  1. This is really awesome and I can tell a lot of work has gone into it. It's very well designed and answers any questions that come to mind in the text itself. I feel like this could very easily work for Free Comapnies, and very large groups of RP'ers. Obviously it would be a little less effective with two RP partners, since for that it seems almost too in depth, and partners can usually coordinate pretty well. The only criticism I have is when it comes to "turns" since that seems to restrict the plot quite a bit and coud potentially cut the plot short. That being said it could also stop it from dragging, so I can see both sides of the coin.
  2. You know the shipping costs are going to be at least on par with the book right? I really hope they will sell on (the Dutch version of) Amazon, so I don't have to deal with the horrors of SE EU stores and shipping I know, that's why in kinda dreading it. Though my heavensward order went through smoothly so I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic that it will all go well. If not, then hopefully Amazon wil stock it.
  3. Here goes for my three girls. I opted to add pictures too since these foods might not be too popular stateside. Ameline: Sweet but tangy, and quite comforting - Lemon curd Izayoi: Soft, delicate, with a subtle flavour and a bit of a surprise: Mochi with anko filling A'senna: strong and exotic, can be slightly bitter- Moroccan Orange Desert http://www.simplyrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/moroccan-orange-dessert-horiz-a-1200.jpg[/img]
  4. I have some spare codes from the O2 priority stuff. So if anyone can't get any codes feel free to message me and I'll send you a screenie of all the codes I can get!
  5. Lore book! I dread to think how expensive it's going to be for me in the EU... I hope it wont be too much but we shall have to see. I'm glad they decided on that way to do apartments! Finally a form of housing that wont become ridiculously priced! I think I'll be getting a small aquarium for mine too. Just to have one and put my fisher to good use! Aside from that there's not much I can really see myself getting excited about. I have soo much to catch up with on both of my characters since I had like a 6 month break. So I will get excited about it when it rolls around for me!
  6. I would have to say "why not?" For this. I've not come close to meeting the character limit since I can only sensibly juggle a few characters at a time but if people can have more than 8 I don't see why it would be an issue. Guild Wars has extra paid for character slots and they function just fine. In fact, FFXIV could really take a leaf out of GW book and put the cash shop in-game too! It's so inconvenient to have to log out and log in every rim I Fantasia and name change. You could also preview the outfits and stuff. But I digress. The point is, other games have this feature and it works. The only issue is housing, which is ridiculous as it is. They need to fix this, perhaps by instancing it so you might have several versions of the same ward. So ward 1a, 1b, 1c and so on and so forth. I am personally not too bothered about having a personal house now that apartments are coming. I would never be able to put enough effort into decorating the darn place for starters. But an apartment is manageable and if they do things right I am more than happy with that.
  7. My character Ameline is a Mage and a teacher, so if your character is looking to learn more he should hit her up. She's versed in Conjury, Astromancy, and very basic Arcanum.
  8. Im officially on Balmung now! It's good to be on here at last!
  9. Hello everyone, So I'll preface this by saying that I'm new here and whilst I have searched the forum I haven't combed through it extensively, so if I have missed this somewhere please just delete this post and let me know. Anywho! My character Ameline is of Sharlayan descent and was raised in the colony for a short time before moving to Ishgard and being adopted. I'd really like her to be able to explore her heritage more. I'm not in Balmung just yet, waiting for Saturday to roll around so I have the money to transfer. But I would love to know if there is a Linkshell or Free Company for Sharlayan characters. If there isn't, is it something people would be interested in? Thank you everyone! (P.S I'm very new to the RP scene here and this is by far the nicest online community I personally have encountered.)
  10. Absolutely! I'm on vacation until Wednesday, but I'll be back normally after that. My FC will be hosting an open air RP night on Thursday in Revenant's Toll, starting at 8pm Eastern. You're welcome to come by then! I won't be able to attend unfortunately, but I'm more than happy to set something up out of game for the time being. I have both Discord and Skype ^^
  11. Unfortunately I think Kage is right. For all the Gil I have saved on my Balmung character, there are no houses and quite frankly people are charging way too much to relinquish their house.
  12. Hi! My character is Ameline Valence and she has quite a few things in common with your character. Let me know if you would like to set something up!
  13. Ameline was raised in Ishgard! I'm more than happy to set something up with you if you would like.
  14. This is still a WIP, and her background is very much under construction. Some things are certain though; She lives in Ishgard currently She is a Conjurer and healer She is very academic
  15. General Info Name: Aveline Valence; formerly Ameline Bellemont Server: Balmung Race: Duskwight Elezen Citizenship: Ishgardian (adopted)/ Sharlayan Age: 23 Orientation: Bisexual Relationship status: Single Occupation: Healer, volunteer teacher, researcher Brief Bio: Born in the Old World to Isolde and Adrien Bellemont Ameline was raised by two top class historians. However when she was very young Ameline and her parents relocated to Sharlayan in Dravania. There her parents continued their research while raising their daughter, despite tense relations with the Garlean Empire and the knowledge that they may need to return home. The fateful news came, and while the majority of Sharlayans returned home the Bellemonts chose to continue their research. Fortunately they were taken in by a kind Ishgardian family; the Valences. Sadly Ameline's parents both succumbed to disease by the time she was 16. However, the Valences decided to adopt Ameline and she has stayed with them, ever grateful for their kindness. Ameline is now an Ishgardian noble, albeit a minor one. She grew up very privileged and received a first rate education from private tutors thanks to the generosity of her adoptive parents. Furthermore, she and her brother both underwent basic military training. Ameline chose the path of the strategist and ultimately received rudimentary training in the art of arcanum. Despite this Ameline did not join the military formally, and instead found her footing as a healer. To further her healing abilities she journeyed to Gridania on her 18th birthday and underwent training as a Conjurer. Her white magic doing much more to help the people of Ishgard in the wake of the dragon attacks. Ameline is a very kindhearted person. She hates seeing anyone suffer and will always try to help where she can. This has often gotten her into trouble since she can be overzealous. Once or twice she has even risked her life to help those in need. Despite this she retains a very level head, and a sharp wit. She prides herself on being an excellent judge of character (though her brother would disagree) and a proud Mage. Thanks to her birth parents she has a very keen mind, and takes great joy in learning new things. About Me I've been RP'ing for a few years now (mostly in WoW), and I've been playing Final Fantasy since about January. I'm not on Balmung yet but I hope to be in the next couple of weeks, after that it's gearing up for a while. However, I am in the UK so I can't guarantee that I'll be online at the same time as everyone else, hence why I have put in my Discord and I will update with my Skype when I figure out how to change my name. Looking for RP: General role play. MRP: Mature role play. Willing to explore darker themes. Contacts: I'm generally looking for Ishagrdian Elezen contacts (people she may have come across) to kick off with and go from there. In general though she has been in both Ishgard and Gridania, and teaches on a volunteer basis at St Reinette's. So characters from any walks of life are more than welcome. There are also Sharlayan characters obviously, and those with a general interest in academic pursuits. Medium In Game: Starting Sept 10th. I am currently away from home until then and while I may be in-game I won’t be able to commit to RP on the PC since my boyfriend doesn't have FFXIV. Out of Game Skype: [email protected] or Swanmay (didn't let me use a Skype name for whatever reason) Tumblr: The-Swanmay or Ameline-Valence Discord: Swanmay#4079 (preferred) If you do add me on any of these please drop me a message letting me know who you are first! I've missed a couple of people that way. Style Freestyle: You have no set method in roleplaying. You freely jump from onelining, semi-para, and para with no consistency. One Line: Literally one sentence of post length. Para: Paragraph. Five to six sentences of post length MultiPara: Multiple paragraphs of post length. PTM: Post to match. You’ll match what your partner gives. Generally flexible.
  16. I still can't find the damned magazine... Apparently nowhere in Birmingham city centre carries it and I have tried my two local grocery stores.... :frustrated:
  17. I never expected this to cause so much friction since I don't regularly peruse the SE forums and got this off tumblr. IMO I've never heard of this magazine let alone seen it anywhere for sale. I'll have a look on Thursday at my local Morrisons. It could be good, it could be crap. As long as it's only a few quid I don't really mind... Worst comes to worst I can read it when I go away on Saturday. That being said, I personally don't agree with SE making us UK players pay extra just so we can get what everyone else has! There's no reason we should have to! It's exactly the same with collector's editions! And don't even get me started on the EU vs US Squeenix stores! For years now they have been hiking up the prices for us EU residents and I don't understand it. Why should we have to pay more?
  18. Square Enix has released the info for the summer item campaign that the US and Japan have had previously. All you have to do is buy three magazines and then take a selfie with them for the mount. More info can be found here: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/8b316e1ae99e1807ec6785971c3c16b84020f539
  19. Samurai is a given at this point to be fair. Yoshi-P has stated that he wanted it to be in the last expac so yeah... As for what I personally want...More Doman lore please! Or even better, let us go to Doma in a bid to retake it. Honestly, I think that's wht we're going to start seeing. The Eorzean Alliance (now with added Ishgard!) slowly taking back the territory that the Garlean Empire has seized. Do I think this will go on for a few expansions? Oh yeah! They're probably going to drag it out a bit to fit in other plot lines, but thats okay! More expansions! Jobs wise I'd love to see a new healer. Maybe a dancer or something similar. They can use fans as their weapons and it would be so aestetically gorgeous to see. I know we have plenty of healers already but it's my main role and I love being spoiled for choice. DPS I want to second Red Mage (don't beat me up please!) or Samurai. Tank I have no clue on. I rarely play tank and only really levelled DRK and PLD for the sake of having a well rounded character... What I think will be interesting is what level these new jobs will come in at. The previous expac had them start at 30, so maybe they'll keep it like that or go for 35 to keep the trend with having you half way there already. Lastly, new races. I'd really like to see Viera as they are now. Or at least a less "pretty" and "hyur with animal ears" race. The original designs for the Au Ra were amazing and somewhat monstrous. I want to see them move away from the cute little girl aesthetic. I know it isn't going to happen since they're a Japanese company, but I sincerely hope it will. Anyway...that's my two pence.
