The door to the Drowing Wench swung open, the bald man's head poking in, his body following behind, encased in a long coat that hid the many daggers that lined his belt. His eyes scanned about, finger playing at his pocket, the smooth handle of one of his longer knives sitting comfortably within. Wrapped within a bag placed inside the opposite pocket as a bag, its coins jingling, the noise catching the attention of several nearby. His lifted his eyes, looking about. The faces of money-hungry men were all around. Exactly what he wanted to see. He held off the impulse to begin paying them off, instead moving to a table, his narrow but muscular frame sliding into one of the chairs. His eyes lit up as his hands moved onto the table. "Time for a drink."

I watched and episode of Iron Chef and the Futurama episode 30% Iron Chef right before initiating this craziness

The sous-chef waved towards the nearest competitor, a man standing only five foot five but as wide as a wall. Wearing a pear of black spectacles and with tanned features, he was garbed in little more than a blue mawashi. "For the Blue Team, specializing in the art of Sumo Cooking, "ASA AKINORI!" He then turned to a man dressed in all red armor, face covered by a helmet. "And here, representing the red team, is knightly Daman Kara!" From nowhere a blast of black smoke arose from one of the cooking stations, a man garbed all in black appearing, his face hidden all except for his eyes. "Representing the black team and ninjitsu chefs everywhere, Oda Shingen!" Finally, the sous-chef waved towards a competitor adorned a bronze helmet and breastplate, with grieves to match. "And finally, the spartan cook king, Aetos Manis!" The head chef leapt to the top of a table, turning his butcher's knife towards Katt. "CHALLENGER! You have one hour to prepare a three course meal consisting of an appetizer, main course and dessert! You may use any of the ingredients we have wheeled here before you!" He waved the knife towards the bar, where platters of ingredients lay in wait, some chilled via conjuration to keep them frozen. "The judging will be done by a panel of my choosing! And finally, sabotage of your enemies is completely within the rules! ARE YOU READY!?

(For simplicity sakes let's say that they're within swimming distance.. but far enough that it would keep things tense between them and the guards)
