ShoggMommy Posted May 22, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 22, 2015 *Raises hand* I'm a cosplayer. Getting ready for a current costume myself. Hopefully next year I'll be able to play my miqo'te alchemist. Link to comment
Sailor July Posted May 22, 2015 Share #3 Posted May 22, 2015 Not yet! But it's on my To-Do list. So far, I plan on cosplaying as... Human Applejack from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (and others from MLP:FiM) L from Death Note. Mako from Kill la Kill. Human Navi from The Legend of Zelda. Vash The Stampede from Trigun. Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Link to comment
Gegenji Posted May 22, 2015 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2015 I cosplayed... once. For an Otakon convention for one year. I went as a Left 4 Dead Hunter, and it was quite fun. L4D was still pretty big at the time (L4D2 was either out or about to release), so there was even a photo op group of people in L4D costumes. Favorite moment was being on the second floor and someone on the first floor pointing me out and screaming "HUNTER!" To which I shrieked and charged for the escalator, down to the first floor, and mock-pounced them. Had a few pictures taken. Good fun. I just don't go to conventions enough, nor am I "hip" enough on what's popular these days, to really do any more cosplay. Plus I think I'd screw up any costume that wasn't either made for me or horrendously simple - the Hunter outfit was just hoodie, pants, and liberal use of duct tape. Link to comment
KHMarie Posted May 22, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2015 I've done a few cosplays in the past, no really new ones recently. But my last one was Xion from Kingdom Hearts which I put together two years ago but redid last year: Link to comment
Kaniko Niko Posted May 24, 2015 Share #6 Posted May 24, 2015 Been going to conventions since Otakon 2006. This year's Otakon will technically be my tenth! My TENTH! At any rate, I haven't done any FFXIV cosplays. Though I have at numerous points did Gunner!Yuna and Yuffie Kisaragi. This year I'm planning on Stocking Anarchy again as well as GODBERT MANDERVILLE. Costume spoilered for obscene gesture. I cannot stress how much I hate the Baltimore humidity and what it does to makeup. Link to comment
Faye Posted May 24, 2015 Share #7 Posted May 24, 2015 I cosplay a bit! Amy Sorel (Soul Calibur) Aqua (Kingdom Hearts) Mabel Pines (Gravity Falls) Currently putting together a Miqo'te WHM cosplay for Colossalcon in a couple weeks 2 Link to comment
Warren Castille Posted May 24, 2015 Share #8 Posted May 24, 2015 I've cosplayed as Steiner at Otakon. It was fairly successful, though the armor didn't survive the trip. Tempted to commission new, better, sturdier stuff. Link to comment
Naunet Posted May 25, 2015 Share #9 Posted May 25, 2015 I used to cosplay, but then I became poor. Now I'm still poor but I really wanted to cosplay. Here's Twinflame and I at Comicpalooza this weekend. I don't usually post pictures of myself on the internet because that feels weird. But there ya go. I'm the Raava! Link to comment
Aaron Posted May 25, 2015 Share #10 Posted May 25, 2015 I cosplayed Grimmjow from bleach one time ever. Was pretty cool. This year I figured id do it again. Im going as a Yharnam hunter. Link to comment
allgivenover Posted May 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted May 25, 2015 I used to cosplay tons. Not so much in recent years. Here's a few I've done. I've cosplayed a ton more than this but I'm extremely lazy about tending my online cosplay presence. Link to comment
Marisa Posted May 25, 2015 Share #12 Posted May 25, 2015 Can't provide any pictures right this second, but I've made costumes for Malzahar from League of Legends, a Witch Hunter from Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, and Hildibrand from FFXIV. I just started working on this version of Dio Brando, which will be the first time I'll have ever done an anime character. I'm not very fond of eva foam, so I'll be using Kydex for the bracers and breastplate. It's the same material I make my gun and knife sheaths out of, and I honestly don't know why more people don't use it for costumes. It's cheaper, stronger, and easier to use than eva foam. Aduu Avagnar Posted June 7, 2015 Share #15 Posted June 7, 2015 I've cosplayed as Steiner at Otakon. It was fairly successful, though the armor didn't survive the trip. Tempted to commission new, better, sturdier stuff. If I ever cosplaya s someone in armour, I'm just going to get some LARP quality stuff made up. May as well purpose it for both hobbies. Orlog Posted June 8, 2015 Share #16 Posted June 8, 2015 I'll admit, when I was a wee tot I went to ACEN and cosplayed for a good solid 5 years, I think. I had a great cosplay partner at the time that would constantly try to push my boundaries because we had a bit of a competitive relationship. She'd pull out some crazy, so of course, I had to do something even better. My favorite and last costume was a heavily styled Amano Freya Crescent. The amount of tiny details I ended up working onto it was crazy. I look at pictures of it now and wonder how I managed it. AND I actually sculpted the helmet out of chicken, hot glue and some kind of velvet fabric. My fingers were sore for daaaays. I'd probably like to get back into it at some point. Costume making is really a lot of, and I only just started working on props at the end of my cosplay stay. I have big dreams of some day doing a full on Sister of Battle. Link to comment
