.
-
Man, how long have you been here! Righteous. This song is also awesome.
-
Still experiencing it unfortunately. It's gotten so bad sometimes that I have to communicate that I've actually sent a message so people know I'm not just ignoring them. I'm glad to see it's other people having this issue as well, though. I searched around in Google and didn't find any real suggestions on how to fix it.
-
There is a lot of really solid advice and suggestion here in this thread. I'll just add to the choir that I think a lot of it has to do with the game still being fairly fresh, and the massive explosion of people who've gravitated to this site. On the up side, I am always down for RP, and haven't gotten really do to much at all. So open invitation to set something up.

You're still doing better than I am, then. Due to an insurance snafu, I had to spend the money I'd saved up for a 3DS (or 2DS, depending if I could get that last bit of cash) and now have to wait on that, while a copy of Pokemon Y is sitting at my friend's house waiting for me (was supposed to be my birthday present, preordered before the insurance issue came up). I'm currently trying to convince family to pool together with me for one Christmas gift rather than getting several little things (which is how I got my DS a few years back, so hopefully it'll work out). Hope your 3DS arrives quickly, though!! Oh man that's rough. Hope it comes through for you! I was on the fence about picking up a new handheld (I'm one of the fools with a Vita) just for Pokemon, but after pressure from friends, and watching this thread turn into this awesome little swaparoo, I was finally sold. (Plus, I mean, MegaTen 4. No way I was going to let that slip by.)

This sounds awesome. I'm definitely willing to get involved in it. I've got several years of writing experience under my belt (and a few published short stories to boot!) as well as professional editorial experience. Feel free to drop me a PM if you need an extra hand, etc.

Awwwwgh! *Charlie Brown noises.* So by some cruel twist of fate, the copy of Y that I ordered online is shipping far ahead of the 3DS I ordered. So I get to sit and look at that box art for a few days.
-
Told myself, 'self, you're too old and too adult for Pokemon.' That worked for Black and White 2. Now these ones are out, and I just popped in an order for a 3DS and Y. Because that red bird thing is sweet. So I'll update this when they get here and we can get some friendcodes goin' on.
