Thanks all for the input thus far, keep em coming! To address a couple of Keland's points: There will be no break when we move to Eorzeapedia. For now though, we'll have it on just cause we can and people seem to enjoy the tunes. The laughing mirrors my own concern, partly because I'm self-conscious. But I think it's also unnatural to tell a joke and actively make an effort not to laugh. I see what you mean though, I do think it can be reduced. We'll work on that. I don't think we're interested in catering specifically for people listening at work to that extent, especially since we do already bleep out the swears. When we go off-topic, I can't speak for the others, but I personally have nothing important to say anymore about the topic that we were on. If I do, I remember it and reel it back. I'm sure others feel the same way, so if we go off on a tangent and switch topics, maybe it's intentional

We want to take a few callers on board to talk RP in episode 6. Who will be available and when? We can potentially record anytime (although we usually start at 5pm EST) on Tuesday OR Wednesday. Let us know which of those days is better for you. Guild representatives who have not been on yet will be given priority. We'll let you know based on the results here which day we'll be recording. I hope those people signed up for that day will pop up on Skype. Our contact info is listed in the announcement thread.

Hey, we're still here! Have some respect! The body is barely in the ground! We plan to cover the RPC as closely as possible although like I mentioned we might have a separate short episode for that. Keep in mind we will still remain extremely influenced by the RPC and what you guys contribute to the podcast. We still want to be very much grounded in the RP community even after the move to a different host. Barely anything will change from the excising style (unless we chose to change for some reason) so we'll still be asking for guest-hosts, community news, storyline updates, etc. But anyway I'm sure this can be further discussed in a separate thread. What did you think of episode 5? hehe

Bob âZombie no go think, unless you tell am to thinkâ -Fela Kuti, âZombieâ The intruder checked the barrel of his old .45 Colt revolver to make sure everything was alright. He took a deep breath and kicked open the door. Lisa was on top, her head turned to the side in surprise. Bob, the man with the âOâ face, didnât quite know what was happening. Now you are staring into the strangerâs cannon. You see the barrel shift, the chamber with the bullet served up like a torpedo. You are at the opening looking in, a mere dust particle. The intruder squeezed the trigger, the bullet flew out and you are at the business end of it. The distance between the gun and the girl is a blur. You hit something hard but donât stop as a subtle sound of a bone crack is heard only by you. Everyone else is deafened by the âbang.â She collapses onto the bed. The red sheets turn even more crimson. You are stuck there in what is nothing more than goo inside her skull. Her blank eyes are lifeless two-way mirrors, and through them you can see⦠Perhaps we should backtrack. Bob graduated with a Business degree and now earned a stable living in his nine-to-five job over in midtown. Every weekday heâd take the LIRR to his newly purchased home and his recently-wedded wife. Bob came home in his newly bought suit, settled his black leather briefcase on top of the shoe rack which also served as a bench in the little hallway just inside the house. His wife, Lisa would cook him a chicken dinner and theyâd watch TV. Later they would usually have sex. Today Bob went for cocktails after work with his co-workers. Thatâs what he told Lisa anyway. He was really interested in his boss, who had a nice rack. They passively flirted but at the end of the night Bob felt the weight of his wedding ring in his inner pocket and went home. At nine twenty he was home, putting down his briefcase. He was followed. A lanky figure walked up the block Bob lived on, peering into his windows. They were watching TV. âNot yet,â the figure muttered as he surveyed the sky and his pocket watch. Two hours later, the man showed up again. This time he came closer to the windows in which the lights have just gone out. They werenât downstairs. Going through the back left the intruder out of breath, but he pressed on. The back door slid open (it was one of those sliding glass doors) and the man proceeded cautiously inside. The house was new because the stairs were silent as he walked up to the second story. Their bedroom door was left ajar, but only a crack. He counted the number of bullets he had; two. âWould it be right to kill her too? She shows no signs of being one of them,â he thought to himself. âI love it when you do that,â her voice resonated from within the room. âShe is with him though. Maybe they trick people to think they are just like everyone else, and thatâs how they reproduce.â âOh god, donât stop. Right there! Right there! Right there!â The sounds of passion emanated from within. âWhat if she is with his child? One more reason to kill her,â the intruder nodded. âIâll ride you now, have you been a bad boy?â Lisa whispered to her husband. âYes,â he whispered back. It was true, and at that moment it was okay to tell the truth. âA zombie lover should be punished for being so ignorant. She risks giving birth to one.â With that the strangerâs internal dilemma was resolved. He kicked open the door and killed both of them. The gunshots have revived a monster which our hero, the zombie hunter, didnât anticipate. A small black dog ran inside the room, barking. The intruderâs heart started to pound so hard he must have heard it himself. He obviously didnât plan for this, and right now he hated himself for not considering this possibility. Guilt had begun to germinate within as he anticipated the outcome of this random encounter. The dog, whose name tag said âLuckyâ gnarled and displayed a fine set of teeth. She stood her ground, the little one, looking fierce. The killer aimed the gun at the dog, shut his eyes and pulled the trigger. Dry fire. He recalled the two bullets he had were now lodged into the zombie and his brood mother. He grasped a lamp whose base was heavier than he had predicted and threw it at Lucky. He didnât mean for it to hit her head the way it did. A dent, lots of blood. He could imagine the fracture, the fuzzy gray matter within, firing electricity back and forth trying to figure out how to repair the damage. Lucky whimpered. The intruder quickly ran up to the fallen dog, examining it to see if he could help her in any way. Even half-dead Lucky still had hatred in her eyes, her teeth still out in a menacing way as if she meant to say âIâll get you yet.â His time was up, he had to leave. His heart ached for the dog lying on her side, already half as angry and half closer to sleep. He reached for his revolver and bludgeoned Lucky.

Thanks for the offers of help! We've said from the start that we will take as much suggestions, feedback, etc. as you'd be willing to give. So if you want us to discuss something you found interesting, make a note of it and send us an email! That's what the whole "Contact Us" announcements are all about hehe Interesting... I am not sure! I suppose no one can stop you but I'd want to see what the community thinks. We'd be covering the same material (for the most part) if there were to be 2 RP podcasts. We'll be focused on the happenings of the RPC regardless of the move, so I am not sure if it's really needed. That being said, if people feel like they want other RP-related podcasts, by all means, have at it hoss

Since we've devoted an entire episode to Linkshell advertisement as well as done advertisements nearly every episode since, future Linkshell ads will have to be done by those Linkshells themselves. How? Easy! Either come on the podcast to talk about your LS OR send us specific information you want us to mention about your group! This will put less strain on us (digging for your website, reading all the info and writing notes on what to say about your LS) as well as give you more control over your advertisement. Actually you don't have to be a guild leader, I will start a thread for anyone who is available to guest host or call in. I hear you on the lack of RP topics. We thought it was timely to talk about beta since it was new at the time and that's what people were talking about generally. After that we really didn't have time to talk about RP related threads. I guess I was confused by your use of the word "story", mainly, is there one? It seems you want it to be f;at out adventuring/treasure hunting, which indicated that there is no central story to it. It makes me wonder what exactly will draw people together to this RP? Just asking so that I know how I can hook my character to this, I want to check it out.

I'm a little confused. What will people be actually doing thought? Traveling, for what?

Some of us in the US feel your pain. There have been times where I played on the EU or JP peak times for 2+ weeks due to my biological clock being so damn random. Needless to say, you might see me up at your peak times quite often when FFXIV comes out.

I thought this thread was about something slightly different I was thinking, do races have their own languages? Perhaps there is a common Eorzean that everyone speaks, perhaps derived from original Elezen but now has words from all cultures mixed in? Depending on the time period/setting of Eorzea I think it might be appropriate. I'm not saying that everyone should know a second, native language particular to their tribe but just the fact that there are other languages out there one can learn and communicate with. Heck most people born might just be taught Eorzean in schools and whatnot- and rarely thought their native tongue by parents. What do you think about this? How would this be implemented?

If anything, I think it'd be cool if lore/history linked to specific accounts within A.E.T.H.E.R.'s encyclopedia. For example, a monster's name would link to the Encyclopedia page where we take a more personal/light-hearted approach to describing it and it's behaviors. Same could be done with places, etc.

I had my eyes set on Nald'thal since the info about the twelve was available. Actually even before then! It fits almost too perfectly for my character and story. Mason will also worship Thaliak, although not as strongly.

A baby dies when people mix up OOC and IC. That being said I know of a few people who started IC relationship and moved on to an OOC one. How does this happen if there is an IC/OOC barrier? No idea. Personally I keep those completely separate, and am slightly irked by people that cross the boundary either way. Be it IC relationship turning OOC, or an OOC relationship influencing IC actions. During my time in FFXI, I RP'ed 2 serious relationships and a few dates. I was in an RL relationship at the time too, and my gf understood the difference between an online game and reality? lol There really wasn't any competition. I really enjoyed the IC relationships though, they created a bunch of good RP and stories. My character was blind, so I was pretty proud of his prowess That is, until a guy started to steal his girl right there in front of him, but I couldn't do anything about it! Good times! In FFXIV, Mason will start out with an NPC gf. It will be realistic since I'm in complete control of it. Eventually it'll end though, and after that I'd be open to all possibilities regarding IC relationships. As with everything else, it'd need to happen naturally IC. ERP is not for me personally, and I am worried about the OOC/IC boundary when others do it, but ultimately even that is not my business. That boundary better be there when they RP with me though, cause then it becomes my business lol

Effect/Affect is just dumb. I use effect all the time because I personally think they are nearly identical in meaning and should just morph into one word. That eliminates any headache one would get from thinking about using affect or effect. :frustrated: Sometimes sanity is not worth slight word corrections which barely anyone would notice anyway. Out of those people, how many care enough to be EFFECTED? Just not worth it.

I think this thread should be squished to avoid confusion.

I am really looking forward how things will play out between Linkshells and specific role-players. I hope that guilds interact with each other on daily basis and we get some crazy stories going. I just hope I can keep up
