A tall and imposing-looking Highlander can be seen hanging the above flier amidst the three city-states. He wears retainer's attire and holds a polite, stoic, and otherwise unflappable expression. If one were to inquire as to the nature of his advertised event, he would reply as follows:

"Indeed. The Rendezvous Host Club will be running a public auction within our estate, located within the Eighth Ward of The Goblet, in Plot Thirteen. There will be no admission fee, and any are welcome to arrive and bid accordingly. Any winning bidders will receive their item in exchange for the promised bid immediately after the bidding closes for the item in question.

I believe it will be a relatively uncomplicated affair, and the items will be opened at values far below the Marketplace books. One list of items will be auctioned on the last day of this week, and the other will be auctioned on the first day of the next."

He then turns to tack a list of "luxury items" onto the board beneath the flier, displaying the alleged objects that will be auctioned off:

After posting, he bows to you and says, "We would be honored by your presence." With that, he steps away to post the next flier.

We decided to run a different sort of public event this time, holding an item auction at our estate! The exciting thing? All items will start at approximately half their MB value (as of my checking them today, 6.6.15.) In other words, if your bid is relatively uncontested, you could buy something and turn around and sell it for full value at a profit, if you so pleased! Or you could buy it at a lower rate for yourself, or as a gift for an IC special someone. (To provide an example, the Plumes of the Vortex bidding would start at 700k, as opposed to the Marketboard value of 1.4 million, and so on.) Anything marked with a * will be the HQ version of that item.

The main idea is to have fun RPing with this! As you see above, Maia doesn't really have the first idea what these items actually are, so I hope to have some entertaining banter throughout each day as well. We're hoping to renovate some of the rooms in the basement of our Host Club, provide additional uniforms and dyes to our new members, and perhaps add more private rooms accessible for public purposes with the raised funds.

We'll be hosting this in the Goblet, Ward 8, Plot 13. The front door will be open for people to freely gather inside, and the bidding will happen in Room 006 of the estate. Please /yell your bids so they're not lost in the ambient RP emotes! We will be linking all items throughout the auction, and we will be trading the items for payment immediately after the bid for that item is over.

Day 1's items will be sold on Saturday, June 6th, starting at 4:00 PM CST/5:00 EST.

Day 2's items will be sold on Sunday, June 7th, starting at 3:00 PM CST/4:00 EST.

Please let me know if there are any questions! Hope to see some people there for IC auction funtimes!

Edit: I've heard that for some people, some of the names are replaced with auto-links to the item in question. If this is a widespread issue, I'll redo the links so that it only links to a picture of the item, rather than a website that details the item name & description!

This sounds like a great night out.  Maybe this time I'll get to win that Talking Chocobo!

We hope to make it reasonably fun and entertaining! Follow your dreams, little lalafell!

I need to get 35 of those 1/35 Soldiers so I can finally make a soldier all my own.

Heh, I was pretty young when I first played FF6, so I actually thought it was possible to collect the other 34 soldier parts to make a full soldier. Imagine my frustration!

This looks like it could be fun! I'll be sure to be there.

Fantastic, sir! We'll look forward to seeing you! :moogle:

On a more general note: we're currently trying to figure out the exact location of the Auction within our estate. We're toggling between the stair area (which, unfortunately, doesn't allow items on the lower platform), or recreating a more suitable and detailed "Auction House" room within our estate. I'll comment and edit the original post in large letters when we figure out this detail!

( The 1/35 Soldier was a FF7 item. I believe the one in FF6 was the 1/64 Model Airship, but I could be mistaken. ;) )

That's what I meant! It was some sort of fraction of an item! My video game memorization skills are pretty well awful.

But at least I remember the big stuff, like how Sephiroth killed Celes in Mount Ordeals!

I'm surprised I remembered either item, actually. It's been ages since I played through those games.

I MIGHT be interested in those final items (though I'm certain I likely can't afford them), so I might swing by to see how the auctions are going. Not sure which character, though. Maybe OOCly with Gogon. V:DV

You'd be welcome to, Gegenji! And I don't even mind if people just want to come by and RP going to an auction, even if they don't want to bid on anything themselves! But I tried to have something in all price ranges, so that everyone could participate who wanted to!

And thank you, Ha'uruh! ^^

As a side note, we decided to build a room within the estate for this Auction. There are several nods to the original inspiration (Jidoor's auction house) within, so I'm really looking forward to hosting it there! It'll be Room 006! :moogle:

Thank you to everyone who came to today's auction! It was about 2 1/2 hours, so people can feel free to come and go as they please for tomorrow's!

Many of the items sold for well below Marketboard value (some even selling for their starting bid), so if you'd like to snag some deals (again, even if it's to just turn around and resell it yourself), please don't hesitate to stop by our Sunday event! ^^

Again, it is taking place in room 006, and will start at 3:00 CST / 4 EST! Looking forward to another fun time!

It'd be great to see you there, Clio! (But if it's any consolation, the Pillow Minion was one of the few things that sold for around Marketboard value yesterday, heh. xD; )

It starts in about an hour! Hooray! :moogle:

It's okay, Clio! Thank you for the interest, regardless! :moogle:

For anyone who may be curious how the event went, I'd say it went very well, and I had a few laughs on both days for various reasons! We managed to raise 5,069,403 toward FC/LS funds, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who came out to ICly participate in any way!

It was a bit of an experimental endeavor, so I learned a few Do's and Don't's as well. Such is the case in trying new things! If this ever happens again, I'll have learned and will be able to produce an even better version of it!

In the meantime, thank you all again and see you at our monthly Host Club in the interim!
