However due to recent circumstances! I decided to go ahead and open it. ABOUT MOMOKA So momoka is one of the head maids of the lily garden maid agency. She is an exorcist in training born in kugane, she has the goal of aiding people in the defeat and the subduing evil spirits and corrupt aether alike. She is prideful and a bit of a sensationalist, who tends to do things with a certain flair and splendor befitting that of what Bshe proclaims as a hero that aids those that cannot aid themselves. If you meet her you're certainly in for a treat due to her constant and quirky nature. That borders on odd unique and even weird in some cases. Though she is always willing to help and not too bothered with showing her emotion on her sleeve. RP HOOKS MASTER SWORDSMEN - Momoka has no idea how to use the katana that she has in possession in that fact she is always on the look for swordmen that might be able to teach her what they know. Her end goal of course creating a swordsmanship that is very much unique to her. FRIENDS - So momoka is always looking for more friends and will not deny getting some more to talk to and have a general conversation with. ANTAGONIST - Pretty much having some villain characters that want to either make her life difficult or stoop her from performing her job properly. If you like dark rp as well this is a pretty good opportunity here. FIGHTS - Be it actually dealing with foes she needs to seal or dealing in plots where she actually has to fight and show off her skill. I am all for more types of intense fight rp. Hi so I kind of wanted to get a second opinion on an idea I was thinking about and how acceptable that it might be. So everyone knows the sekiseigumi in kugane and how they kinda keep the peace in the region for the most part. Well I was wondering among there factions do you think it is possible for there to be special factions of them. Like maybe some sekiseigumi that train in arts made to deal with criminals who use magic. Maybe some that are trained specifically for stealth tactics. Even some trained to fight against highly skilled criminals that likely require a greater level of swordsmanship The idea I did have is for a special sekiseigumi branch that uses a special combat style that mixes magic and blade in order to deal with supernatural foes and threats. I was just curious if that seems a little way out of the blue.

I just wanted to add to the thread cause I've been noticing a similar thing. In regards to events. I feel that they are somewhat lacking in some places. I mean the calendar is full of events and there are many events going on. However, a lot of those events either have really small attendance numbers. I mean I always go to a few here and there and you are lucky to even get 3-4 people in some of them sometimes. I mean don't get me wrong housing rp is okay. I mean the only really big events are the performance-based ones and usually the tournament ones. I mean I personally do enjoy the grindstone and the new magic tournament that has popped up. The performance events are really hard to get any rp done cause normally you have to watch your posting. I remember back when housing was new and a few months before the server shut. There used to be all kinds of crazy unique and interesting impromptu rp going on. You know where you could have a plot going, get tangled into some big thing by just up and talking to some people may be arguing, drinking, pushing someone up against a pillar and threatening them while people come to help out. I think as a community that maybe we need to try and get out our homes and out of the events and just try to rp around the towns and stuff for a change. It wouldn't hurt and it would promote and entice so many new rpers into the scene. That's just my two cents anyway

Yeah I am hoping that kugane becomes a big hub eventually. I mean the area is really pretty and its suppose to be seamless. So I imagine the outskirts rp in that area would be way better!

I just sorta lost my creative flow for a bit and I had major fc building to help with. @Gegenji That could work she is always into making contacts and friends with the local craftsmen in the area, since she finds its easier to get things at discount or to get some special deals made. So yeah we can talk about it I am quite okay with setting something up when your ready. @dawnstar Sorry and yeah we can come up with something my current schedule has me all over the place. However I am sure we can come up with something Updates: So for the time being I have altered Hitokami into a lalafell rather then an au'ra due to change in some key character concepts. So I just wanted to make that known! ^^

Honestly this was something that bound to have come at some point. There is only so much..water you can put in a bowl before the water just starts to overflow over. This does suck for those that really wanted to get rp and really do want to rp. Heck I would be more then willing to give up some of the many rp trolls we have for some people that actually want to participate. It is going to really suck for the smaller rp fc's on Balmung on the recruitment angle. I mean even with the new players most people just want to join your linkshell or drop an alt in your fc that they ever really plan on playing. So no new players will surely see some smaller fc's suffering for a little while. Though all and all despite this I'm think I will stick to Balmung anyway. I mean I've been rping on it since 1.0 so unless the entire rp community up and moves server. I think I am likely gonna stay. Honestly this if anything is a lesson that the community as a whole has to work harder in the whole alternative rp world idea and not putting all our eggs in one basket. Hopefully the lock isn't for to long! At this moment the options are really to transfer to an alternate server or bare with it and see what happens.

@Y'ldya Yeah I think sharing stories over drinks icly is a really nice ice breaker for rp~! As for the timezone. It shouldn't be to much trouble there I generally tend to be up into the late hours more so, so I am most active during the evenings of my timezone. Hi and if you are reading this now thank you for taking a look. So pretty much my character Seia has just lost someone very important a friend that she held quite dear. The death of her friend has prompted he to take a step back and look back into her void hunting technique and just the ways she could have fought and how she could have made things end differently. As a result she has come to the conclusion that her void hunting technique has grown dull and that it might be wise for her to find a scale that will allow her to fight, while keeping others out of risk and even defending them. After reading a book on the paladins and the way that there skills allowed them to fell ogres and use there magic to subdue ashkin as well as protect people they hold dear. She found it time to seek out a free paladin in order to learn the skill and apply them. ---- So pretty much what I am really asking for is a paladin that is preferably free. As Seia has no interested in really joining the sultansworn. However if a sultansworn paladin was willing to train her and not try to induct her into the order. That would also work as well. So pretty much I am really just kinda looking for a paladin teacher for this story arc and would be really interested in anyone willing. Now pretty much I am doing this event to give my companies combat system a little test run. I though the best way was to set up a little personal event for my character. Now this is going to deal in void sent hunting so that will surely be a thing. In anticipation of a powerful voidsent she had also posted up request for mercenary assistance --- I am not to sure if I want two or one merc so I'll have to think on it.

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): My Rp tends to range between the light an medium ranges. As I prefer at the most two full para graphs and two lines at the least. I am not to much a fine of super multi para unless it is on a fourm as the ingame engine does eat post. This in turn makes multi para rp a nightmare really. Views on RP combat and injuries: Rp combat for Seia & Lyn is pretty straight forward. We pretty much use /random and depending on the number that determines the damage. (View the table below). I tend to include most major injuries to my character so deep cuts, broken limbs, etc. The light damage is usually as I see it more then able to be healed by conjury. 100-200 - A really bad miss 300-400 - A glancing hit at best 500-600 - Clumsy but an effective hit 700-800 - A really solid and spot on hit here 900-999 - You damn near knocked the wind out of the poor girl This is how I rate /random rolls Views on IC romance: IC Romance I am generally very much okay with regarding Seia and Lyn. I surely won't push it away. However there are a few guidelines juding the booth of them so let me detail them real quick Seia - She is generally a real closet romantic and a good compliment and making her blush is generally a good sign. With here in romance however you need to be direct cause she can be quite aloof when it comes to courting advances. So keep in mind you'll have to be proactive with her. Lyn - Now lyn is a really special case so bare with me here. So when it comes to romance Lyn generally prefers and is an advocate of open relationships. She can shower the one person she likes with love. However in lyn generally cannot be caged down in most cases and while explore relationships and maybe take on two possible love internist. So if your not okay with that thing then I wouldn't suggest perusing lyn Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Okay again the same case happens here so each of these character has a different thing for this and I will list them Seia = So when it comes to seia she is more then willing to have friends to expand her network for voidsent hunting and to make more contacts for the bounty hunting agency she co leads. So in most cases she's more then willing to peruse people for this end. She is also very wary of those that use the void in there magic like the black mages so she can be quite careful of them. Family wise I am looking for people that want to play seia's father who is a captain in the twin addar and possibly her arch nemesis. Lyn = So Lyn like seia takes on many many oddjobs and so she likes to have some contacts for work and other things. However family wise there was this courtesan that taught lyn a little bit for a while about the more pervasive craft of the body. So I wouldn't mind if some one wanted to play that character or think that they have a character that would already fit there. Views on lore: Okay lore wise I am pretty conscious of it and I will call out somethings that don't make to much sense in the lore. Though I do give a lot of leeway to certain things and its best to ask me about it. However timeline wise I generally always sync seia s time line with the events of the main story. So things like the ishgard joining the alliance and such or all things timeline wise. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /yell,/shout = I ignore this when I rp pretty much unless its being used for an event in which case that's a different story. When I am in an rp area or wearing my rp glamours on my characters. Then generally I treat (()) wrapped comments as ooc and any other conversation as IC. This carries across all chats. Well based on what I've read from the forum I am convinced that pretty much....That lalafell are naturally going to have to be a tad more aggressive. So based on that I will be doing some slight character adjustments to better tailor my character towards that end. So this has helped a bit

Hello so I honestly was talking about this with a fc mate of mines and such. So I thought maybe I would bring it to a bigger forum such as this to get an idea. So backstory first really. So pretty much I've been having quite a hard time finding rp on my lalafell character. Now I have no idea if that's because people treat lalafell less seriously and thus makes it harder to find potential rp partners for them or what. Now the reason I say this is because I have two alts one being a miqote and the other an au'ra. I generally am just as engaging on the other two as I am on my lalafell and yet my lalafell tends to get no rp....where as my other two seem to generally get inquires and even rp pretty easily using the same methods. So pretty much I was wandering is it just natural for lalafell to have a harder time finding rp partners or is it just plain bad luck and bad timing? The main reason I'm asking is because I'm considering a fantasia and I want to make sure that I'm not jumping the gun on changing.

So hello all my fellow balmung peeps So some story aspects with my character pretty much requires me to become a student under a monk. So seeing as that is now the cause with my character storywise, I thought it might be a good idea to come around and see if anyone was interested. Pretty much my character is a summoner rp wise. She almost ended up blowing up her company leader. So after that she pretty much has been looking up ways to fight more directly to minimize area and friendly damage. So from that she read up on the Fist Of Rhalgar and went out on a mission to retrieve a shard of a soulstone. She managed to get the shard and has been using the faint information held with in to practice her fist to fist fighting. However its clear she needs a teacher to really learn the ways of the monk.

I general like to get some sorta of character development or at least get a satisfying session in when I do my rps. So as a result when I do rp I generally prefer to spend a bit of time. So I do do to many light rps unfortunately. Views on RP combat and injuries: Combat is okay it be pretty silly for Seia & Sohana in their light of work not to get into a fight at times. Though I ask for a fair fight if anything, none of that auto hitting and god modding stuff, know your characters limits and think logically and will do fine. Also on the injury side deep gashes and broken limbs are free game though dismemberment not so much. Views on IC romance: On romance I am pretty much okay with it for the most part even the more raunchier stuff. However when it comes to characters seia is more conservative where as romance and naughty type of things are general reserve for some one special. Sohana however is more of saucy individual known for flirting and also know for having little flings here and there so saucy rp I will likely do more with her. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): As Seia is the head researcher of T.A.R.A you can be that she does a lot of things related to the unexplained aetherial anomalies. As well as her normally traveling about gathering information. Sohana is generally about trying to make gill through various means so I could see some of this with her to. So tldr I do a lot of standard non romance to Views on lore: So canon lore for seia is pretty much the stuff on her profile. Though when it comes to lore just talk to me with it and I'll tell you which lore I count and which I don't Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say I treat this as pretty much talking out in the open unless, you emote that its a thought or your speaking in whisper. Oh I have some plans for my character Seia. I plan on changing her from lalafell to au ra. So I've been sorta thinking of a way to do that without having to do tons of retcons. I sorta have an idea for it that I think might work maybe.
