So come on in, sit down, and experiment with something new at the Frothy Flask! This Friday (Oct 14), at 9pm EST, the Flask will have its grand opening! The theme is spooky, in the spirit of Saint's Wake, so, optionally, come dressed in your Saint's Wake costume! The location is Lavender Beds plot 36 ward 1. Please note that guests will not be seated or served prior to the opening time of 9pm EST, you may come for some early mingling though if you wish!

We are looking for interested bartenders, waitstaff, and chefs to help prepare and serve our unique dishes and drinks. Staff will be asked to wear an outfit relative to the month's theme, or perhaps take on a temporary role or personality for the theme. (For example, October's theme is Spooky, so we would request the staff to dress in spooky outfits or costumes, and take on a lighthearted spooky personality while serving guests). The them is going to rotate each month, alongside a few specialty dishes for the month. Bump for visibility, this is something that I would really like to see them do. I believe it would be very valuable for RPers in particulars, where LS concepts can have their own house without becoming a FC as well. The GMs have stated that they pay attention to concepts that get a lot of posts/likes, so any support would help if you agree.

I am kind of disappointed in the au ra and this is the only design i could really like, but I do not often play female characters so I am not sure if she will ever see the light of day. As it is right now, I cannot find a male I like.

Well if you wanted to draw Titor's pet, it is just a greyish carbuncle that is electric aspected (like all of Titor >_>). It is completely devoid of emotions and kind of a stoic sentinel type of carbuncle, not the bouncy happy ones that you see all about. This is because he created it as an extension of himself when he was playing around with it, and with his aether being all wonky and corrupt the carbuncle came out kind of... weird as well. So yeah, it would just be a greyish carbuncle with small bits of lightning about it, and a blank/emotionless/deadstare expression. If you felt like drawing it that would be adorable and I could show it to the person whose character will receive the carbuncle when Titor gives it to her. Though I know she reads these forums~

Titor juuuustttttt got/(made?) a pet carby, like last night. But it is not on his wiki haha. Perhaps when it is more established, though it is something I had been planning for a while to do anyway, but he is making it for someone else and is planning to give it away to protect them. It is a bit unique though. This is a great idea though You are a very wonderful and generous artist and person.

Steins;gate! I am not a huge anime fan, but I LOVE steins;gate. Mad scientists, catgirls, science, time-travel, plot twists, and more SCIENCE. It is a great combination of slice of life, humor, as well as some really intense action. 10000/10 would recommend to everyone.

Actually the OP mostly talks about how the modders should not ask for money From OP: I was mostly countering the points from the OP and first page of comments or so, from there it started turning into a distaste for the cut that the corporations are taking, which I agree it is a bit steep. But originally the posts were talking about how modders should not charge for something that they have been up to now providing for free.

I feel like they might be redone/expanded in the future. As they had said, the current zones are not flying-ready, I can see them doing something like WoW did and going back and redesigning the zones and making them flying-ready, possibly even expanding them larger when PS3 support is dropped entirely. It would not likely happen soon, I would say maybe after 4.0, if I had to guess a timeline, but they already said they are considering the idea of redesigning them to make them flying-ready, just not working on it at this time.

I would really like to talk to you more about this, the idea HIGHLY interests me, a lot. And I can see a lot of room for RP and development and possibly even IC friendships here. Titor would definitely be cut out for the job, just getting the characters together and figuring out what would go about would be all that would need to occur. If you want to discuss more, we could chat in game or on skype if you wanted to, for more of the IM style conversation over forum posts. Let me know! This sounds super awesome to me.

Ok, this is something that I am really passionate about, a programmer by both trade and hobby. I will start off by saying that the only issue here appears to be implementation and profit cuts to the modder. To all of the people who are raging about spending money on it... this is what gets to me. If an artist on a forum was giving away freebies for a while, then suddenly decided to start charging for their work, would you feel the same way? The artist was working for free out of passion/enjoyment/the community, but if they stumbled upon hard times or were looking for extra money for food or whatever, would you get all up on their case for now charging for a service that they once gave for free? Just because someone enjoys something and likes a community, does not mean that they should be obligated to give away their passions for free. This is the same with everything, art, code, writings, inventions. No one has to give anything away for free. If you do not want it, do not buy it. If it is not selling, they will lower the price eventually, and if they are not and getting no sales, then they probably do not care much about the mod to ensure its succees. I really dislike the mentality to coders in particular, that software, services, mods, whatnot should come for free, as if the code falls onto our lap and suddenly appears. This is not expected so much in many other fields. Like any other field, it is a lot of hard work and requires time and concentration to do it, alas I feel it is often veiled behind obfuscation to the non-coder-inclined and not many people understand the sheer amount of time and effort that it takes. I wholeheartedly support allowing third-party coders and modders (Though I cannot much speak for the texture community as I am not a part of it, but my ideas still apply to them) to profit off their time and effort. Remember that modders are NOT being payed by the company for the time they spent augmenting their game. They are not double dipping, they should not be guilted and blamed for wanting to get a bit of extra money at the end of the month for something they spent time and effort on. I have coded some mods in the past, and if I could have gotten compensated for them at the time, I would have (This was for MC, so I guess I got a bit of compensation as I got curse premium for life). This would especially help out people such as college students, who can find a way to pull in a bit of money for food through college while also being able to do something they enjoy, which is wonderful. Or anyone else on a tight budget, really. If you do not want to buy something, do not buy it. The only issue here is the significant cut that steam is taking from the mod developers. Even then, that is not very uncommon in any field. Stock photography artists, stock music artists, and other such sites often take a large cut from 'the person'. The large cut is the only thing I would protest against the whole thing. A share should be given to the companies for enabling development of mods and promoting them, but perhaps more of 30-30-40, valve/developer/modder, or just splitting things equally into thirds. Please stop getting mad and scoffish at modders who want to get a bit of extra money. They are unlikely going to be quitting their job over this and are definitely not out to be greedy. They are just trying to charge for a service, which is a very normal thing to do in life.

I am pretty pale IRL, and Titor is as well, thought Titor is a bit more of the sickly pale verses the 'white' pale. He should be darker for his ethnicity (His RL ethnicity would be Kazakh), but his illness drained most of the colour from him. In other games, if I can play a race that can be grey/purple/blue/black skinned, I usually do. In WoW, my blood elf death knight (Who was kind of the only main I had with human skin tone choices, the rest were non-human skin choices) used the dark grey 'death knight' skin, and my keepers/duskies in this game are ashen to pure black coloured skin (sans Nerva, who is just a bit tanned, but he is an edge case). I do have a character that is not represented in games at the moment (though i had her made at one point) who is a /very/ dark skinned highlander lady, with a bit of an African accent. She is cool, but I never really found a good place for her in FFXIV, but I might bring her back sometime as an airship pilot when I want a new alt. I generally play a wide variety of skintones I think, I do not particularly stay into one tone. I think my favourite skin tones are nonhuman greyscale/ashen tones (like keepers can get). I also really like the pure white colour you can get on hellsguard femroes. If I am playing a non-human race, I really enjoy going for the (generally)non-human colour tones they can be if they have any greys/blues/greens/reds or whatnot in their skin pallet.

Whhyyyyy do you have to be evil T.T This plot would fit perfectly for the bestie role, working with machinery since that is kind if all around generally him, and he is def going machinist in HW. But he is chaotic neutral and works with the Flames, and would not assist a criminal... unlessofcourseyourcharactercouldbeconvertedbysomemeans Bahahaha. In fact my RP FC in general is kind of focused around this stuff. We work with experimental technologies and science/engineering/machinery while protecting Thanalan and Ul'dah.

So our good friend Erik Mynhier is taking an arrow to the knee - er, getting married! On May 2nd at 7PM EST there is going to be a Bachelor party like no Flame Captain has ever seen before. Where at? The Mist, Ward 6, plot 35. Titor's house transformed into a super manly party mansion. There will be plenty of roll-based games and competitions, as well as IC catering and an all around awesome time. Tentative Events: Three-Card Poker (/random based) The Chocobo Chowdown Challenge (Eating Contest, /random based) Sudden Death Shots Contest (mini-drinking challenge) Plus performances from bards, dancers and volunteers. Lovely Hostesses needed! We will need an assortment of entertainers and lovely ladies, though please no stripping (or anything further than stripping). We want a good time all around!
