  1. I'm back! Had to deal with a lot of stuff I wish I didn't, but I'm back around and looking for some potential contacts! Most of the stuff from my first post hasn't changed, so if you take a read, let me know and we'll try to work some scenes out! Thanks for reading!
  2. The paper had intrigued her- enough so that she'd actually put off diving into her third pipira of the night long enough to read it. To be quite honest, maybe a little knowledge of what was coming would be quite useful. She'd fold and pocket the paper and try to remember to seek out this small medium sometime in the near future.
  3. So that didn't go as planned- many thanks and good feelings towards everyone who answered, even if I ended up pulling an ostrich and shoving my head into the sand that is the MSQ and the crafting system instead of contacting you (thanks, shyness, please go away now, okay?). So I'm just posting this in case someone out there feels like taking a chance on me as far as roleplaying. I'll be better this time, I promise...
  4. Dear newbie(?) healer in our group running Titan Normal: You're new, we get that. But when Titan rears up and goes for his first Geocrush, please remember not to stand in the red at the very edge of the platform- you know, that bit of the arena that's going to crumble into the abyss, taking you with it? Geocrush is going to hit everybody in the arena, just heal through it and we'll thump him. Also, please don't cuss us out when we tell you not to stand in the red and then proceed to do so two more times after this. It's impossible for a synced party to beat any form of Titan without a healer. We're just trying to help you get the clear, and if you'll just listen to us, we'll get said clear- but I just hope you took the lesson with you when you quit our group to go do something else. I'm kind of torn if you were either just stubborn or being a troll- I'm leaning towards stubborn this time around, mostly because Titan is the first real difficulty spike in the game, and he can be a real pain in the butt if given half a chance. (I ought to know, I hate all three of his forms with a burning passion.) But unless you open up and get an idea as to what you have to do, you'll be stuck here for a while.
  5. The scene? A run through Gubal on normal, facing down the boss of the run. We'd managed to get this far (and seen nothing but MNK armor drop), and I figure that well, the boss isn't that hard (everybody knows the Demon Tome is the hardest fight of the dungeon), and we ought to be out with little fuss. The others seem to know what they're doing, at least- a Black Mage, Astrologian and Warrior rounding out the team. So we commence the fight, and everything goes well- we seal up the first Void Call, and get him down to about thirty percent HP. That's when things go, well... The boss opens up and starts casting a mid-level Void Call (four panels each requiring two or three people to block), and the three of them go to one panel, and me as a solo go to another panel, waiting for two more to join me so we're not drowning in adds. The meter keeps slowly filling, yet nothing's happening- so I look over to the others. They're just standing there, watching the meter fill. I know they know how the fight works- they stopped the first Void Call, and they can see the other portals. But unlike then, they're just doing nothing, and right in the middle of me typing a message telling them to seal the rest of the panels, Void Call goes off, and I immediately get to make a new friend as an add spawns on my shadow and tries to introduce itself by pulling my stomach out through my navel. In the end, though, we did pull it out- even if it was much closer than it should ever have been. What should have been an easy finish turned into one where it looked like we were going to have to pull it out by the skin of our teeth, but lucked out instead. I was a bit peeved, but I left the instance before I said anything I'd really regret. Why in the blazes would you let the boss make the fight any harder than it needs to be? We could have sealed them up and finished the boss- I had a fresh charge of Battle Litany and BotD ready to go. Is there any advantage to letting Void Call go off- some strategy I'm just not seeing? I kind of always think that adds are a bad thing... Another, smaller vent: Why the hell do I get shyness attacks when I try to go RP-ing? There could be a slate of events I want to hit, but it always feels like I manage to talk myself out of going ("Oh, they'll never want to be involved with your character. They'll think your storyline is stupid and not want to play with you. Why not spend the evening crafting and trying to make gil?") and I miss out on stuff like the Crescent pub crawl that I'd been looking forward to for a week. It's so frustrating to see an event that's cool or to make plans with others and then just never let them go anywhere just because of my own insecurities over how they might view Caleria. I know there's at least one person I owe an apology to for that...
  6. 1) Mog Station Outfit 2) Sophic Barding 3) Fenrir Pup 4) Tier 2 Aquarium Thanks for running this!
  7. When will the final list of participating FCs be posted?
  8. The issue I had was that yes, the tank was holding aggro- so much aggro that the healer was having a hard time keeping them alive. I play DRG in that I'm more effective against one mob at a time- I join the tank in beating on whatever mob they've chosen, in order to kill things faster (unless there's something like a nix-type enemy with a huge AoE move that requires a liberal amount of stunning to avoid the run getting all bashed up). DRG doesn't have that much in the way of distance or multi-target attacks (jumps and the lance-throw come to mind for distance, stuff like Ring of Thorns for multi-target), so I'm usually up with the tank taking my lumps and trying to avoid AoEs as best I can. Sometimes I don't get out of the way quick enough; other times the attacks just end up layered in a way that it's impossible to get out of the way in time and you end up getting smacked around. I use the potions to help keep strain off the healer- being able to pop 2400 healing is awfully useful if you're in the thick of it. But if the healer's overwhelmed just trying to keep the tank on their feet, well... 2400 doesn't go very far in some dungeons, especially when you have lots of mobs around. If the tank pulls so many mobs that the healer is having trouble keeping them alive while we try to get the damage under control, I think that's on the tank. It's always been my view that tank pulls mobs, but the healer sets the pace of the run- as DPS, it's my job to just kill whatever the tank's beating on and then move to the next target unless instructed otherwise. There's only so much I can do to peel enemies off the tank if I know I have to watch my HP and the only buff I have is some food I burned for the Vitality bonus (much easier for a healer to cast a Cure II than it is a Raise, yeah?), and DRG is built to go one-by-one, killing single enemies dead instead of just spamming Ring of Thorns until either the tank goes down or we manage to hang on.
  9. Ended up in Keeper of the Lake for a roulette and had, well... a rather trying time. Me as DRG, with a BRD as second DPS, and a couple I can only describe as Zippy the Wonder Tank and his bestest friend Skippy. Both are running lalas and seem to know each other- interacting with emotes, burning pumpkin-head charms, throwing one round of Protect on three of four party members and leaving me out in the cold... First boss comes and go, and our BRD ends up DC'ed, so we votekick. Here's where things start going rather south- Zippy is apparently feeling his oats, so instead of taking five and waiting for a replacement DPS, off zooms Zippy with Skippy right behind him after both pop pumpkinhead charms. We head on up and fight through a couple of groups of mobs by the skin of our teeth, and end up wiping when Skippy feels their oats and double-pulls two bunches of mobs. I start to type after we re-phase in, but Skippy is doing his best Sonic impersonation and I barely have time to refresh my food buff before I have to go bust up mobs to bail him out. We come close to wiping after that, but the arrival of our replacement DPS bails us out. I'm only one DPS, folks... I get right up in there and take my lumps, but there's only so much I can do by myself. Protect and Stoneskin are my best friends, and leaving me without them gives me all the staying power of bathroom tissue in a boss fight., especially if I have to keep popping Mega-Potions just to stay in the fight. I don't like playing chicken with bunches of mobs just because the tank is bouncing around like a sugar-stuffed over-caffinated lalafell and can't take a hint that hey, maybe we ought to take five and wait for another DPS so we're not taking every fight down to the line? Second gripe... I admit that there are some dungeons out there with long movies- but the one kind of jerk I can't stand is anybody who tries to votekick a newbie who's watching the movies in Castrum Meridianum and the Praetorium on their very first time through. For the love of Eorzea, they'll have enough time to speedrun the whole place later and we're all so overgeared that we might just scuff our armor on the Ultima Weapon. Let her watch the damned cutscenes if she wants- you only get one first time through the MSQ, and throw her a commendation or two at the end because your first time through deserves it. Some of us like following the story instead of just watching numbers bounce around.
  10. Caleria's is easy- give her a nice, big tub of hot water and assorted bath stuff and you won't see her for most of the day. Light forbid she ever discovers a hot spring resort... she'll never leave and end up a wet, wrinkly furball. "Uhm... miss? It's time to get out, we have to clean the bath..." "No! I'll poke you! Go away!"
  11. 1b74YehJMEQ Ran across this one and immediately tagged it as an inspiration song.
  12. Thanks to everyone who posted! I ought to be getting in contact at some point soon (provided the weather behaves...)!
  13. Introduction: Heya! Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'm pretty sure you've seen me posting a bit- getting help with my character background, banging away at my wiki page (now in some semblance of order), and writing to fill months-old RP prompts- I'm looking forward to meeting some of you out there, hopefully! But first, a little about me: - Been role-playing for a long while, been writing fiction for about that same while- have some experience over with WoW, Champions, and a few other games I just tried for a month or two. - My playtime is usually consistent- usually late afternoon to possibly all night Eastern U.S. time (I work really odd hours...), but I'll play when I get the time, whenever I get it! If I can't get on for a scheduled play, I'll try to let you know via PM! You can reach me either in-game or through here- I'll always check here before I go into the game! - I'm good doing anything from para to multi-para, provided you don't start giving me grief if it takes a few minutes to type up everything; along the same lines, don't expect me to write a multi-paragraph post over something like just opening a door. Give me something to work with, yeah? At the same time, it's okay to use a few lines if they'll suffice. Who wants to wait in a tavern? - There will be times when I just don't feel up for roleplay; but instead want to go stomp on things PvE style until they stop moving. Please understand that sometimes I just want to go and level and play, yeah? I'm still not max level, so please bear with me? - I like pretty much all kinds of RP- one-offs, short term, long-term- but please just make it clear what you're interested in and we can go from there, yeah? Please be up-front about it; where do you want the story to go? - Caleria has an overarching plot planned for her about the loss of her memory and her work to regain it. This will take a long time, and you don't have to be involved in it if you don't want to be. Honestly, I'd love if she could find one or more people to help her out- support her, point her in the right direction, maybe give her a talk when she needs it- and if needed, it could happily go both ways- Caleria supports her friends! Character Overview: Caleria Amih - check the wiki page if you need to know more! Possible Plot Hooks: - Casual! Maybe Caleria is just getting a drink after a long day of working, and you come on over and say hello? - Working... Caleria's picking up a new line of work, and she could use a teacher. Maybe you take her underneath your wing? - Patrolling! Maybe you're out there and in trouble, somewhere in the Shroud, and Caleria ends up pulling your bacon out of the fire? - Got an idea of your own? Let me hear it! You're part of the story too, yeah? Notes and Other Stuff: - I enjoy romantic RP as much as the next person, but let's keep OOC and IC stuff separate, yeah? If things work out, they work out, if they don't, they don't. If you're just looking for ERP just because you want ERP, you might look elsewhere, too- not that I'm against it, but it's not the be-all-end-all (I'm also perfectly happy with fades to black, too). I imagine elezen, miqo'te, hyur and female Au Ra might have decent luck... - If you'd like to know more about her long-term plot, drop me a message! I'll tell you what I've got so far, and if you'd like to be part of it, we can work it out! - I'm hoping someone will take a chance and ask me to be part of their story- maybe it'll be you?
  14. Caleria Amih

    Yo

Any start is a great start- the more you play the character, the more you'll learn about them, and the more they'll develop with exposure and use. You might find things that would go great with your character idea, other things not so much- feel free to change things around! Read up on lore, read others' character sheets, read lots of other things, play through some public RP events, and find out your likes and dislikes. Ideas can come from anywhere- I tend to keep a little notepad full of potential character ideas, and some days it's worth it to just brainstorm. Never, ever, ever think one of your ideas is not worth your time- there aren't any stupid stories out there, just stories that are waiting for their time. Never be ashamed of doing the same type of storyline as someone else- everybody puts their own spin on every interaction- stories are like people: no two are ever exactly the same, and even the slightest difference can lead you off somewhere you've never expected. All you have to do is get out there and play!
  15. Oh, look who finally remembered to get her pictures back from the MoogleMart one-hour photo drop-off! "...so what? I deserve a lazy day every once in a while, too! ...uggggh, fine... but there better be something in it for me if you want me in my armor..." "There.... or is this just more stuff I've had lying around in the knee-deep slog of stuff I keep in my inn room? *sigh* ...I really need some armor dummies and the like... and more boxes..."
  16. Basic Info: Characters: Caleria Amih Primary Character: Caleria Amih Linkshells: N/A Primary RP Linkshell: N/A RP Style: Amount of RP: Medium to Heavy It honestly depends on the RP- if I'm really into it, I could type a lot- other times it might be something casual or something. Views on RP Combat/Injuries: There's magical healing and potions all around. While injuries might still happen, they really should only be played until magic or healing makes them go away. As far as combat, there's room for both roll-based and story at the table. It just depends on what way you want to go with- some times you get lucky, other times you get stomped. Views on IC Romance: I see it as something that could really improve it- as long as both understand a few things- A) IC feelings =/= OOC feelings. Please, try to keep them separate? B) Crushes are okay- you might like her, but she might not like you back; on the other hand, she might like you, and it's okay not to like her back. C) Be up front with what your character would want out of it- a short-term thing, something long-term, whatever- it'll help keep us on the same page! Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc.): You have to have friends, allies- I highly doubt that she'll run into family members on her journey, but solid allies and friends are always welcome! Views on lore: I've tried to build everything I can to adhere to all known lore (thanks to everyone who helped me hammer out my character background and stuff!), but I still don't know everything- but I just ask that you try to keep things as close as possible, and call me out if I wander too far away from it! Views on chat functions: I usually prefer /say and /emote for my play. Other Info: Country: United States Time Zone: Eastern Daylight (-4 UTC, GMT -4) Contact Info: You can find me here, or shoot me a message in-game!
  17. I could see Caleria packing an Escavalier as a companion. They like to poke things to attack them, she likes to poke things to attack them, and both have somewhat stylish sets of steel armor to protect them. As far as the rest of her team, well... I could see her with a Ferrothorn (incorporates her love of the Gridanian forest where she spends most of her time battling the beast tribes and keping people safe), as well as a Steelix that she uses when the subtle approach just doesn't seem to be working. Secretly, though, she trains a Dedenne because of just how cute she finds it when it uses its Nuzzle attack... As far as her job, I could see her as a Steel-type gym worker or leader.
  18. Let's see... Caleria's foods would be: -Sweet Chestnut: A spiky shell covers a sweet interior, especially when baked- much like Caleria herself. -Cheese Pizza: Caleria doesn't know her past, so it could be anything- much like how you could top a cheese pizza with literally anything else.
  19. 1) Ramie Poncho 2) Tier 4 Aquarium 3) Shaggy Stoat Thanks for doing this!
  20. As far as her true identity, well... I've come up with two ideas that both might be kind of do-able, but again, I'd love some feedback on both to see how viable they might be. I kicked these around for a number of hours, and out of the bunch I came up with, they're the two that sound the most plausible. I couldn't exactly use Gridania- after so many years there, somebody would have recognized her by now. Limsa was a distant third, and Ishgard fourth- given that I don't think Ishgard had forces committed to the battle at the Calamity. I could be dead wrong, though... A) The smell of the pipira triggered her memory because of scavenging through an Ul'dah alleyway behind a restaurant for food- a small place that had the pipira as its specialty- leading on a merry way through more memories and false starts and dead ends that eventually leads her back to the land of sand and gold to find she really was nothing but a street rat- before this whole mess, she'd been nothing more than a homeless girl, scrabbling for a bit of gil, enough to eat, and a warm place to sleep for the night. When the Calamity came calling and every single force was needed, she threw her lot in with the Immortal Flames, and ended up doing her best to fight the Garleans- only to cut and run as everything went to blazes. Shucking her given armor as she ran, she only paused long enough to grab a set of discarded Twin Adder armor and a spear that happened to be buried in a dead Garlean in case she had to fight her way out- and that was when everything went boom thanks to Louisoux and the intense amount of magic and power flying around. Magic blasted her back, she landed hard enough to hit her head, and the overall experience contributed to a serious case of trauma-induced amnesia. Her real name? Unknown, but known to some of the other homeless as "Scratch". I feel this one could lead to her developing as a character by realizing that even though she started out as nothing, look at what she'd been able to accomplish by her pushing herself in looking for her identity- she'd become a skilled lancer, as well as picked up a lot of other life experience in the hunt- raising herself out of the gutter and standing on her own feet. B) It wasn't so much the fish as it was the garlic that was added to it. It was strong, Garlean garlic- a smell that stirs memories that she might not want stirred up after all. Mostly because it would reveal that hiding beneath the surface is a story that began years ago on a continent a long, long way away- under the name of Marsaili aan Aconia. Born to garlic farmers in a country long conquered by the Empire, she was put through the same thing as other conscripts- taken at a young age, worked through the military complex until she was just another soldier seeking a higher societial rank by putting in her years. She was attached as a spearman (I forget what the term is for the spear units) to the ill-fated Seventh, and when things started going all topsy-turvy at the end of the Calamity- the clashing of the magical energy against the incoming primal energy of Bahamut did a lot of things- but the one thing it did was disrupt the magic that kept her loyal to the Empire- right before everything went to blazes and most of the Seventh was wiped out in the resulting blast. Marsaili was blasted away, her armor torn from her body, and her unconscious body found among the remains of a supply wagon, slumped over an iron spear that was assumed to be hers. What would happen if her memories as Caleria were to suddenly intersect with her memories as Marsaili? How loyal to the Empire is Marsaili still (kind of, but...), and just would it do to her to know what she'd done beforehand? The struggle to connect everything would be enjoyable to write- just how much of her actions as Marsaili could be balanced out as Caleria, and while others may forgive her, the question becomes if she could ever forgive herself... I could see this line going as finding out that maybe some memories are meant to stay buried, but then rising above her deeds of the past through her actions in the present- hopefully with the help of those close to her, if she finds any friends. There's always the potential of those born in darkness to blossom in the light. You'll notice that neither ending has her really as important as she is now- she's not the long-lost daughter of anybody important, rich, or powerful. She's not anything more or less than what she started as- the only real things she would gain out of it are a deeper appreciation for what she has and a newfound purpose to keep going on to bigger and better things. As for the original Caleria? A Hume spearwoman from a smaller town in Ul'dah- all her family knows is that she's missing and presumed dead after the Calamity, not knowing their daughter's spear ended up in the hands of an amnesiac Miqo'te. Maybe someday she'll return the spear to them... it could make for a bit of roleplaying, I guess. Anyways, as always, I'm open to suggestions and criticism on either of these- if you see something that might not work, please speak up and let me know! Thanks for the help, no matter how badly you rip it apart!
  21. 1) Expeditioner's Set (Female) 2) Plush Cushion 3) Orchestrion 4) Toy Box 5) Wind-up Shiva 6) Wind-Up Leviathan 7) High House Cloche 8) Stuffed Mandragora Queen 9) Expeditioner's Set (Male) Thank you for running this!
  22. I guess you could call this v1.01 of her backstory- I'll italicize where the changes were made, and we can see how that reads while I work on her true past. Birth through Calamity (about 16, maybe 18 years of age): She doesn't recall one whit of these. Currently, her memory begins when she woke up in the Carline Canopy in Gridania after Dalamud's fall, clutching an old iron spear and torn-up armor- unable to recall anything much beyond that she didn't want to let go of the spear. The name engraved upon the spear was the name they decided to call her- Caleria Amih. It's unknown if this is her real name, but... she eventually decided to just go with it after people kept calling her by it. She doesn't even know when her name day is, but settled on her current one just to have one. Trying to think back to the time before Dalamud's fall gives her a migraine- if there's anything there, it's not wanting to come out. Training (Age 18 - 20) Seeking some semblance of normalcy in her life, Caleria sought instruction in the use of the lance she'd awakened with- figuring maybe if she worked with it, it might provoke memories to come forth. No memories came forth, but something else did- she enjoyed working and fighting with the spear, so much that she decided to pursue it while looking for something, anything that might trigger a memory- and allowed her to spend time wandering the Black Shroud, fighting the beast tribes and helping to keep the city safe while trying to jog her memory. Eventually, she decided that since she'd not gotten any jolt of memory from lancing, she'd dip into other jobs- figuring that there had to be something, anything out there that might remind her of who she was. She tried everything in Gridania- being unsuccessful in unlocking anything further, she started to believe that the city held no further answers for her- and decided to make plans to travel to other lands, to see if new sights and sounds would do anything. Traveling (Age 20 - 23, current day) Caleria has launched forays into Limsa Lominsa, and tried her hands at many things- finally finding one nugget of memory- the smell of freshly braised pipira. The aroma is familiar, just... there's something inside that tells her this is familiar, this is something you like... but again, the memories just have not wanted to come out. At least it was a start- but as much as Caleria wanted to stay and chase it, her money was still running out, and by then it was time to return to Gridania. After another year of research and gil-scrimping so that she could save, she again went back to Limsa- and left only a few days after she got there upon hearing that the braised pipira that really focused her attention was the way that the chef had learned in Ishgard. So Caleria went north, and ended up staying there for longer than she'd anticipated. While there, she frequently ventured out to test her strength on the local wildlife, doing much the same as she'd done in Gridania- doing her part to keep the roads clear and travelers safe, even while she'd do research. Though the lead seemed to peter out, over time, she did make an impression with her lance skills- though it took two trips from Gridania and many months of work to be able to afford two stays there of any length. Though it seems the trip was wasted as far as her memory, the battles only served to hone her edge further. Recently, though, her travels have led her possibly back to Limsa- if it's not the place the dish was born, perhaps it was the place she smelled it at... it's not much to go on, she knows, but any lead is better than nothing. Maybe, along the way, she'll find something else that bring a memory back... Thanks for your help so far- I'll post up what I have of her true past in a few hours- or when I get it done!
  23. See, this is why I needed help with this, because I would have missed that kind of thing. First off, thanks for helping me with it! To address the points- I guess close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades... at least I was close, yeah? I'll change that right away. Same with the dragoon bit- I'll save the dragoon stuff for the PvE stuff- you're absolutely right that she could stay a lancer and still be just as good. I'll rework that bit.
  24. Not being overly familiar with the lore, I figured that it's high time I hammer some sort of sense into Caleria's backstory- and get it to a state where I'm not only happy with it, but it doesn't really step on too many toes lore-wise. Let me put up what I have so far, and maybe somebody could give me a nudge in the right direction as to things I could include. No memories came forth, but something else did- she enjoyed working and fighting with the spear, so much that she decided to pursue it while looking for something, anything that might trigger a memory- and allowed her to spend time wandering the Blackwood, fighting the beast tribes and helping to keep the city safe while trying to jog her memory. Eventually, she decided that since she'd not gotten any jolt of memory from lancing, she'd dip into other jobs- figuring that there had to be something, anything out there that might remind her of who she was. Though the lead seemed to peter out, over time, she did make an impression with her lance skills- though it took two trips from Gridania and many months of work. Recently, she was taken in for dragoon training- perhaps one of many outlanders, but she has worked hard at both training and being accepted by the others as one of them. Recently, though, her travels have led her possibly back to Limsa- if it's not the place the dish was born, perhaps it was the place she smelled it at... it's not much to go on, she knows, but any lead is better than nothing. Maybe, along the way, she'll find something else that bring a memory back... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's about as much as I have planned out- admittedly, it is kind of short compared with some of the novels I've seen, but I think less is more- it allows me some wiggle room if I need it, too. I will admit that it's not echo or Warrior-of-Light related, too- I didn't want to bring in any of the main plot and make it too Mary Sue-ish. The overall backstory is meant to set up a young lancer searching out anything that might be able to sound out who she really is- as well as allow me to make adjustments on the way to her story's conclusions if needed. I wanted a story that would give me the freedom of being able to not only work with others and their stories, but also to change something in RP if it just wasn't clicking with everything else. I admit the pipira isn't the strongest link, but I had to get Caleria to Ishgard somehow to explain her dragoon training, and it seemed to be the best way- something triggering a memory that would get her to Ishgard. Anyways, I'm open for criticism- what sounds good, what sounds weak, what do I need to change for a better story? I'm all ears!
  25. Well, I did transfer over a while ago, and I have been meaning to finally dip my toes in to some roleplaying around here... so why not? I've been lurking for a while, mostly looking at RP events I never seem to end up going to or tips on how to be a better roleplayer, but I figure it's high time I hammered out some backgrounds and got my feet wet- though I'm a bit nervous because it's my first RP character on FFXIV and I really don't want to step on people's toes and get called out on lore-screwups or something. As for me? --MMORPG background - Some WoW, some Champions, pretty much dabbled in most of everything until I found some good fits for me. --RP experience - A good bit in WoW, some message board and chat online, also some tabletop experience (Pathfinder, etc.) --Character ideas/info - Currently I just have Caleria, but there's one more waiting in the wings, just needing a backstory and a past... --How did you learn about the coalition? - I searched the Google for things about FFXIV roleplaying, and this place popped up. --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? - Medium to heavy. I don't mind immersion, but I'm also not 100% on the lore yet, and I really don't want to screw up while playing... --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) - I write fiction from time to time, and honestly, FFXIV looks to be pretty inspiring in that department!
