Oli! Posted September 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2015 I know the game has a special font that it uses to make things appear like another language, even though the words used are all in English. At least from what I've seen in other places. That said, let's see if we can translate the Demon Tome. Link to comment
Sounsyy Posted September 5, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2015 Eorzean isn't too difficult if the lettering isn't blurry. I'll take a stab at it when I get off work. Interestingly, someone on tumblr just translated the demon tome from Gubal's 2nd boss and the words are in Dragonspeak! I'll try to post that up in a couple hours as well. But yes, even if the book turns out to be in another language, the words are all real words and not just random lettering. Even arcanist books can be read if you squint hard enough. Link to comment

Zelmanov Posted September 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 5, 2015 There were a few questions about it on the official forums, basically it amounts to Gibberish or some sort of demonspeak that is truly ancient. Link to comment
Altitis Acquired Posted September 5, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 5, 2015 What does the Demon Tome say? RING DING DING DING RING DING DING RING DING DING DING RING DING DING RING DING DING DING RING DING DING ... Sorry. Link to comment
Aysun Posted September 5, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 5, 2015 Interestingly this transcription came across my dash today. There's speculation that it may be Dravanian, not just gibberish. For your future reference also. 1 Link to comment

This text is written in Dragonspeak. Coincidentally, this is also the same text as the book for the 2nd Boss in The Great Gubal Library. Already cross-checked. What does it mean? No clue. There's a lot of talk of death. (Morn = Death? if I remember correctly?) Atomos is mentioned twice. EDIT: Bunch of folks beat me to it. LOL. 1 Link to comment

Sylentmana Posted September 8, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 8, 2015 I thought the Demon Tome would say something like, "Feed me the lost souls of orphaned children...or cookies." Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted September 8, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 8, 2015 Or, considering it's a reused asset from the 2nd fight, Fuck Ifrit x 9000 Link to comment
