Currently working on The Bees, by Laline Paull. It's so nifty so far; I'm really feeling it.

Generally, I assume "mature" to be some sort of buffer as opposed to out-and-out saying "ERP". "Dark" usually has Gaia Online connotations, so I tend to ask before I jump in, see exactly what I'm getting myself into, hope it's war/violence/etc. as opposed to miqo'te flipping their hair back because no one "gets" being a Nunh. Taking the piss here, #notallmiqo

Ah! Bummed I missed this; hope it becomes a regular staple, as Aquila is a //huge// loser when it comes to cooking, I love it. Glad to see the event went well, and that everyone participating had a rad time!

Ishgardian noblewoman & thaumaturge, looking for many connections!
Aquila replied to Ekidna's topic in Chronicled Connections
did someone say thaumaturge hi hello i am here also google wants to auto-correct thaumaturge to turbocharge rad Aquila is a Highlander BLM that oftentimes is called on for "diplomatic security". Quotes may or may not be necessary. I'm mostly on in UTC-6, but keep odd hours, so that tends to stretch on to others' timezones. Hope to see you around sometime. c: -
What a lovely, generous idea! Count me in for sure. 1. Thavnarian Set 2. Owlet 3. Lord of Levin Lamp Best of luck to everyone involved!

Personal Profile Character Name: Aquila Tumet Gender: n/a Race: Xaela Highlander Domestic Profile Civil Status: married Place of Residence: The Goblet Occupation: diplomatic security, casual chef Free Company: Astral Scion Society [sCION] Social Profile It is possible that your character would have interactions with Aquila if they’re involved with the nobility, as Aquila is oftentimes called in for security purposes. Bodyguard, sure, but more delicate work is not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Should your character have been and/or is currently in service to the Maelstrom, they may have served alongside Aquila during the Battle of Carteneau. During which, ‘Quila’s attitude was very noticeably different as opposed to what is is now. Most certainly less on-edge, the passage of time being out of war has had at least this good effect on them. It has been noted that frequenters of the Culinarian’s Guild have seen a rather burly Highlander with auburn hair leaving with a rather teetering tower of ingredients and perhaps a new cooking implement or two. A worried expression might accompany the sheer mass of food, but whether the worry could be for the amount of items or for some other reason is anyone’s guess. Meta Profile Originally came up with Aquila simply because I wanted a character that stress-cooks. It went on from there, and, while I’m still molding their personality, I’m always open to helping advance someone else’s plot. Open mostly on weekends, all day, CST timezone (should something come up and I have to cut things short, I will be certain to tell you, no worries, and we can always pick things up later), weeknights, save Tuesday 5-9 PM. Unavailable on Tuesdays. Unavailable during FC events.

10 Jan. 2016 Switched from Xaela to Highlander; Hydaelyn needs more muscular baes. Changing my profile picture to represent that (once a good shot is found) and Aquila's WIP Wiki page will also show that.

Reading and responding to the original post, but, I wanted to quote this because, oh man do I feel it deeply. I also have "Walkups Welcome" in my search info, but I won't RP if I'm on my AST (it's a goofy glamour; I suppose you'd feel very odd trying to RP a serious situation with just this dad mask looking at you sternly). For what it's worth, I'm sorry you've had to go through all this frustration; it most certainly is disheartening, but, hopefully, the advice in this thread has given you back some "get up and go", so to speak.

This sounds like a wonderful idea! While I haven't done too much RP having to do in-game, I've experience with forum RP and I've been RPing off and on for quite some time. So I'd like to be involved, even if it's just poking my head in the Skype group and adding my two gil here and there. And I'll definitely be telling my FC about this; we've got a few members who will more than happily give it a listen to!

Ah, just finding the screenshot thread, glad about it~ Shot of the wedding day b/c the wifey looked perf. And this A+ AST glamour to celebrate 60.

(Haven't seen a thread yet for this, however, if there is one, mods, feel free to consolidate them!) Storium (described on-site as an "online game that lets you and your friends tell stories together and play in imaginary worlds of your own creation") is this rad site where RPers may build their own worlds from the ground up (or use a pre-built world if they want to get a feel for things) and play around in aforementioned worlds with their friends (or random people, should you all just want to get out there and meet new people). It's been in Alpha/Beta/Gamma stages for a while, but is apparently rolling out this month(!!!). Here's the FAQ page, as I went in with some FC members after remembering about the site (after lamenting in TS3 about not being able to tabletop with them all; Roll20 is also another alternative to this, for anyone interested) and we were all quite confused. Messing about with a test game is recommended, but you'll need at least one person with access to an account to set one up, which does cost, but, if I recall correctly, the holiday special is still going on, so it's $20.00. I was really excited about it when it came out on Kickstarter, so I donated more than that, but y'know. I really wish the Youtube video gave more detail as to how it works, but all I've got is the "intro video", which doesn't really provide too much. Nevertheless, it's about 30 seconds and gives a pretty okay overview. 3z4Y7YYuV68 But yeah, as in-game RP doesn't really allow for longer posts, and not everyone wants their forum RP to be public, this gives a good alternative, I'd think. And it has some pretty nifty mechanics that are rad as heck.

Aquila Tumet I. Basic Info Characters:Aquila Tumet Primary character:Aquila Tumet Linkshells: Astral Scion Society, Goblet Friends, My Little Pony Farm Primary RP linkshell:n/a II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Initially light to start with, as I’m trying to work RP into my FFXIV gaming experience; hoping to move on to medium and have around 3-4 steady hours of RP a week. Views on RP combat and injuries: By all means! Aquila is no stranger to combat, and, as long as things are kept fair and concise, the person behind Aquila has no qualms about RP combat. However, bear in mind that character creator can only add so many scars (damn you, SE!), so any injuries that cannot be cured via conjury/believing in the heart of the cards astrology will have to be discussed. Lasting damage would most certainly become a plot point, I’d imagine. We’d use /random for combat (shout-out to lumikou for the idea and for letting me piggyback off of it; you’re the real MVP). 100-200 - A miss, but points for effort! 300-400 - Perhaps a whiff, nothing too effective. 500-600 - You’re possibly knocked off your own feet, but a quite solid blow. 700-800 - Kept on your own feet and knocked Aquila a good one here. 900-999 - Zounds! You pack a whopper there! The poor thing is rattled! A good cooking buddy wouldn’t be minded, either. Aquila is fond of stress-baking; their kitchen is just about the only room they care about in their humble abode. Views on lore: As I’m still new to FFXIV’s RP scene, do forgive me if I’m not a lore expert, though I do my best where it comes to researching when I have questions and fixing mistakes when I goof. Lore-friendly RP is a must for me, so do let me know if I ruin immersion. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say or /p best ways to RP with Aquila, though, should I come across an IC linkshell, I won’t turn my nose up at the opportunity. /Tells are best for business. /y is distracting when I RP unless there is an event happening, as is /sh. Usually open to RP when BLM (or AST/CUL when I hit 60 and //finally// gear those up; pray for me.) and glamoured. III. Other Info Country:Southern United States Timezone:CST/CDT Contact Info:Aquila Tumet in-game, Astral Scion Society FC, PM for Skype/Steam/what-have-you [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]

Just got around to picking up The Cinder Spires. Still at the beginning. How'd you end up liking it? As for Rothfuss, ARGH THIRD BOOK ALREADY FFS. Would recommend The Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch if you haven't already picked that one up once you're done with Rothfuss; it's pretty rad~ b7dmM-QMkmg :cactuar: when you're accidentally weeb trash :cactuar:

[Interest check] Mustering a run of Bahamut's Coil?
Aquila replied to Valence's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Definitely interested over here, have completed up to t9, but willing to help for all. I main BLM, but, should my AST be 60 by that time (and there is a need for a healer), I wouldn't mind attending on that. Mostly free on weekends, weekdays after 5PM CST, save for Tuesdays, which I'm unavailable on. -

former forum rper looking to get back in the swing of things
Aquila replied to Aquila's topic in Welcome Desk
I am quite amenable to both! But I just have more experience and am more comfortable with the former, but Guild Wars 2 has made me get used to the latter. That being said, I won't shun any RP, unless it's explicit; I'm more of a fade-to-black sort. -
Firstly, hi. I've been playing FFXIV for about four-and-a-half months now and my FC has been quite lovely in making sure I'm settled in and all that good stuff. And this is the longest I've gone in an RPG without seeking RP, so, hey, I've set my own personal record. So I figure it's about time to break it. Heard about you all from a fellow FC member, figure I'd dive right in (after jotting down a few hasty notes and getting a quick name change; the first name I'm too enamored with, so the surname will have to be good enough!) and hope the water's not too deep, as I'm dreadful at anything past a doggy paddle. Living in the South has, sadly and curiously enough, done me no favors in the swimming department. IRL I'm a medic student as well as a librarian, so I make time for FFXIV when I can (which is a surprising amount). But, I don't like to push my FC to the side, so, until I learn how Aquila (my lovely Xaela Au Ra main) as a character developing fits into all of that, any RP I'll be participating will be light to medium initially. No doubt as I find my footing I'll be heavy into it all, as was the case with my previous MMOs (Guild Wars 1,2, WoW, etc., etc., but those were the main ones of note). As mentioned a bit before, still catching my place with Aquila's character, but I'm getting avid about it all. I'll link the thread here once I have it up, in case anyone's interested in reading and/or RPing with me in the near future. Thanks for your time and happy gaming!
