[align=left]MercWork is a linkshell created for people who: 

 

* Have a desire to run mercenary/sellword styled contract-events [/align]

[align=left]* Are interested in helping events by playing as an NPC 

* Have a character that is a mercenary/sellsword and wishes to roleplay more on this lifestyle 

* Have a character that is likely to send out contracts now and then, and wishes to roleplay more on this aspect. 

 

MercWork is not a Free Company, and all events will be open to all that fit the bill, regardless of which organisation they might come from. 

MercWork will operate in both EU and NA time-zones, depending on who is creating the event. [/align]

 

[align=left]With MercWork, the vision is to make creating, aiding and partaking in mercenary events as easy as possible, through several means: 

- Linkshell chat: For brainstorming, feedback and organizing events. General chitchat is also welcome. 

- Google Docs: A great way to collaborate, with google docs we hope to establish a list of players who can be contacted to play NPC's (as well as noting which kind of NPC theyre comfortable with playing), a list of event-types that can be used for inspiration & information about ongoing events. [/align]

- This thread, for announcing events and obviously for picking up people who are interested. 

 

Rules and guidelines: 

 

[align=left]Events: 

- Should always be announced in this thread by one of it's organizers, with all relevant information or a link to a google docs that compile it. 

- Should seek to establish which fighting style will be used in any of the events combat situations, such as freeform emoting, roll-emote or a third type. 

- If there's a limit on how many people can sign up, this must be noted. 

 

Linkshell: 

- Be nice and respectful towards other people 

- Leave drama at the door 

- If you sign up for an event, try to be there on time and give a notice if you can't make it, if this is at all possible. 

- If discussions heat up, take it to whispers. [/align]

[align=left]- You may join the LS on your alts too, but if it gets too full you may be asked to drop an alt out.

I'm not a very active RP'er and I'm uncertain if I'll even RP my mercenary character out in public(by that I mean with anyone other than my friend) really, largely down to shyness and also because it's not a character I want to imagine gets defeated rather easily which I assume might be an issue in this neck of the woods, haha.

 

 

If that doesn't bother you then I'd definitely be interested in grabbing a spot ^^   My character is inactive outside of Cackpot logins for the time being as I am getting a new character to end-game, so if you do decide to send an invite then please send a tell to either:

 

K'nahli Yohko or

K'taynu Tia

 

(If messaging me is a problem then no worries, I'll try to keep an eye out for a reply here!)

Our first MercWork contract event was a success!

Two bandits were captured & surrendered to brassies, one was decapitated and one got away! 

Will they get out and cause more fuss in the future? Who knows!

Trying to gauge some interest for an event next week, 24/4 at 7PM GMT.

 

The Kindred, a company of mercenaries will call combatants hither to aid them in a cause in Ishgard; assisting a friend of the Kindred in unveiling an artifact which may be of use to Ishgard. After the recent attack on the Steps of Faith, Ishgard can scarce spare knights in a cause which might be a hoax. How can one tell with those Midlanders of foreign lands?

 

There'll be combat involved. Lots of it.

Wounds will -not- be forced upon your characters, such is entirely up to the player.

Rolls will not be used; only free form. I trust the players are able to RP out their characters' abilities appropriately.

 

Public event, all are welcome.

Just trying to estimate how many'll participate, so I can get a feel of the amount of GMs required.
