Jancis Posted December 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2014 December is the month devoted to Althyk! If anyone is interested in sharing a story about how it has changed, how Change has impacted their life, songs and stories of time, space, and changes in life. Bards, Astrologists, Priests comes to mind, but it is not limited to. This is part of the pilgrimage series of events that have been happening for the last two months. Taste of the event is here: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=8727 http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9047 The date for this event is still not determined, but it will be on one day between the 27th and 30th of December between Christmas and New Years with a bit of a New years celebration style in mind. A day will be picked once I get enough feedback from interested parties on what the majority can make. I'll be touching base with people who have been involved previous times shortly, but it's not limited to the same performers and I enjoy having different groups meet together. Thank you! Excited to see how this holiday week time will play out for the event and also trying to squeeze it in during this busy season. Link to comment

Jancis, We've got the Bard/Performer linkshell working out a final few kinks, and have been making some debut plans, but I can tell you that we ought to have quite a few folks interested in this. I will certainly speak for myself and step forward to volunteer - even have the perfect idea for it. Link to comment

You guys rock! Last one we had a full cast of performers with seven which made it about two hours long so I'm hoping to have somewhere between 3-6 performances before the free-form role play time is open. That collaborative song you did was lovely and impressive if people want to group up and do something similar. Thank you so much! :bouncy: Link to comment

Jancis Posted December 5, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted December 5, 2014 What would the Astrologers' role be? To be frank, I'm not entirely sure. At this point I'm throwing out ideas and brainstorming, but there are a lot more creative people out there than myself and would have a better lore-point to what or how that would fit in. Considering Althyk is tied to space it goes on to astronomers and possibly astrologers as an offshoot. Some people might interpret that to be some kind of personal horoscope as far as changes and what time will bring; others can push it to education in health, thoughts, elements (even though his key element is earth). I'm not entirely up on the lore, but the heavens are used to predict things in Coerthas so the theme passes down. One idea is it's the title for some of the Prayer Leaders where pilgrims can approach with their thoughts and get some resolution to their concerns, be it mental or physical. If it's more of an astronomer role, that's fine, but at the same time I'm not looking for an intellectual class from what the event offers. Pilgrims can bring that themselves and be free-form with it. Link to comment
Dogberry Posted December 5, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 5, 2014 I could have Iskierka come around as an astrologer and read fortunes. Link to comment

I know a lot of people, myself included, who have done all sorts of lore-aligned charts for fortune-telling / card-reading / astrological predictions in several games. This seems to be potentially ideal, especially since we are all supposed to be adventures blessed of Hydalaen, anyway... Link to comment
Jancis Posted December 5, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted December 5, 2014 I know a guy, if you need one. That one guy? What a guy! Of course you can count on at least one guard present. Aww, you didn't wait for me to say "So you're going to guard my event, yes?" hehehe If anyone else is interested in being a guard, please let me know. Jaques created a perfect ensemble guard outfit for it for the first one and we keep the theme. It gives the event a nice and protected look especially since this event will be outside of a city. Right now I'm still scouting out the Southern Shroud for an ideal place for the event so guards will be very welcome for the creatures around there. Kopo is a devout follower of Althyk, and has his own tales to tell. I'd love to have him show up. I will PM you with my ideas and get your details. I could have Iskierka come around as an astrologer and read fortunes. The Iskiberry! Sounds good to have the masked girl there I'll PM you and take it from there. Why not Fortune-Telling? Nebbs Posted December 6, 2014 Share #17 Posted December 6, 2014 Nebula is a follower of Althyk, mainly from a futures point of view. She did IC change to another god but still reveres Althyk. What I can offer in terms of RP are.. For a crowed I could try a mass meditation/contemplation of their path? On a smaller one on one sideshow I could do.. Fortune Telling (Palm reading, Frog hopping, Spray paining etc..) Vision Pool (using waters from the pool at the base of the Observatorium to cast the light from their stars and allow someone to see visions of what has been, what is and what maybe) I'll leave the dancing naked on rocky outcrops under a full moon out Link to comment
Ciel Posted December 6, 2014 Share #18 Posted December 6, 2014 I'm interested, but I can't guarantee my presence at this point. December being a busy month, irl, I have two family gatherings to attend and the dates for those haven't even been set yet. Naturally, those will be my priority. If the cards fall right, however, I'll be there. Link to comment
Jancis Posted December 8, 2014 Author Share #19 Posted December 8, 2014 I'm certainly interested! You know I'm interested in all of these that you do. As soon as a time is determined, I'll work to try and make it! You two :lol: the time is my biggest crunch. I haven't even 100% figured out the venue yet. Sending out PMs now to really get times all the performers can make it and otherwise I'm really relying on people having some of the end of the year week off. Or being stuck at home on laptops that can only manage to walk around and role play. Link to comment

Menphina is in February. Those ideas sound wonderful. I am still waffling between using the Observatorium and not: Althyk's stone is in South Shroud in the middle of nowhere, the Observatorium has the main story quest there and it's going to be holiday break so some people might pick up the game and we'd have a lot of unwanted traffic... or I can be over-thinking it. I had been looking for a venue that was similar even if it didn't have such a large telescope but something kind of observatory-style and didn't have much luck. eh, details!
