Welcome to the RPC! I'm sorry to hear that you've had some bad experiences that caused you to turn away from it for a while, but I'm happy to hear that you're giving it another whirl! It sounds like something you are super passionate about, and I know it's helped me get away from all the negativity and bring me to a much better place. I don't see anything for Faerie over in the Linkshell section, but I definitely encourage you to maybe open one up! Maybe there are other Faerie Folks that you could recruit and/or meet up with and get the ball rolllllllllin

Hey there! First off, welcome to FFXIV and the RPC! I spent some time on both Mateus and Balmung, but Balmung pulled me back in. I was away for some time, though so it may be a lot different than the last time I was here, but I do remember that this used to be the place to be. I was able to catch some RP with a few folks last night and it was a great time! You can find RP almost anywhere. Taverns are a popular spot, so anywhere near them works too! Having your RP tag on and something in your profile (a much, much smaller TRP. It's like TRP with a Twitter character limit) mentioning you like walkups and/or tells can't hurt, either. Really, you can find roleplay anywhere. If you're looking for congregations, again.. taverns/inns are your best bet. Ul'dah, Limsa, Gridania(?). You can always find someone with their RP tag up (sometimes they don't even do that and just roleplay without it!). As far as I know, nobody's lost a hand or a friend from initiating things or butting in to some conversations that caught their attention as they were passing by, but my etiquette is kind of.. sporadic? My social anxiety is crazy, so I tend to get a lot of folks that either saw my advertisements for tarot readings on here or were super curious about my little profile and wanted to know more. Good folks on here and in-game! I don't think there are any addons, but I could be wrong. Again, we do have the Twitter limited profile we could set up that lets others know a very teensi bit about us, but we also have an RP tag we can put on that let's people know we are roleplaying or in the mood for it. You can see these by inspecting people and looking at that little speech bubble thing on the top(ish) left side, above their character. I hope you have a great time here in FFXIV! I played WoW for a little bit but I always come back here. If you ever get bored and want your character's fortune read, please let me know! It's been a super long time since I've posted or even played. I had a whooooooole lot going on. I'm back at it again, so I thought I would stop in and say hi! I'm Remi. I messaged a few people on here literally years ago that did fortune telling RP because I thought it would be fun to do.. and then I took it a step further and found a way to incorporate Eorzean lore, the cards that the AST uses and combine them with their IRL Tarot counterparts. I did readings here and there when time let me, but have heard nothing but great things from those that I read for. Unfortunately, you're not able to touch the cards yourselves so I have to actually do that part, but other than that, it's a good time with physical cards being used. I am super happy to be back and see all your faces again, new and old. I am ecstatic to see that this place is still here (so much has changed!) and thriving. I haven't RP'd in a super long time, and it looks like I would have to get my macros set up all over again (it's a LOT to type out lol), but if any of you are bored/curious and would like to see what the cards have to say to you, feel free to shoot me a tell! I'm looking forward to seeing you folks in game

Welcome! I know how you feel. I felt (and still do, actually, though not as much) really timid and anxious when it came to RP. I wanted to do it "right" and was thinking I'd be totally awful. I did a little on WoW but that was it. The lore and story here just felt like so much to take in it was overwhelming.. But stick with it! I'm not sure how the community over on your server is, but repetition and good partners totally help. You'll do well

Hey, everyone! Back in October, I had tried being more active in the RP scene here in FFXIV. I thought going the fortune teller route would be something neat to do, and created props to help make the readings more unique and special to each person. It was going well! I had happy people, and it was a good time. I met some great people on here (Eorzea is a big place. This is a great source to connect with people that I may have missed). Real life happened, and my school/career got my full attention. Now, though, I have moments where I can enjoy a little more..freedom. I'd love to get back to providing the citizens of Balmung with readings! I'm just posting here to use it as an announcement and gauge interest. If you'd prefer privacy, shoot me a PM or a letter in game. I have an apartment in the Sultanas Breath Subdivision, so there won't be interruptions or nosy folks, though I'm open to reading for you wherever you'd prefer. So sorry if this is worded weirdly. Who: Numu and You! What: Fortune Telling/Card Reading When: 12 November 2016 to 19 November 2016. 1900-??? EST. Where: Fallgourd Float's Bobbing Cork Why: Because We Care I would very much like to be more active with this. I received a good bit of feedback from my Lost flyer, and would like to expand on that even more. That being said, I brought it public! Numu will be at The Bobbing Cork in Fallgourd Float from 7pm EST until..well, nobody wants a reading! A little bit more about this: I understand that there are quite a bit of people that do this sort of thing, but I wanted to be a bit more authentic with it. I have actual Tarot cards that I partner with the sessions, so it's not cherry picking or me asking you what direction you want the reading to go that best suits your character. Right now, I do a three card spread underneath a Major Arcana that sets the theme for the reading. I'm dabbling in a few others like what awaits your love life, so if there's anything that you're curious about and would like done, please let me know (in advance, if possible, so I can get familiar with how the Cards are set and how to read them). As stated on the flyer, these readings are priced modestly at 250 gil. Chances are I forgot to add something or left some things vague, so if you have any questions, I'm here! See some of you tonight!

In any case, welcome (out of the shadows)! I'm not familiar with Gilgamesh territory, but I have a few friends here on Balmung that came from there saying the same things you did. Also, I believe Gideon posted their equivalent that should have some options for you should you decide to stay there. I've been on Balmung for a couple of months and RP can be found practically anywhere, from what I've seen, and there are events going on pretty frequently. If you're really trying to spend some time doing some more RP, we'd be happy to have you. Just let me know so I can /poke you. No matter what you decide, we're happy you're here!

Welcome, Kang! I hope you were able to get some rest, at least. A friend of mine that got me into this was absolutely obsessed with the Shaolin vs. series, and we watched Shaolin vs Lama more times than I care to admit. Definitely an enjoyable genre. As far as roleplaying, it is a lot to take in, but you are at a great resource for learning about it here. Like Gegenji and Thunderbolt300 posted, you'll find answers to your questions here in their respective forums, and whatever you can't find, ask! We're here to help (especially Sounsyy when it comes to lore). So, you're trying to create a character here and not transfer? As Balmung is the place to be and there is quite the population, that's gonna be tough. I have heard some success stories of people making a character in the early early to early morning, but I'm not sure how viable that is anymore. I know the one sure fire way is to do the character transfer, which allows you to bring your other characters as well should you want to. Let me know what you decide to do so I can come and /poke you in Ul'dah!
