Ugh Mnim, I hate when one person posts for some anonymous "we." Anyway, to reply to Verence/Deir, the more 'challenging' stuff for the characters to RP out are a lot harder to do in mixed groups, because not everyone is on the same page with the type of RP they're into, so doing that on major scale... I doubt it can fly, as someone would be turned off by w/e someone has planned or the way the story goes. These "let's just get together and RP!" threads always end with everyone listing why that can't really happen >.>

I am not sure about the lighter side of the spectrum, but at least on the more lore-plausible side, the people I RP with as well as myself have played this game for a year+ in some cases, and in that time have interacted, even closely in some cases with moderate/light RPers. I wont speak for others, but I found it to be frustrating or /facepalming more than fun, thus the sort of seclusion where you RP with the people who are of the same general mindset happens. I've been a part of many, many Linkshells from Sanctus to TALE to Eorzean Guard. I've involved myself in the storylines therein, and most of the time found them ultimately to go into directions that were not fun for me to RP. I don't blame anyone for that, if that's how your mind works, so be it. But I also don't think it's fair to say that we should give others a chance, when a lot of RPers already have.

I don't think any revamping is necessary - we're doing just fine. But then again, I have that mindset more often than not, 'we're fine'. There is a sweet-spot for RP at events thought, too many people and you can't really focus at all, too few and you're RPing with the same faces. I agree with Eva though, for an RP community there is soooo much OOC and moderate/light RP here. I've often thought that maybe my standards are too high, or maybe I should lower my expectations when taking in applications for Everwatch, to make it grow a bit more... because it seems hard to come by RPers who enjoy immersion as much, and don't have various oddities about them that (in my opinion) aren't plausible/clash with lore/just no-nos. But then it wouldn't be genuinely fun for me to RP with them. I think this is probably where the community is /quietly/ hurting the most, in 'heavy RP'. I feel like if I wanted moderate, I can get it in buckets.

I can post it and pester them about it until we get something out of the representatives/devs no problem, I just had a tough time finding that quote by Yoshi-P about the RP server. Kinda swamped with work/classes to bother digging further at this point, so if anyone can get it, we can push forward. A direct quote like that would nail it.

1) Petition for an RP server, if they announce an RP server select it! 2) If there is no RP server, and they announce server names; choose BESAID no matter what number it is. 3) If they do not show names, pick server 9* Reasons for picking 9: -End of the list next to 10, which is a specialized server -Is not 7, or any of the other obvious choices -If we announce (and make some noise) about 9 being RP server early, a good portion of the Besaid community will sway that way as well, as evident on official forums. (Many are waiting on us to say where we are going.) That will also influence other communities who may pick 9, since they will already know RPers are going there. (aka people who want nothing to do with RP) We should prepare for worse case scenario with SE not giving out server names or announcing an official RP server while pushing for them to do just that.

Oh snap everyone's coming out of the woodwork. Personally I don't care which number RP community goes with, but that the rest of the community knows that we picked that number. Since SE indicated that 10 is somewhat specialized for EU players, I think the logical thing would be to take 9, as specialized for RPers. I think we should introduce some sense into this process instead of just picking your favorite number, because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what your favorite number is, it matters what would work in favor of the community as a whole.

How much of the 'past' versions of the character remain? You seem to indicate that the character 'traveled' of his own will between universes - is this the case here? Or is he simply based on the old versions of the character? Is he half-demon in FFXIV?

I'm similar to Merri, except I want to try Warrior our first before Paladin, just because it seems a little more fitting IC'ly and I don't quite know how it will work as opposed to Paladin, kinda old hat.

It sounds good, and youâre right, some linkshells including my own have been doing similar things. Iâve also used real leves as a placeholder for an RP plot, and I know TALE has done this as well. That said the leves are actually sanctioned by the authorities of each city-state, as you probably know. It means that you are given leave to do X, Y, and Z which you usually could /not/ do, such as murder people, etc. One thing to watch out for are player created leves which allow characters to do things the city-states might not allow. Iâm not sure the leves would benefit anyone other than pure freelancer RPers. Given an hour to create content, I know I would rather focus on making things for my own Linkshell rather than leves which my character wouldnât undertake ICâly, so I am unsure how I personally can contribute to this project. Furthermore I am not sure other LS leaders/members would create original content only for this. Given that there is plenty of original player-created content already out there, I wont speak for other players, but if you want to grab what Iâve done for the Everwatch and make it available/known to others in this server-wide player-created âleveâ pool, have at it. I donât mind sharing at all.

Everwatch Monthly Update IV (Dec/Jan) The Big Take Over Oskar here, and hello once again Everwatch and those eyes... those curious eyes which look on from the darkness. Hello to you, stranger. Now that we're done with that creepy greeting, let's move on to some substance, yes? Yes... we all agree that it's the best course of action. This past month, Everwatch was taken over! Oskar was injured on a mission which Deirdre (the player) DM'ed. She's actually done a few very interesting DM'ed missions for the rest of us this past month, so thanks, I guess But on /that/ one, where Everwatch was sent to obtain a very sacred box for the Order of the Twin Adder, which was sailing on a ship, down in the cargo hold, where there were caged dragons and other treasures, Oskar got got! If you're not familiar with slang, that means he was shot. In the chest, too â so that's been fun to RP out! My main character fighting for his life, undergoing withdrawal from the bites of âMuravyeâ ants (a drug I've made up), and is now crippled for the near future. Fun times, thanks a lot Deirdre. But in his stead, a plot was hatched IC'ly to have someone else take hold of Everwatch. His name is Ildorath Ver'honu, and he is a bad, bad man. We've had fun with a little story-arch where Everwatch took a turn for the illegal activities! A quick list of which is escorting moko grass caravan (during which Deirdre gave birth), helping a fake Gil manufacturer get his pyrite, making Syesta construct pistols instead of her usual work, and other very very shady activity. Speaking of Syesta, she has started a storyline of her own, latest event having us fight against a number of Imperial mercenaries, and discovering something new about her in the process! Eva has been in a slumber for a while (conveniently over the holidays!) due to her overuse of aether on one occasion. Her father has also been ill, and so not much of Eva was seen this past month. All of that will change over the course of the next month, as she rises to power and makes entire Eorzea fall the knee underneath her menacing glare... what? No, I am getting word now that this will not be happening. But hopefully we will see more of her next month! Bad news, Deirdre has been ousted from the watch! Don't worry, this is purely IC â attempting to thwart the leader would do that. There was just way too much bad blood between Oskar and Deir, and going into here would be a major downer, so I wont! Find our for yourselves, read the journals Aside from RP, we've also tackled on endgame. Some of us got a few wins over Ifrit and loot to show for it. A coffer run yielded Gunther a cap he wanted, Syesta got her third rank fifty, and I was shocked/amused by how easy Darkhold is now. We still haven't taken on the Moogle King, though. Report of the month: Wailers Report from Interrogating Imperials from Syesta's event, âThe Exiled Engineerâ When the Wailer who accompanied the group, Dmitry (who I RP'ed as) went out of his way to stun or knock out the Imperials, I did not see Syesta (the player) then writing up a whole report on behalf of the Wailers who apprehended the evildoers. Great work there as always and furthers the story even more! Woot! Journal of the month: Eva's journal Someone who deserved a monthly journal mention for a while now, Eva consistently dishes out interesting and insightful journal entries which also sum up the activities of the covered time frame extremely well. I urge you, if you haven't, check them out. They're amazing! A Glance Ahead Everwatch which now has returned back into Oskar's hands, will continue to do what it can for the Twelveswood and the realm at large. The next few weeks will be dedicated to strengthening the core of the Linkshell, more endgame, as well as reaching out to other groups!
