In Tumblr roleplay, a lot of folks used real life pictures of celebrities, well-known or obscure, past and present, to put a face to their character.

 

We have seen who has your character's personality, who would be their voice actor, but what about aesthetically? Who could possibly portray the looks of your character and what features are prominent that make this particular person ideal for them.

 

For example, I chose Jada Pinkett Smith for Rivienne. She has that half-lidded look with striking eyes, which is a seductive look as it is dangerous ( Gotham! Phew). Her skin tone is right on the money.

Miss Taylor Momsen! Took me about.. well, 4+ years to find someone who I thought would work for Aysun and this girl fits the bill. Lips, eyes shape, etc. (Also sings like I'd imagine Aysun would). Would need to curl her hair though! xD

[align=center][align=left]Though about it for a while and did some hardcore Google Fu, and I'm pretty sure Scarlett Johansson comes closest to a faceclaim for Xheja. Granted, her skin tone is the complete opposite of Xheja's.. But her facial structure and build is pretty much spot-on.

For R'tali it'd probably have to be Luke Pasqualino! He always looks like he's up to something, and he has just the right amount of bratty-adult-ness to fit the bill.

I am not familiar with actors really at all, so I found a match only through some serious Googling and whatnot.

 

I found this guy, who is really, really close. The actor is Dennis Oh, and I have never seen any of his movies or whatnot, but the images I see are pretty close.

 

Titor is supposed to be sort of Khazakh in the real-world ethnicity, but if anything he looks more like a mixed Asian race. Dennis Oh is half Korean half Caucasian, so he seems to fit the part in appearance.

This art is the way that I envision his facial structure mostly.

Well, Yvelont's has already been pointed out to me when a random passer-by told me "O_O You look like Superman."

Henry Cavill, mainly the noise and set of his jaw.. his profile, overall. I think Yvelont's is pretty striking, mostly by accident, and after I looked at it, I found the resemblance is fairly strong.

I'm so torn on face claims. I like to think faolan is only attractive in a weird way, but I also like to draw a lot. So I need someone I can get a lot of references of, that fits the character. And I imagine just finding some person's facebook and using them as reference wouldn't go over so well, pahahaha. I love seeing all the unique face-claims people come up with. I wish I was good at finding suitable dopplegangers.

 

So that leaves me with actors and models. I chose a model for faolan, as I find many models are not attractive in the conventional sense so much as they are interesting to look at.

 

So I don't know. I'll just say Sean O'Pry if he got hit in the face with a shovel or something. It's really the eyes that strike me as Faolan.

In attempting to do research for this prompt, I realized that my intended character appearance doesn't match any celebrity I've ever seen. Naturally, this gives me massive hipster cred but also kind of bums me out because there's no single person who would serve as a really good reference for this.

 

I will say that T'rahnu is meant to have some pretty strong Mongolian features (straight, prominent nose with a recessed bridge, wide-set slanted eyes, highly neotenous features in general), which aren't exactly considered attractive by a wide range of people like the... Caucasian actors posted in this thread.

 

Her EVE Online version is the closest to how I see her in my head. Good luck finding a celebrity who strongly resembles that!

Those of you who can't find one.. don't be discouraged! Like I said, I only found one recently thanks to a friend who said "this gurl reminds me of Aysun" - four years after I made her in 1.0... I had always just figured I'd never find one that would remotely suit her. NEVER GIVE UP! xD
