Voted yes. It will at least create potential to start or share storylines on grounds the participants can agree on. If it wonât be used, then itâs the same as never having it, no loss there. I personally already know certain Linkshells I want to get involved with, and others Iâd likely avoid, so cross-LS activity will happen regardless of this forum being there or not. However for those who might not know other linkshells, or which linkshells they wish to connect with, it could help to create cross-LS RP. I donât mind the forum being visible to all, with maybe a hidden sub-forum for story discussions which would include spoilers we donât want others to find out about ahead of time. I am not sure what else it /can/ be used for, besides RP planning? If there are other ways to use it, Iâd like to know, but I am not really sure of anything else Iâd use it for. In reply to Rainâs post: You do know that youâre making assumptions, right? The interest of leaders in such a forum is exactly what is being measured, not sure why youâre trying to predict the outcome. You also seem to scorn people being interested in their own linkshells, which I very much disagree with. I think finding a group you can RP with and have fun is mostly why the RPC exists in the first place. On top of that, I do not think âthe communityâ is in shambles any more so than the overall FFXIV playerbase. Why do you think the community is in shambles? No one ever explains this, and maybe you should in a separate thread. I know I am not the only one confused by such statements. I am not even sure what you mean by community, and what it /should/ be like in your ideal view? What would be different if it werenât in âshamblesâ as you call it? I personally do not fit within the mold youâre trying to describe here for LS leaders, so itâs hard for me to connect to your generalized statements. I advise against painting anything over with a wide brush like you do in this post. Letâs focus on the actual topic at hand, instead of trying to predict how others will respond, or talk about the overall state of the community. Things like that will quickly derail the conversation.

Welcome to the community. Any RP, to me, is subjective to what you prefer. I don't think there is such a thing as FF-specific RP. Yes, we're in a Final Fantasy game and must abide by the lore and the setting, but the RP within that setting could be adapted to any other MMO, really. I think it's simply what one finds interesting, what one things is good storytelling and writing.

Wow, thanks for this! We've actually begun a small version of a similar project over at the Everwatch forums. It's a compilation of useful RP guides, discussions, and lore bits. This will certainly go in there. Feel free to add other links if you want, or take from the links already provided. We focus on deep character immersion with rich, compelling storytelling ranging from interpersonal daily interactions to long term grand-scale Linkshell story arcs. As players we value the gameâs lore and embellish it with creative content. Natural development of characters and Everwatch as a whole is an integral part of our Role-Play style. We also don't forget about the greater Role-Play community on the server. Everwatch is always eager to create stories with other groups, or join already existing plotlines. Individual events, as well as the Linkshell storyline will at times open up and invite participation from others in the Role-Playing community. It's important for us to maintain a positive image among Role-Players and non Role-Players alike. While we value character immersion and development first and foremost, we also strive to be a competitive Linkshell with regards to end game activities. For example, if you can only play 5 hours a week, it wouldn't be recommended IC'ly to take the role of an Assault Coordinator. We have IC 'part time' positions within the LS so that even those who don't want to have Everwatch as their main Linkshell, or do not play often, can still be a part of our community. Roster Info: We had a disproportionate male/female ratio, favoring the later- however that seems to be normalizing, although we still have a few more female characters than male. We are missing Lalafell and Roegadyn within our ranks, however the other races seem to be well balanced (aka not /too/ many Miqo'te ). Always looking for characters that are willing to fight for our cause, and we do a good job of fitting anyone in to do that. Do not be discouraged if your character is a thief, for instance. OOC Sideshell: No OOC shell, we use forums/party chat/mumble for OOC talk, typically outside of RP instances. Since we RP /a lot/ the OOC is rare, and we keep it that way. Our members are encouraged to be a part of Intermission, the server-wide OOC shell for all RPers. Endgame: We have one IC event a week focusing on endgame, and then various OOC meetups but those are rare these days due to the amount of RP going on.
